The regular session of Medina County Commissioners Court, with County Judge Keith Lutz presiding, met Monday, June 1. Commissioners Jessica Castiglione, Precinct 1; Larry Sittre, Pct. 2; David Lynch, Pct. 3; and Danny Lawler, Pct. 4 were present.
Subdivisions
Following an explanation by R.J. Ruiz with McCall, Parkhurst & Horton LLC, commissioners voted unanimously to approve an Order for Haby Farms Public Improvement District (PID) Service and Assessment Plan.
The Order included a proposed Assessment Roll, directing the filing of the proposed assessment roll with the tax assessor-collector, calling and directing mailing and publication of notice of a public hearing to consider an order levying assessments.
Commissioners then consented to a plat vacating Tract 6 of the Matt Hutzler Subdivision, located on FM 1343 within the City of Castroville Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ).Â
The court agreed to amend the recorded plat of Redbird Ranch Phase 2, Unit 5M, located in Precinct 1 on CR 381 and Potranco Road. The amendment corrects the street name of Tiger Heron to Wood Pigeon.
Commissioners voted unanimously to table action to allow further study regarding a final plat establishing Phases 1 and 2 in the Weatherwood Subdivision, located in Pct. 1 on FM 1283 and FM 471.Â
Treasurer’s Report
Commissioners approved the Accounts Payable total of $1,909,938.68 (with the exception of the 97 Fund) reported by Medina County Treasurer Debra Graff.
In a separate action, the court accepted Graff’s Disbursement of Funds report since the last meeting May 18 totaling $30,866.18 for utilities, fuel and dental claims.
Further ActionÂ
In other action before the court, commissioners:
• granted a 30-day extension for submittal of an Annual Financial Report by Emergency Service Districts (ESDs) 4 and 5; and
• authorized submission of a grant application for the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) for Fiscal Year 2025 State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP) for the Medina County Sheriff’s Office and agreed to accept the grant if it is awarded.
The next meeting of commissioners court will be conducted at 9 a.m. Monday, June 15 in the Medina County Courthouse Annex.
