Alejandro T. Antu of San Antonio passed away September 11, 2005, at the age of 67. Rosary recited Wednesday, Sept. 14. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Uvalde. Interment in the Old Uvalde Catholic Cemetery.

Martha Baines, born June 15, 1907, in Yancey, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, in Yancey. Graveside service was held Wednesday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m. in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Maria Ramos Billalobos, age 98, of Devine passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, in Lytle. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Romeo Olivares officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

Shirley Faye Bohmfalk of Yancey, passed away Sept. 29, 2005, at the age of 64. She was born May 18, 1941, in Pearsall. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor Vance R. Elliott, was held at 2 p.m. Sunday Oct. 2, at the Yancey United Methodist Church. Interment followed in Yancey Cemetery.

Anita Hernandez Camacho age 74, passed away on Sept. 24, 2005, in Castroville. She was born on Sept. 25, 1930, in Hondo. Rosary was recited Monday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Funeral Mass was Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 10 a.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church officiated by Rev. Jeff Pehl. Burial followed in the Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.

Mary Lorene (Weaver) Cason of Hondo passed away Sept. 27, 2005, at the age of 89. She was born March 10, 1916, in Brownwood. The Funeral Service, officiated by Frank Perkins, was at 10 a.m. Friday Sept. 30, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home in Hondo.

Georgia May Chapman, age 86, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, at Vitas Hospice Care in San Antonio. She was born Sept. 13, 1919, in Uvalde County. Funeral service was held Saturday, Sept. 24, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Sabinal. Interment followed in Sabinal Cemetery with Rev. Don Snyder and Rev. Robert Richarz officiating.

Lt. Col. George B. Coyle, OD, US Army Ret., of Castroville, passed away Sept. 30, 2005, at the age of 77 in San Antonio. George was born April 4, 1928, in San Antonio and raised there except for two years when his parents moved to Castroville when he was in the fourth and fifth grade. Visitation was Tuesday, Oct. 4, with Rosary at 7 p.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Chapel. The Mass was held Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 11 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment followed at 1 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Rosemarie Judith Elder, age 65, of Devine passed away Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, at her residence. Graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Evergreen Cemetery with interment following. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Tuesday.

Sylvia Medina Fohn of Hondo, passed away Sept. 26, 2005, at the age of 56. She was born Oct. 24, 1948, in Cotulla. The Rosary was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, and the Funeral Mass, officiated by Rev. Jeff Pehl, was at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, both services at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo. Interment
will follow in Hondo Cemetery, St. John Section.

Nancy Prue Foster, age 69, passed away at her residence in BanderaFriday, Sept. 9, 2005, following an extended illness. She was born on Feb. 12, 1936, and grew up in Bandera where she graduated from high school in 1954. Rosary will be held on Monday, Sept. 19, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Bandera, and a memorial service held on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 10 a.m. with Father Stan Oleksy officiating.

Alvin J. Gates of Hondo and Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on Sept. 29, 2005, at the age of 97.
Graveside service was held on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Resthaven Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK.

Kenneth Earl Ginnow, age 83, passed away on Friday, Sept. 9, 2005. He was born on June 12, 1922, in Neenah, WI. Visitation was Monday, Sept. 12, at the Guinn- Horger Chapel. Funeral service was held Tuesday, Sept. 13, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor David Mayer officiating. Interment was in the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Geraldo Gonzales of Hondo passed away on September 10, 2005, at the age of 50. Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Hondo Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, Sept. 14, at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment followed in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Vicenta (Bessie) Lozano Gonzales, age 70, passed away Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, in Hondo. The family invited her friends to join them for the burial of her ashes on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at 2 p.m. on the family ranch 3155 US Highway 90, Castroville.

Laura E. Halbardier of Hondo, passed away Sept. 19, 2005, at the age of 95. She was born June 26, 1910, near San Antonio to Carl A. and Augusta Marie (Becker) Kossaeth. Funeral Service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hondo with Rev. David Mayer officiating. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Baby Zachary Ryan Hermes of Hondo passed away on Sept. 15, 2005. Baby Zachary is survived by his parents, Noah and Ashlee Hermes; sisters, Adyson Lee and Katelyn Nyzomie Hermes; grandparents, Brenda and William Horan; Rebecca and Michael Dugi, and Glenn Hermes. A graveside service was held on Saturday, Sept. 17, at Hondo Cemetery.

Francisca Salazar Hernandez age 86, passed away on Sept. 14, 2005, in San Antonio. She was born on April 2, 1919, in Hondo. Rosary was led by Epifania Ibarra and Joe Mares on Friday, Sept. 16, 7 p.m, and the Funeral Mass was held Saturday, 2 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Jeff Pehl.
Interment was in the Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.

Sherry Elizabeth Heyen, age 58, of Hondo passed away Sept. 15, 2005. A memorial service was held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20.

Vivie J. Hill, 86, of St. Simon's Island, GA, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005. A private service will be held later in Brackettville.

William August Honig, age 89, of Hondo passed away Sept. 22, 2005. He was born on Nov. 22, 1915 on his grandmother's ranch at Salt Branch, near Doss. Funeral service was at 2 p.m., Sept. 26, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. David J. Mayer officiating. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Donna M. Jochem, age 59, passed away Sept. 16, 2005. She was born November 8, 1945. Family and friends come together to share memories and celebrate the life of Donna M. Jochem on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Journal Advocate meeting room.

Jack Charles Kelly Sr., age 64, of San Antonio/ Castroville, passed awayTuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, in San Antonio. Jack was born Nov. 9, 1940, in Vernon. Funeral service Thursday, Sept. 15, at 10 a.m. at Calvary Hills Baptist Church, 910 W. Loop 1604 N., San Antonio. Interment followed the funeral service at Castroville Community Cemetery.

Gayle Glenda Lee, 64, of San Antonio, passed away Sept. 6, 2005. She was born Oct. 3, 1944 in the Philippines during WWII. Memorial service was held Thursday, Sept. 8, at the First United Methodist Church, Hondo.

Stephen Wayne Mayer of Hondo passed away Sept. 28, 2005, at the age of 56. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30. Chapel service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Hondo Funeral Home. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery.

Otis Edward Nester of Ozona, passed away Sept. 25, 2005, at the age of 79. He was born Sept. 18, 1926, in D'Hanis. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor John Collis of the First Baptist Church of Ozona, was at 3 p.m. Thursday Sept. 29, at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home in Hondo.

Alma Ruth Newman, age 96, of Yancey, originally from Lytle, passed away Sept. 22, 2005, in Yancey. She was born on Aug. 7, 1909, in Atascosa. Graveside service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, in Lytle Masonic Cemetery with Pastor David Ramsay officiating.

Eugene Elvin Pennington Sr., age 66, of Sabinal passed away in Sept.11, 2005, in Medina Community Hospital in Hondo. He was born in Sabinal July 2, 1939. A graveside service was held at Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Sabinal Cemetery with Rev. Monty Benson officiating.

Guadalupe Ramirez, age 56, of Natalia, passed away Friday September 16, 2005. He was born in Bigfoot, May 18, 1949. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19 at St. John Bosco Catholic Church with Father Romeo Olivares officiating. Interment followed in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.

Lou Robichaux, age 69, of Castroville passed away Sept. 16, 2005, at Lackland AFB. Lou was born Jan. 26, 1935, in New Iberia, LA. Visitation was Monday, Sept. 19, with the funeral service at 4 p.m., at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Her wishes were to be cremated.

Hugo A. Schweers Jr. a long-time resident of Austin passed away at Lake Tahoe, CA on Sept. 28, 2005. He was born July 27, 1918 in Hondo. A memorial service was held at St. Martin's Lutheran Church at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10. Burial will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

LT Billy "Bill" W. Stevenson USN Ret., age 64, of Castroville, passed away Sept. 25, 2005, in San Antonio. Billy was born July 8, 1941, in Weslaco. Visitation Thursday, Sept. 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Funeral service Friday, Sept. 30, 10 a.m., at Medina Valley United Methodist Church, Castroville. His wishes were to be cremated and his ashes buried at sea.

Lucille Suberg, age 94, passed away Sept. 28, 2005. She was born in Moulton on Nov. 16, 1910. Visitation and Rosary were held in the Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at St. John Berchmans Catholic Church. Interment followed at San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery No. 2. The Angelus, San Antonio

Genevieve Turk, born Genevieve Mary Dornak, went in peace to be with her Lord on Sept. 23, 2005, at the age of 71. She was born Nov. 18, 1933, in Gonzalez and later moved at the age of five to Yoakum. Visitation, with a Rosary at 7 p.m., was Sunday, Sept. 25, at St. Luke's Catholic Church, San Antonio, and funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Sept. 26. Billy "Frank" Wood Sr., of San Antonio, passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2005, at the age of 68. He was born in Austin on Oct. 4, 1936. Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Porter Loring Chapel with Rev. Joe Walts officiating. Interment will be in Austin Memorial
Park, Austin.
