Mildred Elizabeth Blackburn Ahr, age 89, of La Coste, passed away March 1, 2007. Mildred was born April 29, 1917 in Biry. The Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home open for Visitation on Friday, March 9, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Funeral Mass celebrated on Saturday, Mar. 10, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Interment at Lytle Masonic Cemetery, Lytle.

Manuel Arcos passed away peacefully with his family at his side March 29, 2007, at the age of 81. He was born in Hondo on January 4, 1926, into a loving family of 23 brothers and sisters. Rosary was recited at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Mass was celebrated Monday, April 2, at San Juan De Los Lagos Catholic Church. Interment followed at San Fernando Cemetery II.

John L. Bean, age 85, of Devine passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at his home. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 31, 2007, in the Chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home, with Dr. T. Glenn Young officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery.

Rosario deSola Bellan, age 98 of Castroville, passed away Friday, March 30, 2007, in King George, VA. Rosario was born June 20, 1908, in Hol-guin, Cuba. A graveside service was held Apr. 4, 2007, at Mission Park North Cemetery, San Antonio.

Frances Trinidad Baiz, age 62, passed away in Dallas on Mar. 15, 2007. She was born on Dec. 2, 1944 in Hondo. Services held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 24, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hondo.

Ella Marie Hitzfelder Bohl, age 94, of La Coste, passed away March 23, 2007 in Pleasanton. Ella was born Jan. 9, 1913 in rural La Coste. Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Interment followed the Mass at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in La Coste.

Shirley Jo Blaschke Brieden of Devine, born Dec. 8, 1953, in Vallejo, CA, died March 30, 2007, at the age of 53 in San Antonio. Rosary was recited Monday, April 2, 2007, in the Chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home. Mass was celebrated Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Msgr. Adolfo Valdivia-Aguirre officiating. Interment followed in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

Msgt Edward Wallis Davis, Sr. U.S. Army, retired, of Castroville, passed away March 14, 2007, at Lackland A.F.B. Edward was born March 7, 1937 in Sharon WV. The Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Interment followed at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Sarah Eugenia Day, age 85, of Castroville, passed away March 12, 2007. Sarah was born Aug. 11, 1921, in Waco. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, Castroville

Mary Ann Sence Estep, age 84, of Castroville, passed away Mar. 29, 2007. Mary Ann was born Aug. 17, 1922, in San Antonio. A Graveside Service was held Tuesday, Apr. 3, 2007 at at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, Ft. Sam Houston.

Jose M. Garcia, of D’Hanis passed away March 21, 2007, at the age of 60. Visitation was from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Mar. 23, at Hondo Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 24, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in D’Hanis. Interment followed in San Francisco Cemetery in D’Hanis.

Roman B. Garza, age 74, of Castroville, passed away March 11, 2007, in San Antonio. Roman was born Aug. 9, 1932, in Rio Medina. Funeral Mass was held Monday, March 12, 2007, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Rosary was held Mar. 13, 2007, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castro-ville. Interment followed the Rosary at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville.

Essie Mae (Bell) Grisham, age 96, of San Antonio and formerly of Hondo, passed away Sunday, Mar. 11, 2007. She was born Dec. 6, 1910, in San Antonio. Funeral service was held at First United Methodist Church in Hondo, 2 p.m., on Sunday, Mar. 18, with Rev. Andy Tyson and Rev. Bert Clayton officiating. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. A Memorial Service celebrating Essie Mae’s life was held at New Forest Estates Assisted Living, 2 p.m., Monday, Mar. 19.

Natalee Gean Hibbs, who died after birth on Mar. 23, 2007, is now resting and waiting for the resurrection. Survivors include her parents, Larry and Jennie Hibbs; sister, Bailee Hibbs; brother, Rylee Hibbs all of Castroville. The Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home open for gathering for the Memorial Service at 1p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 31, 2007. Memorial Service at 2 p.m.

Colby Adam Jonas, 24, of San Marcos, formerly of Castroville, passed away Mar. 14, 2007, in Austin. Colby was born December 13, 1982. Funeral Service was held Monday, March 19, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville. Interment followed the funeral service at Quihi Cemetery in Quihi.

Ida Schulte Koby, age 87, of Flushing, MI, passed away Saturday, Mar. 24, 2007 at Fostrian Assisted Living. She was born in 1920 in Yancey. Funeral Mass was held Thursday, Mar. 29 at St. Robert Catholic Church. Interment followed at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Marvin Koenig, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2007. He was born August 31, 1924, in Castroville. Service was held Tuesday, Mar. 27 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Castroville, at 1 p.m.

Deborah Ellen (Staunton) Kreger, age 39, of Hondo passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2007. She was born Dec. 8, 1967, in Whittier, CA. Graveside service and interment were Wednesday, Mar. 14, 2 p.m., at Hondo Cemetery, St. John’s Section, with Rev. Jeff Pehl officiating.

Anneliese Engel Morton, born Jan. 21, in Germany, passed away Mar. 6, 2007, in Hondo. A memorial service will be held at a date in the near future.

Michael Joe Murphy, age 48, of Bigfoot, passed away Friday, March 23, 2007, in Bigfoot. He was born in San Antonio, August 20, 1958. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. in Longview Cemetery with Pastor Keith Dennis officiating.

Jennifer Margaret Jones Neuman, age 37, of Camp Wood, returned home to the Father on Friday, March 23, 2007, from the Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital in San Antonio. Jennifer was born on Dec. 4, 1969, in Beaumont. Services were held Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at the First Baptist Church in Camp Wood. Interment followed at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Camp Wood. Pastor Nancy Littlefield officiated.

Samuel Z. Parks Jr.,age 5, of Hondo passed away Mar. 31, at Methodist Children’s Hospital in San Antonio. He was born in Springerville, AZ, to Samuel Z. Parks and Kathleen Lily Parks on Jan. 31, 2002. Sammy is survived by his parents, Sam and Kathy of Hondo and four loving sisters: Whitney Parks of Juneau, AK, Elizabeth Davis, Coty Davis and Kendra Parks all of Hondo. A funeral service was held on Monday, April 2, at Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter-Day Saints in Hondo. Interment followed in the Hondo Cemetery.

Nolan Ray Ricord, age 80, of Hondo, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2007, in Hondo. A graveside service was held on Mar. 12. Interment followed in Moore Memorial Cemetery, Moore.

Andrea (Gauna) Rodriguez, age 79, of Hondo passed away Friday, March 30, 2007. She was born in Yancey, Nov. 29, 1927. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday, April 2, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. The Funeral Mass was on Tuesday, 11 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Raimundo “Ray” Garza Ruiz, age 74, of Castroville, passed away Feb. 17, 2007, in San Antonio. Ray was born Oct. 8, 1932 in Thelma. Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment followed the Mass at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville.

Luis F. “Louie” Saucedo, age 81, of Hondo passed away Monday, Mar. 26, 2007. He was born in Pearsall Aug. 18, 1925. Rosary was recited Tuesday, led by Joe Mares, and Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, Mar. 27, by Rev. Jeff Pehl, both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Ida Alice Scitern, age 92, of Devine, passed away at her residence, Thursday, Mar. 29, 2007. A graveside Service was held Saturday, Mar. 31, 2007 at 2 p.m., in Evergreen Cemetery, Devine.

Malinda Margarete Wehmeyer Stein, passed away March 17, 2007. She was born February 21, 1919, near Helotes. Rosary was Wednesday, Mar. 21, 2007, at 7 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass begain at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Mar. 22, 2007 at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.

Luvinina E. Stuart of Moore, passed March 9, 2007. Funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, Mar. 13, at the funeral home with interment following at San Fernando Cemetery #3. Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, S.A.

Eligah Taylor, age 77, of Hondo passed away Monday, Mar. 19, 2007. Visitation held from 5 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 22 at Hondo Funeral Home. Funeral Service held at Hondo Funeral Home on Friday, Mar. 23 at 11 a.m. Interment in Cotton Wood Cemetery.

Alice Elizabeth Trafton passed away March 26, 2007, in Houston, at the age of 90. She was born in LaCoste on Oct. 22, 1916. Rosary recited on March 30 at Brookehill Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral was held Saturday, Mar. 31, at Our lady of Grace Catholic Church in LaCoste. Burial followed in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in LaCoste.

John “Hans” Walch, age 91, of Quihi passed away Tuesday, Mar. 27, 2007. He was born in Fredericksburg Mar. 6, 1916. Graveside service at 2 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 29, at Quihi Cemetery.

Jessie Mae Wiemers, age 77, of Yancey, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2007 in Hondo. She was born in Black Creek, July 1, 1929. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at Tomerlin Cemetery with Pastor John Bishop officiating.
