Michael Allen Been, age 60, of San Antonio, passed away Oct. 10, 2004, at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland AFB. Michael was born Aug. 6, 1944, in San Antonio. Funeral service Thursday, Oct. 14, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Lytle. Interment will be at the Lytle Community Cemetery.

Dorothy Jean (Bendele) Boehme, age 70, a resident of Castroville, was born Aug. 29, 1934, in Hondo and passed away on Oct. 21, 2004. Funeral Mass was held Sunday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. and Rosary was recited Monday at 9:30 a.m., both at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment was at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.

Raymond Lester Capps, age 52, of Devine passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004. He was born Nov. 2, 1951, in Hondo. Memorial service was at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at Black Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Whitt officiating.

George Cowart, age 69, of Yancey, formerly of Socorro, NM, passed away Saturday, Oct. 9, in Hondo. He was born Nov. 27, 1934, in Albuquerque, NM. Rosary was recited Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the church, followed by
interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Reverend Wallis J. Stiles officiated.

Keith David Daniels, age 47, of Castroville, passed away Oct. 12, 2004. Keith was born April 23, 1957, in Evansville, IN, to Dwight and Jonita Daniels. A Memorial Service held on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 12 noon at Tondre- Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville.

Francis Marion Davis, Jr., age 73, of San Antonio, Texas, died on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004. He was born in Throckmorton, on April 17, 1931. The Funeral Service was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Burial was in Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Section.

Aubrey Earl Driscoll, Devine native, local businessman and rancher, died on Monday, Oct. 18, 2004, at the age of 93. He was born on the family farm south of Devine on Feb. 12, 1911. Funeral service held Thursday, Oct. 21, at 1 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Devine. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.

A long-time resident of Community Care Facility in Hondo, Fannie Alice Hardt Dubberly passed away Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at the age of 90. Funeral service was conducted at New Fountain United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, with the Reverends Charles Parker, Bert Clayton, John Britsch, Dave Crabtree, and Vance Elliott participating. Mary Emma Matthews was organist and Rev. Doug Smith gave the graveside prayer. Prior to interment at the New Fountain Cemetery, the Hondo Eastern Star Chapter conducted a special service for Mrs. Dubberly, who was a member of Eastern Star for over 50 years.

Isidora C. Espinosa, age 72, of Lytle passed away Oct. 11, 2004. She was born April 3, 1932 in Lytle.
Funeral service was held on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, at 10 a.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Church. Father Romeo Olivares will officiate. Interment followed in Lytle Community Cemetery.

Isa Fierros, age 75, of Amarillo, formerly of Devine and Castroville, passed away Oct. 1, 2004. He was born June 22, 1929, in Castroville. A graveside service was held on Oct. 7, 2004, in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.

Esteban Gallegos, age 96, of Devine passed away Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, in San Antonio. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19 in Hurley Funeral Home Chapel. Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with interment following at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.

Lilla Mae Gant, age 86 , of Hondo, died on Friday, Oct. 22, 2004. She was born in Bowie, on Feb. 6, 1918. Visitation was on Monday, Oct. 25, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. Funeral Service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at the Craddock Funeral Home in Ardmore, OK. Burial was in Rosehill Cemetery in Ardmore.

TSGT Monty Joe Garrett, Retired USAF, a resident of Castroville, passed away at home on October 23, 2004, at the age of 68. He was born on Jan. 23,
1936, in Lueders, Visitation was held Monday, Oct. 25, 2004. Funeral Service held on Oct. 26, at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home Chapel in Castroville. Interment followed at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Catherine Clara Weynand Gass, born on July 7, 1923, in D'Hanis, passed away on Oct. 6, 2004, in San Antonio. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, Oct. 11, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Interment followed in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.

Bertha Bohl Graham was born in the rural area of Devine, Texas on Sept. 4, 1917. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17 in the Chapel of the Hurley
Funeral Home. Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment followed in St. Joseph¹s Catholic Cemetery.

Pearl Mae Grunewald, age 92, of Hondo passed away on Monday, Oct. 18, 2004. She was born in New Fountain Feb. 4, 1912. Funeral Service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at the First United Methodist Church of Hondo. Burial was in the Yancey Cemetery.

Freddie Ray Jones, age 73, of Yancey passed away Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004. He was born in Sipe Springs, TX, Oct. 12, 1937. Visitation was at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service was Monday, Oct. 11, at the First Baptist Church of Yancey followed by interment in Yancey Cemetery.

Russell Ray "Rusty" Lawrence, age 57, of Castroville passed away Oct. 18, 2004, at his home. Russell was born Sept. 25, 1947, in San Antonio. Visitation on Thursday, Oct. 21, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. at the Tondre- Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, Oct. 22, at 10 a.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, followed by interment.

Mary Gertrude Love of San Antonio, age 88, passed away in Pearsall, Oct. 19, 2004. She was born in Alberta, Canada, Aug. 20, 1916. Graveside service was at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at Howard Cemetery with Pastor Robert Gentet officiating.

Richard James (Jim) MacAl-lister of Pipe Creek, born May 11, 1942, in San Antonio, passed away Oct. 8, 2004, in LaCoste. Graveside service held Monday, Oct. 18, at 10:15 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio. His ashes entombed in the columbarium at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Norma June Moore, age 72, of Natalia passed away Friday, Oct. 1, 2004, in Castroville. She was born in Bracketville, Sept. 13, 1932. Funeral service was held Monday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Clifford Kuykendal officiating. Interment was in Blackhill Cemetery.

Thomas George Muennink, age 75, of Hondo, died on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004. He was born in D'Hanis, on Oct. 30, 1928. The Rosary was held Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m at Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis. Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 28, with Father Stiles officiating, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment was at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Dolores Romero Padron, Sr., age 80, of San Antonio passed away Oct. 1, 2004. He was born April 24, 1924, in La Coste. Funeral service was held Wednesday, Oct. 6 at Hurley Funeral Home

Heinrich Pfanzelt, age 68, of Mico, passed away Oct. 14, 2004, at home. Heinrich was born July 19, 1936, in Oberammergan, Germany. A Memorial Rosary was held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville.

Jose Rios, age 82, of Hondo, died on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004. He was born in Sabinas, Mexico, on March 19, 1922. Rosary was held Wednesday, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hondo. The burial was at 2:30 pm at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Pedro "Pete" M. Rizo, age 62, of Devine passed away Sunday, Oct. 17, 2004, in San Antonio. Rosary was recited 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20 in Hurley Funeral Home Chapel. Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.

Jose Armando Rodriguez of Hondo entered into rest on Oct. 4, 2004, at the age of 72. Funeral Mass was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery.

Victor Rodriguez, age 66, of Levelland, passed away Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004. He was born on Nov. 8, 1937, in Lytton Springs. Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Levelland. Burial followed at the City of Levelland Cemetery under the direction of Head & Duarte Funeral Home.

Marvin Emil Rohde, Sr., age 71, of Bigfoot passed away Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, in Jourdanton. He was born Sept. 12, 1933, in San Antonio. Visitation held at the funeral home Friday, Oct. 29 from 2 to 9 p.m. Rosary recited at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 followed by a celebration of a Mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.

Joe O. "Chino" Rosales, age 81, of Hondo, died on Monday, Oct. 25, 2004. He was born in Hondo, on May 29, 1923. The Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial was at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.

Elisandro Salazar, age 64, of Bonham passed away Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004 at his residence. He was born on Sept. 3, 1940, in Hondo. Visitation was held from 2 - 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at Cooper- Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Bonham.

Judge Edward Sandusky, D.V.M., of Hondo and Quihi passed away on Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Bronte, on Jan. 25, 1930. Visitationwas held on Thursday, Oct. 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service Friday, Oct. 15, 10 a.m., at the Hondo Church of Christ.

Jesus "Chuy" Santos Jr. of Quihi, age 65, passed away in San Antonio on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2004.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, and Funeral mass was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, both at St. John's Catholic Church. Burial was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Oscar Rudolph Schott, age 102, of Mico passed away at his home on Oct. 24, 2004, surrounded by his family at his bedside. He was born on Oct. 17,
1902, at Red Bluff in Bandera County. Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. The Rosary recited Thursday, Oct. 28, at 9 a.m. at the Tondre- Guinn Funeral Home. Entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum in Schertz.

Rodolfo Silva Sr., of Hondo, passed away on Oct. 17, 2004, at the age of 66. Visitation was from 2 to 9 p.m. and Rosary was at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Hondo Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at St. John's Catholic Church with interment following in Hondo Cemetery.

Joy Ann Smalley, age 69, suddenly passed away Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, in San Antonio. She was born on Feb. 26, 1935, in Alameda, CA. Visitation was held from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road. Graveside Service 11 am., Wednesday, Nov. 3, at Sunset Memorial Park.

Joe Ignatius Valenta, age 79, peacefully passed away Oct. 10, 2004, surrounded by family and friends at his home in Castroville. Joe was born Feb. 6, 1925, in Schwertner. Interment was at the St. Louis Cemetery in Castroville.

Sgt. Jackson (Jack) Penland Westbrook, age 84, of Devine, TX passed away on Oct. 22, 2004. Jack was born on Oct. 14, 1920. Viewing was held at Hurley Funeral Home in Devine Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, Funeral services held Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004 at 10 a.m. in the Lytle Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Martin officiating. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery.

Laura "Pinkie" Winters, age 61, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2004. Funeral service was held Saturday Oct.16, at 1 p.m. at Porter Loring North. Graveside service was Oct. 16, at 3:30 p.m. in the Woodmen of the World Cemetery in D'Hanis.

Harlan Raymond Wolff, age 67, of Hondo died Oct. 7, 2004. He was born in 1937 and raised in D'Hanis. A Rosary and Mass was held on Oct. 8, 2004, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis. Mr. Wolff was laid to rest at the Holy Cross Cemetery in D'Hanis.

Bernice Evers Alderson Wurzbach, age 82, of Rio Medina passed away Oct. 10, 2004, in San Antonio. Bernice was born Sept. 1, 1922, in San Antonio. Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Rosary was recited Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, followed by interment at the Evers Cemetery in San Antonio.
