New HACC director begins duties

Jeana Holzhaus, recently hired as Hondo Area Chamber of Commerce (HACC) director, began her first day Thursday, August 6.
“In my role as HACC director,” Jeana said, “I look forward to strengthening bonds of the community between residents, business owners and visitors to God’s Country and the surrounding area.
“I hope not only to maintain current memberships,” continued Jeana, “but to grow them as well. I will focus on promoting what is unique to Hondo and nearby communities with the strong support of my knowledgeable board of directors.”
She was recently employed at Bluebonnet Children’s Advocacy Center in Hondo as their Family Advocate.
Jeana grew up in Uvalde, graduated from Uvalde High School, then attended Southwest Texas State University where she earned a Bachelors Degree in English.
She is married to Layne Holzhaus and has two daughters who attend high school: Sheridan, a senior and Gwynneth, a freshman.
