It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Farris Theodore Brooks, Jr., who departed this life peacefully on November 30, 2025, in Hondo, Texas.   He was born in Brownfield, Texas, on July 25, 1941.   Per the family’s request, there will be no services at this time.   Condolences: hondofuneralhome.com

A tragic highway accident took the life of 21-year-old Travis Ray Pursley of Hondo early Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025.   He was born in San Antonio Feb. 28, 2004.   Travis’ family invites his friends and former classmates to celebrate his life on Saturday, Dec. 6 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with recitation of the Rosary at 10:00 am. with memorial service beginning at 10:30 followed by a reception at Hermann Sons Lodge Hall. Jana Jeanelle Ross, 47, of Spring Lake, NC, passed away unexpectedly in her home on  November 20, 2025.  She was born May 3, 1978, in San Antonio, TX.   Friends are invited to the viewing from 11:00 a.m. to noon on December 4, 2025, at Hondo Funeral Home, 2910 Avenue E, Hondo, TX 78861.
