Herbert Frank Adam

Herbert Frank Adam, age 83, of San Antonio (formerly of LaCoste and Kerrville) passed away Aug. 23, 2001, in San Antonio. He was born Aug. 15, 1918, in LaCoste to the late Joseph Jacob Adam and Ida Haegelin Adam. He retired from Kelly AFB in 1975 after 28 years of service. He was a member of the VFW Post #8134. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in LaCoste. Interment: Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery, LaCoste.

Mary Helen Romero Balderrama
Mary Helen Romero Balderrama, age 67, of LaCoste passed away Aug. 2, 2001, in San Antonio. She was born July 22, 1934, in San Antonio to the late Crescencion Romero and Guadalupe Garza Romero. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and the VFW Post 8134 Ladies Auxiliary.
Funeral Mass: Monday, Aug. 6, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Interment: Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery.

Hilmer Ernest Bendele
    Hilmer Ernest Bendele, age 76, of San Antonio passed away Friday, Aug. 31, 2001. He was born in Dunlay July 25, 1925.     Hilmer retired from San Antonio City Public Service Board as a safety supervisor after 36 years of service.
    Funeral Mass: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church. Interment: Hondo Cemetery.

Carroll Dennis Biediger

Carroll Dennis Biediger, originally of LaCoste, passed away on Aug. 26, 2001, at the age of 58. He was born Mar. 27, 1943 to Richard and Rose Reicherzer Biediger. Funeral Mass of the Resurrection: 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 29, at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in San Antonio. Interment: Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Floyd Franklin Bradley

Floyd Franklin Bradley, age 62, of Castroville passed away Aug. 24, 2001, at home. He was born April 4, 1939, in Robert Lee. Mr. Bradley had retired from Southwest Research, where he had worked as a research assistant. No services are scheduled at this time.

   Irene L.Schweers Bradley, age 91, of San Antonio passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, in Hondo. She was born in Hondo, Dec. 23, 1909.

   Reverend Charles J. Bush, age 66, of Devine passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, in San Antonio.

Jesse Costa, age 59, of Hondo passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2001, in Hondo. He was born in Kerrville on May 20, 1942.

PATRICK JOHN DONAHUE
Patrick John Donahue, age 53, of San Antonio passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, after a valiant fight with cancer. He was born June 14, 1948, in San Antonio.

LUZ GARCIA DURON
Luz Garcia Duron, age 97, of LaCoste passed away Aug. 7, 2001, in San Antonio, with her daughters at her side. She was born Dec. 1, 1903, in LaCoste to the late Sixto Garcia and Modesta Duron Garcia.

Geraldine "Jerry" Masters Eardley

Geraldine "Jerry" Masters Eardley, age 74, of Castroville passed away Aug. 24, 2001, in San Antonio. She was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Springdale, AR, to the late Pat C. and Maude Anderson Masters. Jerry owned and operated Cora's Cafe for 35 years. When she became ill, she sold the cafe and retired. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Interment: Mission Burial Park South in San Antonio.

Yolanda Botello Galvan, age 64, of San Antonio passed away Aug. 1, 2001. She was born in San Antonio, Mar. 12, 1937.

William V. Glenn, M.D.

William V. Glenn, M.D., F.A.C.S, age 85, of San Antonio, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001. He was a member of the Emergency Room staff at Methodist and Baptist hospitals as well as the medical clinic in Hondo. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Monday in the Church of Reconciliation Episcopal, San Antonio.

August Valentine "Bill" Hardt

Former Arizona State Senator August Valentine "Bill" Hardt of Globe, AZ, age 94, passed away on Aug. 1, 2001. Born Nov. 12, 1906, in Leinweber Settlement, near Hondo, he was the son of Henry Lee and Katherine (Leinweber) Hardt. He grew up in the Hondo area. Funeral: Tuesday, Aug. 7, at the Miami High School Auditorium in Miami, AZ. Interment: Globe (AZ) Cemetery.

Richard Lane "Rick" Heston
Richard Lane "Rick" Heston, age 41, of LaCoste passed away Aug. 16, 2001, in Bexar County. He was born on Sept. 15, 1959, in San Antonio. Graveside service: Saturday, Aug. 18, 10 a.m. at Devine Evergreen Cemetery. Mary Frances Keller
    Mary Frances Keller, age 84, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001. She was born on Oct. 4, 1916.
    She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and many other organizations. She was the first woman vice president in San Antonio, working at Alamo National Bank for 42 years.

Hershel Lloyd Lawrence
Hershel Lloyd Lawrence, age 69, of Hondo passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2001, at the Methodist Hospital, San Antonio. He was born May 21, 1932, in Mexico, MO. He was employed at Kaiser Refractories for 22 years. He and his wife Amber owned and operated The Blue Room Lounge in Mexico, as well as two in Texas. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and was stationed in Germany for several months. He lived in Mexico and the surrounding area before moving to Texas in 1972.
Memorial service at 2 p.m. Monday, December 17, at the SKP Park on Old Hwy 90, west of Hondo near D'Hanis.

Arnulfo C. Leal
Arnulfo C. Leal, age 94, of Yancey passed away Aug. 31, 2001, in Hondo. He was born in Mexico Oct. 7, 1906, and was a farmer.
Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 3, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis. Interment: Yancey Cemetery, Yancey.

MILDRED VERA LEWIS
Mildred Vera Lewis, age 85, of Hondo, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001.
   She married Vernon Howard Lewis on Aug. 1, 1940, in Goldthwaite and was a homemaker.
   Funeral service: 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Stacy-Wilkins Chapel. Interment: Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery.

JESSE W. LOWERY
   Jesse W. Lowery passed away Aug. 10, 2001, in Devine at the age of 78.

    Maria Campos Mendoza, 81, of De Soto passed away Aug. 12, 2001. She was born June 4, 1920, in Hondo.

Domingo Miranda Jr.

Domingo Miranda Jr., age 82, of Hondo passed away Aug. 22, 2001, in San Antonio. He was born in Hondo, Jan. 19, 1919. Mr. Miranda was retired from the railroad. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment: Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Annie A. Morris, born April 6, 1907, in Devine died Aug. 26, 2001, in San Antonio at the age of 94 years. Graveside service: Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Sunset Memorial Park, San Antonio.

Dennis P. "Pat" Mullen
   Dennis P. "Pat" Mullen, died Aug. 2, 2001. He was born on Mar. 1, 1944.
  Funeral Mass: St. Julia Catholic Church, 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4. Interment: Assumption Cemetery in Austin.

James Michael "Mike" and Tammy Janemae Muennink
Husband and wife, James Michael "Mike" and Tammy Janemae(Swan) Muennink died in a truck accident in Georgia Aug. 15, 2001. They were residents of Hondo and formerly of Austin. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, at Oak Meadow Baptist Church in Austin. Graveside service: 4 p.m. at the Hondo Cemetery.

Louise B. Rodgers
Louise B. Rodgers, age 100 years, of Devine passed away in Devine, Aug. 29, 2001. She was born in Waxahachie on May 9, 1901.

Ronald "Ronnie" Robert Ruiz
    Ronald "Ronnie" Robert Ruiz, age 23, of San Antonio died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, in an automobile accident.

Filson Richard Russell
    Filson Richard Russell, infant son of Richard Wesley and Hazel Haby Russell of Castroville, was stillborn Aug. 29, 2001.
   A private service for the family was held Sept. 3. Interment: St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.

Frances Irene Ralaford Salzman
Frances Irene Ralaford Salzman, age 79, of LaCoste passed away Aug. 19, 2001, at home. She was born Aug. 10, 1922, in Florence, IL. Irene was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, St. Ann's Society, VFW Auxiliary Post 8134, American Legion Weiss-Wurzbach Auxiliary Post 460, Catholic Life LaCoste Branch and Hermann Sons. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22. Interment: Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in LaCoste. Heather Marie Tracy
Heather Marie Tracy, age 19, passed away in San Antonio Aug. 14, 2001. She was born in Alamogordo, NM, on Aug. 25, 1981. She was a former resident of Heritage Manor in Hondo and the daughter of Kelvin and Danette (Severtson) Hales of Aiea, HI. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18 at Guinn-Horger Chapel.

Esther R. Trulson

Esther R. Trulson, born June 6, 1910, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 28, 2001, at the age of 92 years. She was the daughter of the former long-time Medina County Schools Superintendent W. N. Saathoff and Louise Faseler Saathoff. Mrs. Trulson was a supervisor and was with the music department at Edgewood Independent School District in San Antonio for 38 years. Funeral service: Friday at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1006 16th St., Hondo. Interment: Hondo Cemetery, Woodmen of the World Section.

Charles Willingham
   Charles Willingham, age 73, of Annapolis, MD, formerly of Sabinal, died Aug. 5, 2001, at home of lung and brain cancer. Willingham graduated from Baylor University
   Memorial service: Saturday, Sept. 8, at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church of Sabinal.

Chalee Jane Wootan
   Chalee Jane Wootan brought love and joy to her parents, Trudy Ann Dixon and Jerry Dean Wootan Jr. and loved ones for seven months. Chalee entered their lives on Dec. 13, 2000, and left them on Aug. 5, 2001.
   Funeral service: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at Glory Bound Baptist Church. Burial: Mission Burial Park South, San Antonio.
