James R. Barton, age 62, of Hondo, passed away Nov. 13, 2006. James was born March 25, 1944 in Hondo. The Guinn-Horger Funeral Home was open for Visitation on Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. The Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m. at the Hondo United Methodist Church in Hondo. Interment followed the funeral service at the Hondo Cemetery, Hondo.

Donald Franklin Bias, age 76, of Canyon Lake, passed away Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, in Hondo. Funeral service was held at Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, in the Chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home, Devine, with interment following at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Clara Bell Frazier Braendle, age 86, passed away Nov. 26, 2006 in Castroville. She was born Nov. 27, 1919, in Romayor. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 10 a.m. at the Castroville Community Cemetery in Castroville.

Bernice Justine Lindeburg Brink, age 80, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, in San Antonio. She was born in San Antonio Nov. 17, 1925. Graveside service was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Quihi Cemetery, with Rev. Charles Parker of New Fountain United Methodist Church officiating. A memorial service was held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at University Methodist Church in San Antonio.

Grace E. Caudle of Hondo, 93, passed away on Friday, Nov. 3, 2006. She was born in the Vandenberg settlement , Jan. 28, 1913. A private memorial service will be held later.

Martin Gonzales Criado, Jr., age 75, of Castroville, passed away Nov. 28, 2006. Martin was born Sept. 2, 1931, in Hondo. The Church was open for Visitation on Monday, Dec. 4, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass was held Monday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Rosary was recited on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 10 a.m. at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment followed the Rosary at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Castroville.

W. L. “Dub” DuBose, age 76, of Devine passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006 in Lubbock. Visitation was held Tuesday, Nov. 28 at the Hurley Funeral Home from 2 until 9 p.m. Funeral service was conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the First United Methodist Church, Devine with Rev. Mark Brechin officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery.

Eura Lee Edwards, age 89 of Devine, passed away Friday, November 10, 2006, in Lytle. Funeral services Thursday, November16, at 1p.m. at the Chapel of Hurley Funeral Home, Devine. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.

Dixie Ann Winters Devers Fite of Hondo, 62, passed away Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 9, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. A complete obituary will be published next week.

Frederick Fuhrmann, 85, of San Antonio passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006. He was born in Fredericksburg, March 25, 1921. Graveside service held at 2 p.m on Monday, Nov. 20, at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Freddy Allen Gabrysch, age 76, of Devine passed away Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006 in Pleasanton. Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, in the Chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery.

Celso Gonzales, 90, of Hondo passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 10, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service will be held Saturday, 10 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hondo. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery. A complete obituary will be published next week.

Eduardo Guajardo, age 29 of San Antonio, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2006. Visitation Thursday, November 16, from 3:30-9 p.m. with Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at the Chapel of Hurley Funeral Home, Devine. Mass celebrated Friday, Nov. 17, at 10 a.m. at St Josephs Catholic Church. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Anna Keller Boehme Haegelin, age 88, of Mico, passed away November 4, 2006, in Castroville. Anna was born Sept. 23, 1918, in Bexar County. The Funeral Mass was held Sunday, November 5, 2006, at St. Louis Catholic Church. The Rosary was recited Monday, Nov. 6, at St. Louis Catholic Church. Entombment followed the Rosary at St. Louis Cemetery Garden Mausoleum, Castroville.

Leon “Hansie” H. Haegelin, age 80, of Castroville, TX, passed away Nov. 20, 2006. Leon was born Apr. 7, 1926, in Rio Medina. The Rosary was recited Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. The Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 3 p.m. at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment followed the Funeral Mass at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Castroville, TX.

Melba Wurzbach Haegelin, age 90, of Rio Medina, passed away November 9, 2006, in Castroville. Melba was born Nov. 5, 1916, in Medina County. The Funeral Mass was held Monday, November 13, at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment followed at St. Louis Cemetery, Castroville.

Kyle Haffner-Heurion of Yancey, 16, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, in an automobile accident. He was a junior at Hondo High School and had recently transferred from Devine High School. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 10, 2 p.m., at Guinn-Horger Chapel. A complete obituary will be published next week.

Lorine May Keller, age 81, of Devine passed away Saturday, November 11, 2006, in San Antonio. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14 in the Black Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Jim Whitt officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery.

Harold J. “Bud” Jones, age 87, of Natalia, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2006 in San Antonio. Visitation held Tuesday, Dec. 5, from 2 until 9p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home, Lytle. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 10 a.m., at the Chapel of Hurley Funeral Home, Lytle. Interment followed at 1:30 p.m., at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Barbara Jean Lebel, age 73, of D’Hanis passed away on Nov. 27, 2006, in San Antonio. She will be buried with her son and parents on Feb. 24, 2007, in Fresno, CA.

Rex A. Lewis, age 72, of LaCoste, passed away Nov. 23, 2006. Rex was born May 4, 1934 in Des Moines, IA. A Memorial Mass was held on Sunday, Nov. 26, at 7:30 p.m. at the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in LaCoste.

Alfred M. Lutz, age 90, of D’Hanis passed away Friday, Nov. 17, 2006. He was born in D’Hanis Aug. 24, 1916. Rosary was recited at 9:45 a.m. prior to the 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D’Hanis, with Rev. Wallis J. Stiles officiating. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Evelyn “Marge” Marguerite Womack Mansfield, age 72, of San Antonio, passed away Nov. 18, 2006. Marge was born Sept. 19, 1934, in Yell County, AR. The Tondre- Guinn Funeral Home was open for Visitation on Friday, Nov. 24,from 5 to 8 p.m. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, Nov. 25, at 1:30 p.m. at the Tondre- Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. Interment followed the funeral service at the Castroville Community Cemetery, Castroville.

John William Martin. 86, of Hondo passed away on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006. He was born in Hondo, June 6, 1920. Graveside service was held at 10 a.m Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Hondo Cemetery, Oak-wood Section.

Edna L. Nietenhoefer, 85, passed away Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, in Hondo. She was born in Quihi on Jan. 7, 1921. Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Quihi. Burial was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Donald C. O’Neill, passed away Nov. 3, 2006. He was born May 6, 1942. Visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 9 in the Brookehill Chapel from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, at 10 a.m. in the Brookehill Chapel with interment to Follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Rita M. (Palmer) Richardson, 61, of Creekwood Ranch, Hondo, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006. She was born, September 11, 1945. Arrangements are pending. Guinn-Horger Funeral Home, Hondo

George E. Rucker, age 85, passed away Friday, November 10, 2006, at Arlington Memorial Hospital. George was born in Hondo on Nov. 9, 1921. Funeral services were held at Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Arlinton.

Edna Hicks Rushing age 81, of Rio Frio passed away at her home on November 13, 2006. She was born May 4, 1925, in Houston. Service was held Wednesday, Nov. 15 at the Frio Canyon Baptist Church in Leakey, with private family burial. Dr. Jim O’Dell officiated.

Albert Allen Sanders, 84, of Ranger, formerly of Hondo, passed away on Friday, Nov. 10, 2006. He was born in Ft. Sumter, NM, July 19, 1922. Graveside service was at 2 p.m Monday, Nov. 13, at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Inez Heinen Short, age 93, of Schertz, formerly of Hondo, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006. She was born in San Antonio March 8, 1913. Visitation was Friday, Dec. 1, and funeral service was Saturday at 1:30 p.m., both at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Burial was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Milton “Lefty” Tschirhart, age 85, of Castroville, passed away Nov. 29, 2006. Milton was born Jan. 3, 1921 in Castroville. The Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home was open for Visitation on Sunday, Dec. 3, from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. Funeral Mass held Sunday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Rosary was recited on Monday, Dec. 4, at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment with military honors followed the Rosary at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Castroville.

Joe Anthony Vosquez, loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle went to be with his lord and savior on Nov. 9, 2006. He was born Jan. 14, 1982, in Pearsall. Rosary was recited Friday, Nov. 17, and Funeral Mass was held Saturday, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m., both at St. John’s Catholic Church.

David Wayne Wilder, age 50, of Castroville, passed away Nov. 23, 2006. David was born Mar. 3, 1956 in Bonham. A Memorial was held on Monday, Nov. 27, at 7 p.m. at the Calvary Hills Baptist Church, 910 W. Loop 1604, San Antonio.

Carl E. “Woody” Wood, age 88, of Castroville, passed away Nov. 28, 2006. Carl was born Feb. 16, 1918 in Jeannette, PA. The Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home was open for Visitation on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. A Graveside Service with full military honors was held on Friday, Dec. 1, at 9:30 a.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in Ft. Sam Houston.
