Football teams from 2000 and later to be honored Nov. 9

The last of four on-field recognitions of former Hondo High School football players is scheduled for this Friday, Nov. 9, when the Owls host Devine at Barry Field.

As part of the HHS football centennial, different groups of classes are being honored at the halftime of four home games this season.

At the Devine game, all football lettermen who graduated in the classes of 2001 through 2012 (teams of 2000-2011, along with the current team) will be honored at the end of halftime, for their contributions toward the tradition and legend of Hondo Owl football.

At three earlier home games, players from the HHS graduating classes all the way up through the year 2000 have been honored.

Because of the limited time available, individual recognitions are not possible, but each group will be asked to go out on the field for a brief presentation at the end of halftime.

All local former players are encouraged to help spread the word, by getting in touch with as many teammates as possible.
