HERALDING THE REGION V CHAMPS… Steve Mueller (from left), Georgia Ann Pope, and Rebecca, Elliott and Mike Hackebeil paused with a copy of the Anvil Herald at the National Junior College Athletic Association Region V Tournament in Fort Worth last week. Elliott, a 2007 Hondo High School graduate, and his team, the Temple College Leopards, won the regional title and will advance to the NJCAA Division I JUCO World Series starting this Saturday in Grand Junction, CO. The Leopards will open play against Faulkner State Community College from Alabama. Elliott is batting .323 as the Leopards’ starting third baseman.
