HISD adopts $25.3 million budget for 2026-’27 year

At its special meeting on Monday evening in the Hondo High School cafeteria, the Hondo ISD Board of Trustees adopted its budget for the 2026-27 school year.

For the year, the board adopted a budget of $25,336,561.

The proposed tax rate for the year is a total of 0.9469 (94.69¢) per $100 valuation. Of that total, 0.6669 (66.69¢) is dedicated to maintenance and operation, while 0.2800 (28¢) is marked for interest and sinking. 

The tax rate is unofficial until the board adopts it, most likely at its August meeting.
