Sabinal, D’Hanis meet in tourney’s first round
The 65th edition of the Southwest Texas College Invitational Basketball Tournament will get started Thursday, Dec. 4.
Action starts at 8:30 a.m. at La Forge Hall on the SWTX campus in Uvalde, with Sabinal and D’Hanis taking the court in the opening round matchups. The Lady Jackets and Cowgirls will play in the first game of the day, followed by the Yellowjackets and Cowboys in the 10 a.m. contest.
Nueces Canyon and Leakey will play in the second set of games, at 11:30 and 1:00. Those teams will meet either Sabinal or D’Hanis in the second round matchups, either in the consolation bracket or the championship bracket.
Friday’s first-round contests will pit La Pryor against Utopia and Brackett against Knippa. Final round action will be played all day on Saturday.
The Nueces Canyon girls and Utopia boys were the 2024 tournament champions.
