AARP meeting

The next meeting of the Hondo Chapter #2543 of AARP will be on Thu. Mar. 4, 10 a.m., Hondo Community Ctr.

Sisters, Inc.

**LOCATION CHANGE** The organizational mtg. of Sisters, Inc. today (Thurs.), Mar. 4, will be held at the Hondo Art League bldg. on Harper Rd., at 10 a.m., across from the new Hondo Airport Terminal and west of Ric Taylor Rec Ctr. Sisters, Inc, is a new club for women who like to have fun AND make a positive difference in their community.

St. Joseph’s Festival

Tex Hill Wing CAF

The Tex Hill Wing of the Commemorative Air Force, now based in Hondo, will meet Sun., Mar. 14, 2 p.m., Hondo Municipal Airport Terminal. Public welcome. The CAF, formerly known as the Confederate Air Force, is a Texas-based non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and showing historical, military aircraft at air shows primarily throughout the U.S. and Canada. Free fun, fitness

WalkAcross Texas! is a free, fun-and-fitness program for everyone. An 8-week walking program for teams of eight people, teams have a friendly competition to see who can log the most miles. For more info, call Medina County Extension Ofc., 741-6180, or the Wesley Nurse, 426-5532.

AARP Free Tax Help

AARP’s free tax help sessions are every Fri. through Apr. 9, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Hondo Public Library. All participants need to bring 1098T, all receipts for college text books, receipts for personal property taxes paid in 2009, bill of sale on new car purchased after Feb. 16, 2010, and any other items that would assist in the best tax advice. Gifted and Talented

HISD is accepting nominations for the Gifted/Talented Program for the 2009-2010 school year. Nominations will be accepted March 8-26, for students in Grades 1-11. Anyone can nominate a student for the program by contacting the counselor at the student’s campus.

Bosom Buddies Breast Cancer Support Group

The Breast Cancer Support Group will NOT meet Wed., March 10, due to Lent Services. Monthly mtgs resume April 13 at 6 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Hondo.
