Henry Solis Abbate, age 72, of Atascosa, passed away on Nov. 13, 2004, at home. He was born May 3, 1932, in San Antonio. Rosary was recited Monday, Nov. 15, 7 p.m ., at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, Nov. 16, 10 a.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment was at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville.

Illa Ulen Alfredson, age 84, of Hondo died on Monday, Nov. 22, 2004. She was born in Morrilton, AR, on Oct. 15, 1920. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

Cecil Wayne "Buck" Bragg, age 72, of Pearsall, passed away Nov. 28, 2004. He was born in Kauffman, Oct. 15, 1932. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. in Pearsall Cemetery with Schatzie
Norris officiating.

Raymond J. Brett Jr., age 57, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, in San Antonio. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at Our lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes. Interment was at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Aileen Kathrine Burger, age 98 , of Hondo, died on Monday, November 22,2004. She was born at her grand-mother's home at Vandenburg, outside of Hondo, on May 4, 1906. The graveside funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. Frank Helvey officiated.

Rev. Msgr. Anthony J. Costantino, age 84, of San Antonio, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004. Visitation was held Thursday, Nov. 4 and Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass was offered at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Interment was at San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery No. 2.

Oralia O. Dominguez, age 80, of Austin, formerly of Hondo, died on Tuesday, Nov.23, 2004. Born in D'Hanis on Feb. 1, 1924. Rosary was led by Juventina Correa Sunday, Nov. 28, 7 p.m, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Rev. Jeff Pehl officiating.

Guadalupe Flores Estrada, age 81, of Castroville, passed away on Nov. 22, 2004, at home. She was born Feb. 15, 1923. Graveside service was held on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 11:30 a.m. at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section, in Hondo. A Memorial Service was held Friday, Nov. 26, 7 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, 1691 U.S. Hwy 90
East, Hondo.

Juanita Flores, age 68, of Moore passed away Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004. She was born in Catarina, June 24, 1936. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Jose F. Puente officiating. Interment followed in Moore Catholic Cemetery.

Abelardo S. Garcia Sr., age 79, of San Antonio died on Monday, Nov. 8, 2004. He was born in Gardendale on Feb. 22, 1925. Rosary was recited Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home, led by Epifania Ybarra. Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Rev. Jeff Pehl officiating. Burial was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Jonnie R. Gayle, age 84, of San Antonio, formerly of Devine, passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2004, in San Antonio. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26 at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sonny Manuel officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

Ascencion Gonzales, age 74, formerly of Natalia and San Antonio, passed away Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, in San Antonio. He was born in Atascosa on Dec. 8, 1929. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Evergreen Cemetery.

Ramon Garza Gonzales, age 63, of Hondo, entered into rest on Nov. 25, 2004. Visitation was from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 28, at Hondo Funeral Home.

Leo A. Heirman, age 85, passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2004, at Hendrick Medical Center after a long illness. He was born Aug. 14, 1919, in Galesburg, IL. Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 16, at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, Abilene.

Ferdinand (Ferdie) Armene Huegele, age 97, of San Antonio, passed away on Nov. 13, 2004, in San Antonio. He was born Sept. 29, 1907. Graveside service was held Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 11 a.m. at San Fernando #2 Catholic Cemetery in San Antonio.

Roger Walter Kurz, 79, of Devine passed away Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, in Lytle. Visitation was Sunday, Nov. 14 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Hurley Funeral Home in Lytle. Funeral services conducted Monday, Nov. 15 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home in Lytle. Interment followed at Heickman Cemetery, Somerset.

Juan Vasquez Leos, age 100, of Sabinal died Nov. 18, 2004, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. He was born in D'Hanis on June 24, 1904. Mass of the resurrection was celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Sabinal with Father Pedro Molina officiating. Interment followed in Sabinal Cemetery.

William Harold "Bill" Mooney, age 56, of Mexia,
formerly of Hondo, passed away on Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, losing his battle with cancer. Bill was born in Jackson, MS on Jan. 8, 1948, The funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 9, at New Fountain United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Parker and Rev. John Britsch officiating. The TDCJ Dominguez State Jail Honor Guard posted the colors and stood by the casket during the service. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. The United States Air Force honors team from Lackland AFB retired the colors and presenting them to Bill's wife. A bugler provided Taps.

Evelyn Charlotte Nicholas, age 64, of Devine passed away Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, in San Antonio. She was born in San Antonio, Sept. 6, 1940. Memorial Service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, At Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Dan Pitts, minister.

Jimmie Richardson, age 68, of Devine, passed away Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, in San Antonio. He was born Feb. 3, 1936, in Ripley, TN. Funeral service at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kent Carnley officiating. Interment in Lytle Community Cemetery.

Dorotha Carr Rucker, 82, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at an Arlington hospital after a brave and lengthy battle with cancer. Mrs. Rucker was born in Erath County on June 8, 1922. Funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Moore Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Moore Memorial
Gardens in Arlington.

Chrystal Lee Savage, age 22, of Devine, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, in San Antonio. She was born in San Antonio, Oct. 17, 1982. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Walter H. Tracy Jr. officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Dominga M. Sevier, age 70, of Lytle, passed away, Nov. 5, 2004, in San Antonio. She was born in San Antonio, Jan. 21, 1934. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 8, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Richard Hernandez officiating. Interment followed in Lytle Community Cemetery.

Monsignor Robert Silverman, 69, of San Antonio died of a heart attack at the Jordan River in Israel on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, as he led 58 pilgrims on a tour of the Holy Land. It was his 11th such tour. Monsignor Silverman was born Apr. 10, 1935. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church in San Antonio, where he last served as pastor. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, also at St. John Neumann. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery, San Antonio.

SMSGT Borden 'Smitty' Smith AF Ret. SMSGT Borden "Smitty" Smith of Hondo entered into rest on Nov. 8, 2004, at the age of 74. Visitation from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at Hondo Funeral Home. Funeral procession at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, for a
10:15 a.m. graveside service with military honors at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Iva Mae Walker Smith, 95, of San Marcos passed away Nov. 6, 2004. She was born in Staples, Oct. 7, 1909. Graveside service was conducted Tuesday at the San Marcos City Cemetery Tabernacle.

Kim Thi Thai, age 72, of Hondo passed away Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004. She was born in Vietnam Apr. 8, 1932. She was a member of the Buddhist faith and, according to custom, private prayers were offered throughout the week. Monks from the Chua Bao Quanh Temple in San Antonio led prayers Thursday and Friday afternoons. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Friday at Guinn-Horger Chapel, led by Pastor Charles Schlentz.
Funeral prayers began at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20. The procession began at 10 a.m., stopping for prayers at the family's home and business and arriving at the cemetery for committal rites. Burial with Chinese ritual was at 11 a.m. at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Milton Richard Henry Theis, Sr., age 86, of Castroville passed away in San Antonio on Friday, Nov. 5. 2004. He was born Feb. 9, 1918, in Wetmore. Funeral service was held on Monday, Nov. 8, at 10 a.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. Interment was at the Quihi Cemetery in Quihi.

Gerald Joseph Tschirhart, age 49, of Castroville passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, in San Antonio. He was born March 27, 1955, in Hondo. Funeral Mass was held Sunday, Nov. 14, at 6 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Rosary was recited Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment was at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville.

Joe L. Weiss was born on March 30, 1939, passed away on Nov. 6, 2004. Graveside service was held on Tuesday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m. at Yancey Cemetery, Yancey.

Earnest Donald Weldon, age 68, of Natalia passed away Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, in Chesapeake, VA. He was born in Pear Valley, July 2, 1936. Funeral service was held Wednesday, Nov. 10, 9 a.m., at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dale Brynestad officiating. Interment was at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Juanita Estrada Ybarra, age 91, of La Coste, passed away Nov. 14, 2004, in San Antonio. She was born June 24, 1913. Visitation and prayers were held on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home.
