Panthers record two more league wins


     Medina Valley volleyball recorded its fourth and fifth straight District 28-5A matches in the past week. The Panthers took four sets to defeat Southside on Friday, Sept. 27, and came back on Tuesday, Oct. 1, with a straight-set win at Uvalde.

On Friday, the Panthers led 2-0 over Southside before the Lady Cardinals rallied to take set 3. MV bounced back to take the match in four sets, 25-15, 25-22, 20-25, 25-23.

     Tuesday in Uvalde, the Panthers began the second half of the district campaign with a three-set sweep on the road, beating Uvalde, 25-19, 25-15, 25-18.

     For the year, the Panthers’ are 24-13 on the season and 8-1 in 28-5A.

     In the coming week, the Panthers have an open date on Friday, and will host Southwest Legacy on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
