D’Hanis teams head to Kerrville for holiday contests
As they have done for the last few Christmas breaks, the D’Hanis Cowboy and Cowgirl basketball teams will be going to the Kerrville area for the Our Lady of the Hills Tournament.
The event is actually just a chance for teams to get in a few games before going full speed into district play, as there are 29 boys’ teams and 16 girls’ teams in the tourney, with six different gyms in use.
Both D’Hanis teams will play twice on Friday, Dec. 27, and twice more on Saturday, Dec. 28.
The Cowgirls will play Friday at 9:45 a.m. against Seguin Lifegate in the Ingram Middle School gym, then will play later in the day, 2:45, against Galveston O’Connell in the gym at Kerrville’s First United Methodist Church.
Friday’s schedule for the Cowboys finds them at the Ingram High School gym, also at 9:45, facing Ingram. At 1:30, they’ll go to the FUMC in Kerrville, to take on the Seguin freshman team.
On Saturday, the Cowgirls will play both of their games at the Schreiner University Auxiliary gym. They’ll face St. Anthony at 1:30, and San Marcos Homeschool at 5:15.
The Cowboys will play Saturday, once more at FUMC, in an 11 a.m. game against O’Connell, and will play their last game of the weekend at 4 p.m. at the Schreiner Auxiliary gym, facing St. Gerard.
