MV volleyball wins twice

 

     Keeping pace with the two District 28-5A leaders, the Medina Valley Panthers won twice in the past week, scoring a four-set home victory on Friday, Sept. 22, over Southwest Legacy, and traveling to Southside on Tuesday, Sept. 26, for a sweep of the Lady Cardinals.

     In Friday’s 25-19, 23-25, 25-20, 25-17 win over Legacy, four Panthers had double-digit kills. Alana Smith led the way with 18, Cara Garcia had 13, Jenah Broesche had 12 and Abigail Beal recorded 10 kills. Smith and Lexi Tedford both had 28 assists as well. 

Tuesday at Southside, the Panthers recorded a 25-21, 25-23, 25-21 win over the Lady Cardinals to climb to 4-2 in the district race, while moving to .500 on the season, at 15-15.

     This week, the Panthers will play at home floor twice. They’ll wrap up the first half of the district schedule on Friday, Sept. 29, against Eagle Pass Winn, and on Tuesday, Oct. 3, will host South San. Both matches start at 6 p.m.
