Lady Jackets win twice heading to SWTJC tourney

 

     The Sabinal Lady Jackets pulled away in the second half on Tuesday, Nov. 21, for a 48-35 home win over Knippa.

Sabinal, which held a 24-22 lead at halftime, was led by 18 points from Kaya Piles. Ten different players got into the scoring column for the Lady Jackets.

     Tuesday, Nov. 28, also on the home court, Sabinal walloped Sunnybrook Christian, 64-12. The Lady Lions didn’t score in the second half.

     Again, Sabinal spread out the scoring among 11 players, with Kaya Piles’ 15 points leading the way. Karri Piles and Kyndra DeHoyos both scored eight, with seven from Tori Esquivel and six from Jaycee McDaniel.

     Sabinal will once again take part in the SWTJC Tournament this weekend in Uvalde. The Lady Jackets will play their opening round matchup against Nueces Canyon on Friday, Dec. 1, at 11:30 a.m., with another contest to be played later in the day. Their final round matchup will be on Saturday, Dec. 2, with the time to be determined by their record through the first two games.

     On Tuesday, Dec. 5, the Lady Jackets will host Junction at 6:30 p.m.
