Eloise Jean (Allen) Alles, formerly of Battle Creek, MI, passed away peacefully at her home in Naples, FL, on Oct. 12, 2005. She was 84. A memorial service held on Oct. 29 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home, 703 Capital Ave. SW in Battle Creek, MI.

Gregorio L. Barrios Sr.; of Hondo, passed away on Oct. 27, 2005, at the age of 89. Visitation was from 4 to 9 p.m. on Sunday Oct. 30, and 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral Mass was at St. John's Catholic Church on Monday Oct. 31. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery.

Nelda Minnie Justine Beard of Quihi, passed away Oct.12, 2005, at the age of 84. She was born Aug. 4, 1921, in Quihi. Visitation was on Friday, Oct. 14, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Saturday at the New Fountain United Methodist Church,
officiated by Pastor Bill Treude. Interment was at the Quihi Cemetery.

Jerry Benavides, age 40 passed away from this life on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005, in Bucaramanga, Colombia. He was born Dec. 22, 1964. Funeral service was held on Saturday, Oct. 8, in Hondo. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery.

Walter John Biar, age 90, died Oct. 26, 2005. He was born in Thorndale on March 11, 1915. Graveside service was held Friday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery, Devine.

Thomas E. Bradshaw joined the Lord on Oct. 5, 2005, after a short illness. He was born on May 30, 1917, in Green Forest AR, the 13th of 15 children. Viewing was from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10 and 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday. Rev. Ross Chandler led services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11. Interment followed at 1:15 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. A celebration of Thomas' life was held at First Baptist Church following the ceremony.

Cruz Ledesma Corona of Tacoma, WA, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at the age of 68. She was born March 3, 1937, in Hondo. A graveside memorial service was held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, with Deacon Richard Edminson officiating, at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.

Ira W. Crutchfield, age 89, of Devine went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005. Visitation was held on Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Funeral Home. Funeral service was conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, in Hurley Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Evergreen Cemetery.

Austin Franklin, age 83, of Devine passed away Tuesday, Oct.18, 2005, in San Antonio. Visitation was held 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at the funeral home. Funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct 21, in Hurley Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Evergreen Cemetery.

Felice Contreras Garcia, age 53, of Hondo, passed away on Oct. 12, 2005. Visitation was from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday Oct. 14 and 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15. A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday. Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery.

Maria L. Gomez of D'Hanis passed away Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, at the age of 83. She was born Feb. 12, 1922, in LaCoste. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and the Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, both at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis and officiated by Fr. Wallis J. Stiles.

Antonio Estevan Gonzalez, age 97, of La Coste, passed away Oct. 5, 2005 in Castroville. He was born Sept. 2, 1908 in Villa de Carmen, Mexico. The Tondre- Guinn Funeral Home was open for Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, and from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 7. A Prayer Service, led by Fr. John Mannion was held Thursday, Oct. 6, at 7 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. Graveside was held on Friday, Oct. 7, at 10:15 a.m. at the Castroville Community Cemetery in Castroville, with Fr. John Mannion officiating. Interment followed the service at Castroville Community Cemetery in Castroville.

Mary Elizabeth Diehl Heinze, age 74, of Castroville passed away Oct. 12, 2005, in San Antonio. Mary was born Sept. 1, 1931, in Trenton, NJ. Her wishes were to be cremated. Private family memorial service at a later date.

Rachel Johana Mangold Hutzler, age 87, of La Coste passed away Oct. 10, 2005, in San Antonio. Rachel was born Nov. 7, 1917, in La Coste. The Tondre-Guinn Chapel was open for visitation Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 12 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. The Mass of Resurrection Thursday, Oct. 13, 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Interment followed the mass at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in La Coste.

Charlie Joseph Jackel, age 80, of Atascosa, passed away October 8, 2005 at his home. Charlie was born December 18, 1924, in Atascosa. The Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home was open for visitation on Monday, Oct. 10, 2005 from 12 noon to 5:30 p.m. The Rosary was at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 10, 2005 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Macdona. Funeral Mass was at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church, Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 10 a.m. Interment followed the mass in Hermann Sons Cemetery, Macdona.

Delores LaVerne Kasting Tomlinson, age 72, of San Antonio went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005. Delores was born Sept. 3, 1933, in Cransville Gap. Funeral service was held Saturday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home Chapel, followed by interment at the Castroville Community Cemetery.

Clarence Jerome (C.J. or Jerry) Krenmueller was born June 16, 1938 in Hondo. He passed away on Oct. 9, 2005, in Seattle Washington after a yearlong battle with cancer.

Anna Lou McWhirter entered into rest Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital. She was born in Greenville, on Nov. 10, 1946. Funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2 p.m., at First United Methodist Church, Hondo. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Woodmen of the World Section.

Natividad Muniz, age 64, of Sabinal passed away Oct. 4, 2005, in San Antonio. He was born in D'Hanis, Dec. 25, 1940. Funeral service was at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Chapel in Sabinal with Father, Ken Dakin officiating. Interment followed in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Sabinal.

Mayme Ida Nester of D'Hanis passed away Oct. 10, 2005, at the age of 89. She was born Dec. 11, 1915, in D'Hanis. Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel, officiated by Rev. Wallis J. Stiles. Interment was at the Woodmen of the World Cemetery in D'Hanis.

Alejos Quintanilla of Hondo, passed away October 5, 2005, at the age of 82. He was born May 8, 1923, in Mexico. The Rosary was at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home and the Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Jeff Pehl, was at 1 p.m. Saturday Oct. 8, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo. Interment in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Ismael Ramirez, of Hondo, passed away Oct. 22, 2005, at the age of 36. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25. Funeral Mass was at noon
on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery.

Halle Rodriguez of D'Hanis, was delivered to Jesus on Oct. 24, 2005, at St. Luke's Baptist Hospital in San Antonio. Service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, followed by interment at the San Francisco Cemetery in D'Hanis.

Viola Violet (Chamberlain) Ryan of Lytle, passed away October 2, 2005, at the age of 89. She was born July 15, 1916, in Sweetwater. Visitation from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. The Graveside Service, officiated by Pastor Cliff Harden, was at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 5, at the Quihi Cemetery.

Mathis Henry Saathoff, age 90, of Hondo/Quihi, passed away Oct. 27, 2005, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Mathis was born June 18, 1915, in Hondo. Visitation was on Friday, Oct. 28, starting at noon with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. Mass of Resurrection was held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery.

MSGT Marvin Ahr Schirhart, USAF retired, age 76, of Castroville passed away October 13, 2005. Marvin was born Nov. 1, 1928, in Castroville. Funeral Mass was held Monday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church. Rosary was recited Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Interment was at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Benjamin Harold Snowden, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, in Cedar Park. He was born Nov. 15, 1918, in Union, MS. Funeral service was held Oct. 22, at Beck Funeral Home in Round Rock, lead by Mr. Snowden's pastor from Shenandoah Baptist Church in Cedar Park. A military color guard presented a U.S. flag to the Snowden family in honor of Mr. Snowden's service to our country. Interment was at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, with full military honors.

Thomas Arnold Taylor of San Antonio, passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at the age of 95. He was born April 14, 1910, on Taylor Lane near Hondo. A private interment service held at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section, officiated by Ross Chandler, pastor of First Baptist Church of
Hondo.

Patsy Ruth Tonne of Edmond, OK passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005. Funeral service was held Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at the Matthews Funeral
Home in Edmond, OK.
