Every measure on the ballot passed, both in Medina County and – in the case of the 17 state constitutional amendments –  across the State of Texas.

In addition to the passage of the constitutional amendments and the nine City of Hondo Charter amendments, Hondo voters also elected B.J. McCollum as its new councilman for Place 2.

McCollum won the seat against two other candidates, Angela Saathoff and Raul “Bigg” Ytuarte, garnering 51% of the vote to serve the remaining 18 months of the council position left open with the resignation of Joe Claire over the summer.

The only other item on any ballot in Medina County was in the Natalia ISD, where Jaime Gomez and Danielle Alderete were elected to the two school board vacancies.

A total of 5,424 cast ballots in Medina County, including 62 absentee, 2,604 early voters and 2,758 election day voters.

A chart with complete local voting results is on page 3 of this issue.
