Jamie Ann Mathis and Matthew Michael Dodson exchanged wedding vows May 15, 2010, in the United Methodist Church in Sabinal. The Reverends Robert Richarz and Don Snyder officiated at the double-ring ceremony that began at 4 p.m. The bride is the daughter of Betty and Eddie Mathis of Sabinal. She is the granddaughter of the late Edgar Kincaid and Jewel K. Kincaid and the late Evan Mathis and Alice Ann and Jim Harris all who resided near Sabinal. She graduated from Sabinal High School in 2002 and Texas A&M University in College Station in 2006, earning a bachelor of business administration degree in finance. The groom is the son of Phyllis Dodson and the late Mike Dodson of Sabinal. He is the grandson of the late Lucille and Doc Dodson of Sabinal and Roy and Dolores Wilson of Yancey. He is a graduate of Sabinal High School, Texas A&M University at College Station and St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a cap-sleeved dress with a lace bodice and lace appliqué on the modified trumpet skirt. The waist was adorned with a beaded satin ribbon, tied in a simple bow below the keyhole feature in the back. She wore a gold necklace with a gold nugget set with her grandmother’s engagement diamond. The church pews were decorated with arrangements of sunflowers and bluebonnets. Two huge arrangements of sunflowers stood in the pulpit area. Matron of honor was Kimbra Brown, sister of the groom. Bridesmaids were Chesney Brown, niece of the bride and Jennifer Cates, niece of the groom. They wore matching yellow dresses. Flower girls, Macie Lippke, Reagan Dodson, Payton Dodson and Laine Beard, all nieces of the bride and groom, wore white sundresses printed with large sunflowers. Best man was Patrick Dodson, brother of the groom. Will Dodson, cousin of the groom, was the groomsman. Ringbearers were Koen Lippke and Joaquin Beard, nephews of the bride and groom. Ushers were Holly Yamamoto, Jacob Brown and James Kincaid. Organist was Glenda Story. A reception hosted by the bride’s parents was held at the Locomotive 501 Ranch south of Uvalde at 6:30 p.m. following the wedding ceremony. Hollis and Patsy Kincaid, Dan and Judy Kincaid and James Kincaid welcomed the guests to the party. A fajita dinner with all the trimmings was served followed by a dance. Chris Story was master of ceremonies and led the evening in a fun and joyful time of celebration and visiting. The bride’s cake, featuring three different flavors and covered with white icing, was graced with sunflowers cascading from top to bottom. The chocolate groom’s cake was topped with a John Deere tractor. Peggy Rakowitz and Beth Schott, aunts of the groom, served the cakes. Following a honeymoon trip to Cozumel, Mexico, the couple is residing in Sabinal.
