Hondo ISD’s newest retirees Mary Zinsmeyer (seated) and Dawn Van Damme were honored Friday at the district’s closing ceremonies for the 2025-26 school year. Mary has completed 23 years with HISD, in support and coordinator roles at both the campus and central office levels. Dawn, who has been Assistant Principal at Woolls Intermediate since 2021, has served in both instructional and administrative roles, dedicating 17 of her 31 years in education to Hondo ISD. Not pictured is retiree John Hannon, who has been in education for 35 years, with the last eight in various instructional roles at Hondo High School. All will receive a traditional rocking chair from the HISD.
