Pablo Barrientes, age 52, of Hondo passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007. He was born in Hondo, November 14, 1954. Rosary was recited Tuesday, April 17, at Guinn-Horger Chapel and Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Tillie Marie Bayer, age 84, went to be with our Lord, with her loving family at her bedside on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, after a courageous fight with Chronic Lymphoma Leukemia. Born on March 16, 1923 in Castroville. The Rosary was held on Friday, Apr. 27, 2007 at 7 p.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. A Prayer Service was held Saturday, Apr. 28, 2007 at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. Interment followed the Prayer Service at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Castroville.

Francis Louis Biediger, age 83, a life long resident of La Coste, passed away April 9, 2007 at his home. He was born February 1, 1924 in La Coste. Rosary was Wednesday, Apr. 11 at 7 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, Castroville. Funeral Mass was Thursday, Apr. 12, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Interment at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in La Coste with military honors.

James “Jimmy” E. Bohl, age 50, of Devine passed away April 23, 2007. A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, April 26, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Devine with Father Jose F. Puente officiating. Interment followed in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

Maria Anna Boone, age 82, passed away April 10, 2007, in San Antonio. She was born Dec. 8, 1924, in Poland. Funeral service was held on April 12, 2007, at Hurley Funeral Home in Devine. Interment followed in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Annie Melissa (Smith) Breiten, age 89, of Hondo passed away Thursday, April 26, 2007. Annie was born near Pearsall Jan. 25, 1918. Funeral service was held Monday, Apr. 30, 10 a.m., at First Baptist Church, Hondo. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Judge Joe E. Briscoe, passed away Wednesday, April 4, at his home in Devine. He was born in Devine on May 8, 1914. Graveside services were conducted Saturday, April 7, at Evergreen Cemetery, with interment immediately following. A Memorial Service was held Saturday, April 7, at the First Baptist Church in Devine.

Dorothy May Brown, entered eternal rest on April 21, 2007, in San Antonio. She was born August 12, 1907, in Manchester, England. Memorial service will be held Friday, April 27, 2007, at 10 a.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville.

Floyd Wayne Chain, Jr., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Apr. 24, 2007. Wayne was born Apr. 1, 1944, in Robstown. Funeral Service was held Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. at the Castroville First Baptist Church in Castroville. Interment followed at 11:30 a.m. at Ft. Sam Houston.

Bill Coffey, age 84, of Vanderpool, died on Saturday, April 21, 2007, in Kerrville. He was born on April 28, 1922, in Hondo. Funeral services were held Monday, April 23, 2007, at Grimes Funeral Chapels with Pastor Gerald Harvey officiating. Interment followed in Tarpley Cemetery.

John Curcio, age 58 of Devine, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2007 in San Antonio. Rosary was recited at the funeral home Monday, April 9. Mass was celebrated Tuesday, April 10, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment was at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

Ruth King English, 97 of Devine, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2007, in Devine. Funeral services were held Monday, April 9, in the Chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery.

George Frederick ‘Fred’ Fowler, age 60 of Atascosa, passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2007, in San Antonio. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 7, at the Chapel of Hurley Funeral Home, Lytle. Graveside Services followed in Wilson Valley Cemetery, Little River, TX.

Daniel Garcia Jr., age 42, of Hondo passed away, April 29, 2007. A Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 2, Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery.

Inez Heathcock, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, passed away on April 21, 2007, at the age of 84 in Jourdanton. She was born July 7, 1922, in the McNeil community near Luling. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at First Baptist Church, Devine. Interment was at the Devine Evergreen Cemetery.

Frank Jason Hernandez, age 21, of Hondo passed away on April 16, 2007. Rosary was recited on Wednesday, April 18 at Hondo Funeral Home. Funeral Mass at noon at St. John’s Catholic Church on Thursday, April 19. Interment in Hondo Cemetery.

Wesley Hutzler, age 92, of La Coste, passed away April 28, 2007, in Hondo. Wesley was born Oct. 3, 1914, in Dunlay. The Rosary was Sunday, April 29, 2007 at 7 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. The Mass of Resurrection was Monday, April 30, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Interment followed the mass at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery.

James William Jarred, entered eternal rest on April 23, 2007, in San Antonio. James was born February 2, 1940, in Battleground, IN. Graveside Service held Thursday, April 26, 2007, at 2:30 p.m. at the Castroville Community Cemetery in Castroville.

Diana Olive Lesieur, age 69, of Devine passed away Saturday, April 21 in Modesto, CA. Funeral Service was held on Friday, April 27, at 10 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel in Devine, with Pastor Keith Dennis officating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

Ruth Zelma (Duderstadt) Love, age 97 of Yancey, passed away Monday, April 2, 2007. She was born in Mountain Home, October 25, 1909. Funeral service was held Saturday at Yancey Methodist Church. Interment was at Yancey Cemetery.

Elsa Martinez, age 56, of Hondo passed away Sunday, April 15, 2007. She was born in Hondo, Jan. 28, 1951. Funeral service was held Tuesday, April 17, 3 p.m., at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section. A complete obituary will be published next week.

Julia (Reyes) Peralta, age 56 of San Antonio, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2007. She was born in Hondo, July 25, 1950. Rosary, led by Juventina Correa, Saturday, April 7, was followed immediately by the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Jeff Pehl, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Donald Lynn Scott, age 41, of Devine passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007 in San Antonio. Graveside service held at 11a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Evergreen Cemetery, with Pastor Pete Pawelek officiating.

Celia M. Reily, 79 of Devine, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2007. Celia was born in Anson. Graveside services were conducted Wednesday, April 11, at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Victor Martinez Rico Jr., age 68 of Hondo, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2007, at Galveston. He was born Sept. 15, 1938, in Hondo. A private burial will be held.

Guadalupe Soto, age 82, passed away at her residence on Sunday, April 22, 2007. Rosary was recited on April 25 at the Chapel of Hurley Funeral Home. Mass celebrated Thursday, April 26, 2007, at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Devine. Interment in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

Billie Louise Taggart, 85 of Greenville, passed away on April 15, 2007 at Parkland Memorial Hospital. She was born in Commerce, Texas on November 9, 1921. A memorial service was held at Wesley United Methodist Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Paul Gould and Rev. Jim Gatlin officiating.

Lorine Anna Zinsmeyer Taylor, age 92 of Hondo, passed away Monday, April 9, 2007, in Boerne. Rosary was recited Wednesday, April 11, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 12, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Entombment at Hondo Cemetery, St. John’s Mausoleum.

Diana Lydia Benites Trevino, entered eternal rest on April 18, 2007, in San Antonio. She was born February 9, 1961, in Del Rio. Rosary was recited April 22, 2007, at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass was held Monday, April 23, 2007, at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment followed in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
