Putting their 22-3 season mark to the test, the Medina Valley baseball team will enter the UIL 4A playoffs this week, representing District 29-AAAA as the runner-up.

The Panthers will battle Rockport-Fulton in the bi-district round. R-F was the third-place finisher in 30-AAAA.

The teams will open a best-of-three series Thursday, May 6, at Gerald Kempf Field, when the Panthers host the Pirates at 7 p.m. The second game of the series will be at Rockport on Friday, May 7, also at 7 p.m., with a third game, if needed, to be played Saturday, May 8, at 4 p.m. in Beeville.

The winner of the series will face either Laredo Cigarroa or Mission next week in the area playoffs.
