Hondo was not alone in picking up a Division I rating, as each of the other seven bands in 3A at Barry Field also earned 1s, and will be headed to area as well. They include Lytle, Natalia, Jourdanton, Poteet, Cotulla, Crystal City and Dilley.

Among 1A bands, D’Hanis earned a Division I as well, and will head straight to the UIL State Contest on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

At the Judson ISD’s Rutledge Stadium, Medina Valley, competing in 6A, earned a 1, and will go to area on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Leander’s Gupton Stadium.
