Girls track places 2nd in Dilley meet
Dilley -- Last Wednesday, March 5, in the Dilley Wolfpack Relays, the Hondo girls’ track team placed second, while the boys’ team was sixth in the team standings.
After taking the week off for Spring Break this week, the Owls will return to the track on Wednesday, March 19, in the Warhorse Relays at Devine.
Hondo had one first place finish in both divisions of the varsity-only meet.
In the girls’ division, the 4x400m relay team of Ashlyn Tovar, Shanell Rivera, Makylie Peña and Kristyn Ybarra won their event in a time of 4:22.97.
The win in the boys’ division came in the pole vault, where Mason Barr cleared a personal best 14’0”.
