Thoro Lee "Crickett" Amberson of Hondo passed away July 12, 2004, at the age of 68. Crickett was born Dec. 26, 1935 in Medina. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 15, at the First United Methodist Church of Hondo. Interment will be in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

RoseMary Milecky Avila, age 49, of La Coste passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2004. Rose was born April 21, 1955, in Castroville . Visitation Thursday, July 22, 1 to 8:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste and Rosary / Prayer service, led by Rev. Memo Arino, at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass, celebrated by Msgr. Thomas Palmer, Friday, July 23, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace. Interment in the church cemetery.

Freddie Jerald "Fred" Barnes, age 64, of Castroville, passed away on Monday, July 19, 2004. Fred was born Nov. 1, 1939, in Rotan. Funeral service Thursday, July 22, at 2:30 p.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Jennings officiating. Interment at Castroville Community Cemetery.

Louis William "Louie" Biediger of Midlothian, formerly of La Coste, passed away on his 54th birthday, July 7, 2004. Born in Castroville in 1950, he grew up in La Coste and was a 1968 graduate of Medina Valley High School. Graveside service was held July 9, 2004, 3 p.m., at Dallas/Ft.Worth National Cemetery. There was a Memorial Mass, celebrated by his uncle, Msgr. Roy Rihn, at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 17, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in LaCoste.

Rogelio "China" Bermudez, age 50, of Hondo, entered into rest on July 22, 2004. Visitation was from 2 to 9 p.m. and Prayer service was at 7 p.m. Monday, July 26, at Hondo Funeral Home. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, at Iglesia Del Nuevo Testamento, Hondo. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery.

Maurice "Skipper" Black-shear, age 47, of Houston passed away July 17, 2004. Skipper was born Jan. 19, 1957 in Hondo. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 23, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home in Hondo. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at the West End Baptist Church in Hondo. Interment at the Cottonwood Cemetery, Hondo.

Mildred Copus passed away on her 93rd birthday, July 2, 2004, in Kerrville. Memorial servicewas held at the Tarpley Baptist Church, Tarpley, on Saturday, July 17, 2004, at 11 a.m.

Amelia Katherine (Saathoff) Cowan of Hondo passed away July 3, 2004, at the age of 93 years, 4 months, 22 days. Amelia was born Feb. 11, 1911, in D'Hanis. Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 9, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. Interment was in the WOW Cemetery, D'Hanis.

Josephine Ann Freehauf, age 65, entered into rest July 17, 2004 at her daughter's home in San Antonio, Texas. At her request, she was cremated. A small memorial service was held Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Harvest Fellowship Community Church in San Antonio.

Altugracia M. "Gracia" Guerrero, age 75, of Hondo passed away July 21, 2004. Gracia was born April 16, 1929, in Crystal City. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday, July 23, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.

Ynocencio "Jim" Gutierrez, age 87, of Castroville, formerly of Saginaw, MI, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2004. Jim was born Dec. 28, 1916, in Seguin. Visitation was held at Tondre-Guinn Chapel Friday, July 16. Visitation at Deisler Funeral Home in Saginaw, MI, was on Tuesday, July 20, and funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 21. Burial was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Saginaw, MI.

Rica Regina Harllee, age 82, of San Antonio went to be with her Lord Thursday, July 15, 2004. Rica was born Jan. 15, 1922, in Hondo. Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in San Antonio, followed by a funeral service at 3:30 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hondo. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood
Section.

Erwin Lester "Les" Higbee of Castroville, age 62, passed away July 12, 2004. He was born Jan. 4, 1942, in Palmyra, NY. Visitation was 4 - 8 p.m. on Friday, July 16, with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at Hondo Funeral Home. He was cremated and returned to his birth place. In lieu of flowers make donations to Hondo Funeral Home.

Margaret Hornbostel, age 88, formerly of Devine, passed away July 16, 2004, in Louisiana. Visitation and funeral service were held Tuesday, July 20, at
Hurley Funeral Home Chapel, Devine with Bro. Dan Pitts officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery.

Leora Jane King of Brenham passed away July 4, 2004, at the age of 83 years. Leora was born Feb. 6, 1921. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 8, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Quihi. Interment followed in Quihi Cemetery.

Thomas Joe Long, age 73, passed away July 30, 2004. He was born in Abilene, March 7, 1931.
Visitation was from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4. Funeral service at 12 noon, Thursday, Aug. 5 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Interment followed at Mission Burial Park North Cemetery.

Alice Rose Leinweber, age 89, of Hondo passed away Friday, July 23, 2004. Alice was born Nov. 19, 1915 in Hondo. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. Interment was at the Hondo Cemetery, WOW Section.

Melva Ruth Masters passed away July 15, 2004, after a lengthy illness. Visitation was held Sunday, July 18, at the Funeral Home, Funeral Service was held Monday, July 19 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Lytle with Bro. Grady Summers officiating. Interment followed at Lytle Community Cemetery.

Charles David "Bob" Moseley, age 69, of Hondo, died Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at his residence. He was born Sept. 26, 1934 in Cleburne. Graveside service was held Saturday, July 31, at 3:30 p.m. at Bandera Cemetery, under the auspices of the Masonic Lodge of Bandera.

Charles John "CJ" Pichot, age 87, of Hondo, passed away July 9, 2004. CJ was born on March 13, 1917, in Hondo. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 11, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Louisa Rodriguez, age 75, of Devine, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2004, in San Antonio. Rosary was recited Wednesday, July 21 in the Chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home, Devine. Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 22, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Natalia. Interment at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Devine.

Homer A. Rothe, age 94, passed away July 27, 2004. He was born Nov. 6, 1909 on a family ranch in Hondo. Visitation was Friday, at G. W. Cox Memorial Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services was Saturday at Sacred Heart Church with Father Jim Fischler, C.I.C.M. officiating. Burial was at Sacred Heart Cemetery. The U.S. Coast Guard provided Military Honors.

Ward S. Sanders Sr. of Lytle passed away on July 2, 2004, after a lengthy illness. Born in Abilene in 1925, he was raised in Three Rivers and Live Oak County. Funeral service was held Tuesday, July 6, at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Lytle. Interment was in Lytle Community Cemetery.

Carole Rose Rihn Schulte of Dilley passed away July 12, 2004, at the age of 63 years. Carole was born Dec. 22, 1940 in Castroville. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 14, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. Interment was in Quihi Cemetery.

Jessie Wilburn Scott, 86, of Natalia passed away Saturday, July 3, 2004, in San Antonio. Funeral service was Wednesday, July 7, in the Chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery.

Frank H. Silvey, 88, of Devine passed away Thursday, July 8, 2004. Funeral service was held Sunday, July 11, at the Church of Christ building in Devine. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Leroy E. Solbrig, age 71, of San Antonio passed away Saturday, July 17, 2004, in Fredericksburg . Visitation was Monday, July 19 in Schaetter Funeral Home Chapel in Fredericksburg. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 20 at St. John's Lutheran Church in San Antonio with Rev. Tom Robison officiating. Graveside services and interment were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Greenwood Cemetery, Fredericksburg.

Pearl Alice Sprenger of Hondo, passed away July 1, 2004, at the age of 80 years. Pearl was born on June 18, 1924, in Oakland, CA. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, at the St. Paul
Lutheran Church. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Patricia Ann (Cochran) Thompson of Hondo passed away July 5, 2004, at the age of 72 years. Patricia was born December 3, 1931, in Houston. Memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 10, at the Hondo Health Care and Rehab Center. A memorial service was also held in California on Saturday, July 17.

Charles Henry Walter Jr., age 86, passed away July 18, 2004. He was born in San Antonio on Dec. 10, 1917. Funeral service was held Wednesday, July 21, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Interment followed at Mission Burial Park South with Military Honors.

Ernest Ray Walton, age 48, of Sabinal passed away Saturday, July 17, 2004. Ernest was born on August 30, 1955, in Uvalde. Graveside service, followed by interment, was at 5:30 p.m. Monday, July
19, at Sabinal Cemetery.

Victoria "Tori" Nicole Wright-Bippert, age 16, of Castroville passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2004. Tori was born March 19, 1988, in San Antonio to Michele Wright-Walden and Jason Bippert. Visitation was Wednesday, July 21, at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, with Funeral Mass held at 7 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. The Rosary recited Thursday, July 22, 10 a.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church with Rev. Mike Horan officiating at both services. Interment at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Castroville.

Valentina Hernandez "Nicky" Zepeda, age 71, of Castroville, passed away July 8, 2004. Nicky was born Feb. 14, 1933, in Castroville.
