Hondo Lions chicken BBQ this Sunday

The Hondo Lions Club will be holding its annual chicken barbecue this Sunday, March 29, at Hondo City Park #1.

Plates are $12 each and include a mesquite-barbecued half-chicken, along with beans and slaw. All plates are to-go, and may be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Tickets are available from any Lions member, or at the front desk of the Hondo Anvil Herald (1601 Avenue K).

Plates may also be purchased, for as long as they are available, in the drive-thru line at City Park on the day of the event.

Proceeds from the chicken barbecue benefit the Hondo Lions’ Nelson Bippert and Tommy Hollmig Memorial Scholarship Funds. Scholarships are awarded annually to Hondo High School graduating seniors.
