Barbara Jane Horton Aldrich, age 58, of San Antonio, passed away suddenly Sept. 6, 2007 at her home. Barbara was born Christmas Day, 1948. Graveside Services were Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007 at 4 p.m. at The Castroville Community Cemetery.

William Bryan “Bill” Bailey, age 54, of Sabinal passed away September 23, 2007, in Medina Community Hospital. He was born on August 24, 1953, in Hondo. Service was held Wednesday, Sept. 26, at First United Methodist Church in Sabinal at 10 a.m. Interment followed in Sabinal Cemetery. Rev. Stan Troy and Rev. Don Snyder officiated.

Bernard Allen “Bernie” Bernsen, age 66, of Quihi died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, in San Antonio. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. and Rosary recited at 7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 16, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 17, at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 10703 Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio. Interment at 1 p.m. at St. Luke (Loire) Cemetery, 3930 FM 536 (off IH 37) at Pleasanton.

Thomas Arthur Busby, Jr., age 55, of Somerset, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at his residence. Graveside Service was held at 11a.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, at Moore Memorial Cemetery, with interment immediately following. Pastor Mark Brechin of the 1st United Methodist Church of Devine officiating.

Ethel Julia Tschirhart Corder, age 90, of Castroville, passed away on Sept. 8, 2007. Ethel was born on Mar. 22, 1917, in Castroville. Visitation was on Tuesday, Sept. 11, from 12 to 8 p.m. with the Rosary at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 10 a.m at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment followed the Mass at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville.

Clay Lee Crabtree, age 60, of Natalia passed away on Sept. 2, 2007. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Devine. Funeral Mass at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Devine. Interment in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Alejos Fernandez, age 78 of Bandera, Texas, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2007 in Bandera. He was born on January 6, 1941 in Castroville. A rosary was recited on Sunday, Oct.14, at 7 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass was Monday, October 15, 2007 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Father George Montague officiating. Interment followed at New Catholic Cemetery.

Irma Dee “Jackie” (Cooper) Fuos, age 79, of Kerrville passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2007. Jackie was born Oct. 27, 1927, in Alcorn County, MS. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, and funeral service held at 11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 28, both at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Interment at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Armando M. Garza, age 51, formerly of Natalia, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007. Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 28, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home, Devine. Funeral Service held Saturday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m., in the Chapel of Hurley Funeral Home, Devine. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Devine.

Pedro “Pete” Gonzales, age 50, of Devine passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, at his residence. Rosary was recited Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home. Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment followed in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

Aline P. Bippert Haby, age 95, of Mico passed away on Sept. 17, 2007, in Castroville. Aline was born on July 25, 1912. Funeral Service held on Thursday, Sept. 20, at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville. Interment at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville.

Sheri Kaye Magers of Con Can, age 56, passed away on September 22, 2007. She was born March 22, 1951. A 9 a.m. funeral service was held at Living Waters Church in Utopia on Tuesday Sept. 25, 2007. Interment followed in Magers Crossing Cemetery, Con Can.

Jana Guajardo Ramos, age 26, of Devine passed away on September 17, 2007. Rosary recited at Hondo Funeral Home at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21. A 10 a.m. Funeral Mass was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Devine on Saturday, Sept. 22. Interment followed In Moore Catholic Cemetery, Moore.

Antonia R. Saldana, of Moore, formerly of Natalia, born June 13, 1918 in Moore, went to be with our Lord on Sept. 12, 2007 at the age of 89. Visitation was from 2 to 8 p.m. and 7 p.m. Rosary was held on Friday Sept. 14, at Hondo Funeral Home, Hondo. A 9 a.m. Funeral Mass was held at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Natalia, on Saturday Sept. 15. Interment followed in Moore Catholic Cemetery, Moore.

Alma Elsie Schmidt Schuh, age 87, of La Coste, passed away Sept. 15, 2007 in Castroville. She was born Aug. 24, 1920 in Wilson County. Rosary was recited Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. Funeral Mass was Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Interment in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in La Coste.

Clarence A. Stein, age 96, of La Coste, passed away Sept. 22, 2007 at home. Clarence was born on Jan. 8, 1911. Visitation was Monday, Sept. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service was held Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 100 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville. Interment followed at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Castroville.

Norma Tschirhart Verstuyft, age 68, of La Coste passed away Sept. 24, 2007, at home. She was born Aug. 31, 1939. Rosary was recited Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church in La Coste. Funeral Mass Thursday, Sept. 27, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Interment in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in La Coste.

Anita Emma (Wunderlich) Grell Zitelman, age 100 years and one month, of Hondo passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007. She was born Aug. 13, 1907, at Wied, Texas. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with Rev. David Mayer officiating. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
