JOSE BARRIOS SR., of Hondo, entered into rest
on May 24, 2005, at the age of 68. Visitation was Friday, May 27,
at Hondo Funeral Home. Rosary was recited May 27, at St. John's Catholic
Church. Funeral Mass was May 28, at St. John's Catholic Church.
Interment followed in the Hondo Cemetery.
Sidney James "Jack" Boehme, age 75,
of Rio Medina, passed away Friday, May 13, 2005, in San Antonio.
Jack was born Nov. 12, 1929, in San Antonio. Visitation was
Saturday, 4 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at
Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Decade of the Rosary and Mass of Resurrection
was held Sunday, May 15, at 4 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in
Castroville. Interment was at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
Edward Lee "Pete" Capps, age
73, of San Antonio passed away Sunday, May 1, 2005, at his
residence. Visitation was held Wednesday, May 4, at the
Hurley Funeral Home Chapel and a rosary was recited at 7
p.m. Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 5, at St.
Joseph's Catholic Church, Devine. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's
Catholic Cemetery, Devine.
EVELYN FRANCES (KNOPP) TOMPKINS COLLINS,
age 84, passed away May 27, 2005. Evelyn was born Oct.1, 1920, in
Hondo. Evelyn's wish was to be cremated and to have her ashes
scattered to the winds over her ranch, on the hill overlooking the two
lakes and the house, praying that this will help the wildflowers
grow. A memorial service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June
4, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel.
Arthur Felix Conrad, age 94, of Devine passed
away May 16, 2005, in San Antonio. Arthur was born July 7, 1910, in La
Coste. Funeral Mass held Thursday, May 19, at 10:30 a.m. at St.
Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment followed the mass at St.
Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Devine.
Christopher Jordan Dugosh, son of Richard and
Mel Dugosh of Hondo, passed away suddenly May 19, 2005, he was 20 years
old. He was an inspiration to many and he will be missed. A
Rosary was held Sunday, May 22, at Grimes Funeral Home in Bandera with
Father Michael McManus officiating.
The Funeral Mass was held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bandera
on Monday, May 23, with Father Wallis Stiles officiating. Burial was at
the St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery Annex.
Alexander Roscoe Galloway, President and Chief
Executive Officer of Security State Bank of Pearsall, was born August 9,
1924 in Marble Falls, passed away May 12, 2005. Visitation
was held at 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 13 at Hurley Funeral Home. The
memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 14 at First United
Methodist Church of Pearsall.
JANIE W. GONZALES, born April 5, 1929,
in San Antonio, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2005.
She wished to be cremated. Services under the direction of
Hondo Funeral Home, Hondo.
JERRILYN DAWN GRELL, beloved wife, Mom, Mema
and sister went to be with our Lord and Savior on May 27, 2005, at the
age of 65. She was born in Kempner, on Feb. 7, 1940. Visitation
was Sunday, May 29, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service was held
at 10 a.m. Monday, May 30, at the New Fountain United Methodist Church
with burial in the Hondo Cemetery.
GARLAND RAY GRUNEWALD, born January 24,
1949, in Hondo, went to be with the Lord on May 17, 2005, at the age of
56. Funeral ceremony was Thursday, May 28, at Mission Park Funeral
Chapels South. Interment followed at Mission Burial Park South.
Guadalupe Guerrero, age 59, of Hondo, entered
into rest on May 14, 2005. Visitation was from 5 to 9 p.m.
with Prayer service at 7 p.m., Monday, May 16, at Hondo Funeral Home.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 17 at Hondo Funeral
Home. Interment followed in the Hondo Cemetery.
Esther May Heyen, age 81, went quietly into
the arms of Jesus on May 5, 2005, in San Antonio. She was born on a farm
on Talley Road in Bexar County, on Sept. 25, 1923. Burial
was at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 9, in the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood
Section and a memorial service was held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Alamo
Heights
United Methodist Church,San Antonio.
Viola Hoover, passed away May 7, at the age of
71. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 10.
Funeral service was at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, with both services
being at Mission park Funeral Chapels South.
Ronald James "Ronnie" McGuffin, age
56, passed away, Sunday, May 1, 2005. He was born in San Antonio,
on April 18, 1949. The Rosary was at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May
3, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was at 12
noon Wednesday, May 4, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Burial was at 4 p.m. at St. Joseph's Honey Creek Cemetery, east of
Boerne.
Gabriella Rae Mendoza, age 2 months and
4 days, passed away on May 29, 2005, in San Antonio. She was
born March 25, 2005, in San Antonio, the daughter of Soloman Ybarra and
Anissa Mendoza. Funeral service, officiated by Fr. Jeff Pehl, was
at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Burial was
at the Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.
Raymon Joe Moore, age 57, passed away on
Saturday, May 21, 2005. Ray was born in
Memphis, TX, on November 1, 1947. Memorial service
held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home
Chapel in Castroville.
Thomas Decalb Morrel V of San Antonio, age 25,
went home to meet his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 9,
2005. He was born Nov. 18, 1979.
The Shearer Hills Baptist Church, 12615 U.S. Highway 281 North, San
Antonio, open for visitation 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, May
14. Funeral service at 11 a.m. with interment at 1:30 p.m. in Hondo
Cemetery, Oakwood Section.
Murel Louis "Spud" Murphy, age 73,
of D'Hanis passed away on Monday, May 9, 2005. He was Native
American, born Dec. 11, 1931, in Oklahoma. According
to his wishes, no services are scheduled and his ashes will be
scattered.
Lt. Col. Lawrence Dewey Nuckles, U.S. Army
retired, age 87, of Lakehills, formerly of Rockport, passed away
May 16, 2005, at his home. Lawrence was born March 18, 1918 in
Sabinal. Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home open for visitation
on Thursday, May 19, from 2 to 8 p.m with the family present from 5:30
p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Graveside Service held Friday, May 20, at 11
a.m., with full military honors at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in
San Antonio.
Seynovio Joseph "Joe" Pasillas, age
77, passed on to eternally enjoy the heavenly, glorious refulgence of
the Lord, on May 13, 2005, in San Antonio. A memorial
service held at the Faith Community Bible Church, in Hondo, on May
22, at 10:30 a.m. The ashes of both Joe and Alice will be later moved to
California where they will be scattered out to sea.
Patty "Pat" Markley Perkins, age 73,
of Mico passed away May 3, 2005, in San Antonio.
Pat was born Nov. 29, 1931, in Bluffton, IN. Visitation Thursday,
May 5, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. A
graveside service followed by interment on Friday, May 6, at 11 a.m. at
Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
Robert Browning Pool, 53, of San Antonio
passed away May 31, 2005. He was born in Germany on May 29, 1953. No
service is planned.
MANUEL ROMERO PROUTY JR. 74, of Devine passed
away Saturday, May 28, 2005, in San Antonio. Visitation was
held and Rosary was recited May 31, in the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass was celebrated June 1, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, followed by
interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
Felix Rangel, age 79, passed away May 30,
2005, in San Antonio. He was born June 12, 1925, in Beaumont.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, at the Guinn-Horger
Chapel and the Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Jeff Pehl, was at 10 a.m.
on Thursday, June 2, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial
was at the Yancey Cemetery.
Mary E. "Betty" Smith, age 75 of
Kerrville, died May 8, 2005, in a local care center. She was born Oct.
22, 1929 in Uvalde. Graveside services were held May 10 at 1 p.m.
at Montell Cemetery in Montell.
ROBERT MILTON STANTON SR., of Devine, passed away in San Antonio
on May 26, 2005. Bob, as he was known to family and
friends, was born in South Kingston, RI, Nov. 1, 1922. Visitation
was at Hurley Funeral Home on May 29. Graveside service was held Monday,
May 30, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Devine.
Dora Besse Stiles, age 95, of D'Hanis passed
away Monday, May 9, 2005. She was born Aug. 10, 1909 in
Alice. Memorials or donations may be made to the
Church or to the charity of your choice. Visitation
held on Thursday, May 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. A Rosary Service held
at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 12. Funeral
service held Friday, May 13, 2005, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Jeff Pehl
officiating. Visitation and services held at
Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis. Interment in
Alice Cemetery in Alice at 4 p.m. on Friday, May
13.
Ralph Kenneth Tindall, 70, of Hondo, went to
be with the Lord on May 14, 2005. He was born Sept. 13, 1934, in
Cranfills Gap. Memorial Service was held Tuesday, May 17, at
10 a.m. at the New Fountain United Methodist Church.
Manuel Garcia Valdez, age 83, passed away May
29, 2005, in San Antonio. He was born Jan. 2, 1922, in Mexico.
Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday, May 30, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel.
The Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Frank Macias, was at 10 am Tuesday,
May 31, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Eloisa Cuellar Velasquez, age 90, passed
away Monday, May 2, 2005, in Ulysses, KS. She was born May 29,
1914, in Hondo. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 5,
at the Elliott-Hamil
Funeral Home. Funeral service was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred
Heart Catholic Church, with Father Robert Bush officiating. Burial was
in
Elmwood Memorial Park, Ulysses, KS.
Diego Daniel Vera, age 13 days, of Natalia passed away May 16,
2005. He was born May 3, 2005, in San Antonio, to Selica Vera.
Graveside service was at 10 am. Thursday, May 19, at St. Joseph's
Catholic Cemetery with Father Romeo Olivares officiating.
Roy W. Woodson Jr., of Hondo, entered into rest on May 14, 2005,
at the age of 59. A Memorial Service was held on Monday, May 17,
at United Methodist Church in Yancey. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m.
Thursday, May 19, at Hondo Funeral Home.
Marion Terrell Wright, age 80 entered into
rest on May 30, 2005. A 2 p.m. Graveside service was held at Fort
Sam Houston National Cemetery on Thursday, June 2, 2005.
TSGT Robert L. Zerrlaut, USAF Retired, age 58, of Castroville
passed away May 10, 2005, in San Antonio. Robert was born June 25,
1946 in Baltimore, MD. Visitation Thursday, May 12, from 4
to 8 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Graveside
service held Friday, May 13, at 11
a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Fort Sam Houston.
