Leroy A. Arnold Sr. of D'Hanis, age 76, passed away Friday, April 28, 2006, at home, surrounded by his family. Rosary was recited Sunday, April 30, and Funeral Mass was held Monday, May 1, both at Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis. Interment was at San Fernando Cemetery #2, San Antonio.

Elvira G. Barrios of Hondo, passed away April 18, 2006, at the age of 84. She was born January 15, 1922, in Hondo. The Rosary was Thursday, April 20, at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held Friday, April 21, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment was at the Hondo Cemetery, Guad-alupe Section.

Tommy Lee Blanton, age 68, of the Brown Ranch Community north of Hondo, died Saturday, April 29, 2006. He was born June 8, 1937, in Victoria. Memorial service on Friday, May 5, at 10 a.m. at Hondo First United Methodist Church. Military graveside service at 2:15 p.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio.

Neil Allen Briscoe, Jr., age 75, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2006, after a brief battle with cancer. His wife and son were by his side. Neil was born in Devine in his family's home on Thursday, February 26, 1931. Funeral service was held Friday, April 7, at First Baptist Church of Devine, with interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Dr. T. Glenn Young officiated.

Sotero "Joe" Cabrera of Yancey passed away Friday, April 21, 2006, at the age of 65. Rosary was recited Sunday, April 23, at Hondo Funeral Home. Graveside service and interment was at Yancey Cemetery.

Viola Emabell Calk of San Antonio passed away at her home on Friday, April 14, 2006, at the age of 83. She was born March 25, 1923, in Hondo. Funeral Service was held Monday, April 17, at the Los Angeles Heights United Methodist Church, in San Antonio. Interment was at New Fountain Cemetery.

Manuela Resendez Castro, 84, of Devine passed away Sunday, April 9, 2006. A Memorial Service held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at the Devine Community Center.

Carol Cotton of Bossier City, LA, died at his home after a lengthy illness on April 1, 2006, at the age of 74. Graveside service was held Friday, April 7, at Quihi Cemetery, Quihi.

Mary Louise Speer Davisson was born on Jan. 19, 1915, in Winters. Graveside service and interment was Monday, May 1 at Mountain Hope
Cemetery in Carrizo Springs.

Romana "Mona" Solis Frias, age 71, of La Coste, passed away April 11, 2006. Mona was born Aug. 9, 1934, in La Coste. Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, April 12, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Rosary recited Thursday, April 13, at 2 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. Interment follow the Rosary at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery, La Coste.

Aloni Rasha Shanté Fuller of Hondo passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2006, at the age of 58. She was born April 13, 1948, in Chicago, IL. A Memorial Mass was held Monday, May 1, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hondo.

Elsa Garcia of San Antonio, went to be with the Lord on April 19, 2006, at the age of 84. She was born January 12, 1953, in Hondo. The Rosary was Saturday, April 22, followed by the Funeral Mass, both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.

Luisa Garza, age 87, of Hondo passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2006. She was born in Hondo on June 21, 1918. Rosary was recited Monday, May 1, and the Funeral Mass was Tuesday, May 2, both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Hazel Easterling Fletcher Haby, age 92, of Sun City Center, FL, formerly of Castroville, passed away April 27, 2006, in Sun City Center. Hazel was
born June 16, 1913, in Prescott, AR. Memorial Mass of Resurrection was celebrated Tuesday, May 2, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment was Tuesday, May 2, at Ft. Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio.

Mary Ellison Harris, age 89, of Lockhart, died April 14, 2006. She was born June 5, 1916, in Caldwell County. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 18, at the Clearfork Baptist Church in Brownsboro Community with the Rev. Wayne McCrary officiating. Interment followed in the Clearfork Cemetery.

Lucia Hernandez, age 84, of Hondo, passed away Monday, May 1, 2006. Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Funeral Mass Friday, May 5, 2 p.m., at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment in Hondo Cemetery, GuadalupeSection.

Russell Joseph Jungman, age 66, of Hondo, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2006. Russell was born Aug. 17, 1939, in La Coste. Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, April 19, at St. Louis Catholic Church. Rosary recited Thursday, April 20, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment will be at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Johnny Lascano, Jr., 27, of Devine passed away Sunday, April 23, 2006. Visitation in the Chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home in Devine, Thursday, April 27, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, April 28, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, interment followed at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Devine.

Marie Elizabeth Lessing Marchiori, age 89, of San Antonio passed away May 1, 2006. Marie was born June 19, 1916, in Macdona. Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home opened for visitation Thursday, May 4, from 2 to 5 p.m., and Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Macdona. Funeral Mass held Friday, May 5, 10 a.m., at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Interment followed the Mass at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Macdona.

Rosemary Catherine Maples, age 58, of Hondo passed away April 29, 2006. She was born January 29, 1948, in Waterbury, CT. Funeral service was Thursday, May 4, at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment was at Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Mausoleum.

Juan Melendez, age 59, of Natalia passed away Sunday, April 9, 2006, in San Antonio. He was born December 8, 1946. Rosary was recited Wednesday, April 12, in the Chapel of Hurley
Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 13, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Arnulfo (Arnold) Menchaca, was born October 25, 1913, in Castroville, and passed on to a better life on April 7, 2006, at the age of 92. Rosary was recited Sunday, April 9, in the Chapel of Hurley Funeral Home, Lytle. Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, April 10, in St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Lytle. Interment followed in Lytle Community Cemetery.

Viola Mable Phillips of San Antonio passed away on April 15, 2006, at the age of 83, in a San Antonio hospital. She was born August 15, 1922, in
Quihi. Funeral Service was held Tuesday, April 18, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Interment was at the Quihi Cemetery.

Carlos M. Rangel, age 79, of Natalia passed away Sunday, April 9, 2006, in San Antonio. Rosary was recited Tuesday, April 11, in the Chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home. Mass was celebrated Wednesday, April 12, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Natalia. Interment followed at Moore Catholic Cemetery, Moore.

Albert Carl Reus of Hondo passed away Sunday, Apr. 2, 2006, at the age of 102 years, eight months and 25 days. Born on the family farm near LaCoste on July 8, 1903. The funeral service, officiated by Pastor David Mayer, was held Wednesday, April 5, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hondo. Burial was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Eusebio G. Rivera, of D'Hanis, passed away April 3, 2006, at the age of 82. Rosary was recited at Thursday, April 6, at Hondo Funeral Home. Funeral
Mass was held Friday, April 7, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D¹Hanis. Interment followed in San Francisco Cemetery, D'Hanis.

Howard Anthony Rothe passed away Monday, April 17, 2006, at the age of 90. Howard was born Jan. 2, 1916, on the family ranch in D'Hanis. Rosary Saturday, Apr. 22 at 10 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D'Hanis. The Very Reverend Wallis J. Stiles will officiate.

Hazel Schuchart Ruempel, age 92, of Castroville, passed away April 22, 2006, in Castroville. Hazel was born in Rio Medina, Nov. 17, 1913. Visitation on Friday, April 28, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. with Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. The
Mass of Resurrection celebrated Saturday, April 29, at 9 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Entombment followed the Mass at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Schertz.

Juan Garcia Salazar Sr., age 75, of San Antonio, passed away April 10, 2006. Juan was born March 30, 1931, in Harlingen. Rosary was recited Wednesday, April 12, at Tondre-Guinn Chapel. Funeral Mass Thursday, April 13, 9 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church, followed by interment in St. Louis Cemetery, Castroville.

Ray A. Sheldon, age 77, of Castroville, passed away April 29, 2006, at home. Ray was born Nov. 15, 1928, in Wichita Falls. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 3, at the First Baptist Church in Castroville. Graveside service held Thursday, May 4, at 9 a.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio. The funeral procession departed from Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home en route to the cemetery at 8 a.m. on Thursday, May 4.

Von Vernor, age 66, of Uvalde passed away April 28, 2006, in San Antonio after a long struggle with cancer. She was born May 11, 1939, in Harper. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 4, at Barksdale Baptist Church with the Rev. Carroll Vernor Jr. officiating. Interment was at Camp Wood Cemetery.

Irma Clara Van Overden-borger Verstuyft, age 89, of San Antonio, passed away April 15, 2006, in Castroville. Irma was born Jan. 20, 1917, in San Antonio. Funeral Mass was held Monday, April 17, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. The Rosary was recited Tuesday, April 18, at Tondre- Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. Interment at San Fernando II Cemetery in San Antonio.

Mariana Martinez Villarreal, age 93, passed away April. 30, 2006, in Atascosa. Born April 15, 1913, in San Antonio. Funeral service was held Tuesday, May 2, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Graveside service was Wednesday, May 3, at San Francisco Cemetery, D'Hanis.

Harold B. Warrick, 73, of Devine passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2006, in San Antonio. Funeral service was conducted Friday, April 21, in the First Baptist Church of Devine. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, with Dr. T. Glenn Young officiating.

Bernard Arnold "Bernie" Zerr, age 66, of Apopka, FL, passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, April 5, 2006, surrounded by his family and friends. Bernie was born in Hondo on Feb. 24, 1940. Funeral service was held Monday, April 10, at Trinity Baptist Church. A memorial held at St. John's Catholic Church on May 6 at 4 p.m.
