Visitation was held Sunday, May 5, 2002, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, Castroville. Rosary was at 7 p.m. Monday, May 6. The Mass of Resurrection was
offered at 10 a.m, Tuesday, May 7. All services and visitation Monday and Tuesday, were at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn. Interment followed the mass in the church cemetery.

Adline Corine Keller Bourquin, age 90, of Castroville passed away May 28, 2002, in Castroville. She was born Aug. 24, 1911, in La Coste. Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, May 29, at 7 p.m. Rosary was recited
Thursday at 10 a.m. Both services were at St. Louis Catholic Church with Rev. Jim Conway officiating and Father Jerry Haby concelebrating the Funeral
Mass. Interment in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery followed the Rosary.

Victoriano Carabajal, age 78, died Monday, May 6, 2002. He was born in Uvalde, on August 31, 1923.
Graveside service was at 10 a.m. Friday, May 10, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Interment in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Devine.

Helen Mary Geiger Conrad

Helen Mary Geiger Conrad, age 93, of rural Devine entered eternal rest May 18, 2002, in Hondo. Helen was born Nov. 5, 1908, in La Coste. Mass of Resurrection was offered Monday, May 20, at 7 p.m. The rosary
was recited Tuesday at 9 a.m. Services were conducted by Rev. Jim Conway at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Entombment was at St. Louis Garden
Mausoleum.

Juanita Craig Davis, age 71, of Lytle passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2002. She was born in Woodsboro, Jan. 21, 1931. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Monday, May 13, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Keith Dennis officiating.

Patrick James Mangold, age 80, of LaCoste passed away May 28, 2002, in San Antonio. He was born Aug. 28, 1921, in La Coste. Rosary was recited Friday, May 31, at 10 a.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Chapel, led by Msgr. Thomas Palmer and the Guadalupanas. Graveside service and interment were in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery, with Msgr. Thomas Palmer officiating.

Pedro C. "Pete" Martinez

Pedro C. "Pete" Martinez, age 87, of LaCoste passed away May 23, 2002, in Castroville. He was born May 19, 1915, in Pandora. Rosary was held Sunday, May 26, at 7 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Chapel, led by the Guadalupanas. Mass of Resurrection was celebrated by Msgr. Thomas Palmer, Monday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Interment followed in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery.

Stiles officiating. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Emma Smith Oefinger

Emma Smith Oefinger of Uvalde, formerly of Quihi and Hondo, age 97, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2002, in Amistad Nursing Home in Uvalde. Graveside service was held at the Quihi Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, with her nephew, Dr. Lawrence Ray Smith of Kerrville, officiating. She was born March 10, 1905, in Huffman.

James Ronald "Ronnie" Rand

James Ronald "Ronnie" Rand, age 55, of Castroville passed away May 23, 2002, at his home. He was the current administrator for the City of Castroville. Ronnie was born on Oct. 5, 1946, in Warren, AR. He was a major in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam era. A memorial service was led by Rev. Jane Florence, Saturday, May 25, at 4 pm at the Medina Valley United Methodist Church in Castroville. A memorial service was also held Sunday, May 26, at 2 p.m. at the Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas. Military Honors were provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard of Ft. Hood.

Angel Reyes, age 45, of Natalia passed away Sunday, May 19, 2002. He was born Jan. 22, 1957. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church with Father Romeo Olivares officiating. Interment was in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.

Melissa Rodriguez, age 34, of D'Hanis passed away May 7, 2002, in San Antonio. She was born in Hondo, Jan. 24, 1968. Rosary was at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, and Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Thursday with Father Wallis J. Stiles officiating. Both services were
at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D'Hanis. Interment followed in San Francisco Cemetery.

Kathleen "Kaye" Free Rowley

Kathleen "Kaye" Free Rowley, age 65, passed away May 18, 2002. She was born on Nov. 11, 1936. She will be missed by many friends in Hondo, Michigan and Arizona.

Basilio Sauceda Sr., age 78, of Castroville passed away May 29, 2002. He was born in Hondo, Jan. 31, 1924. Prayer service was at 7 p.m. Friday led by E.J. Chapa. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 1 led by J. Victor Perez. Both services were held at Guinn-Horger Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery,
Oakwood Section.

Nora Rosa Schweers Schorp

Nora Rosa Schweers Schorp, born Aug. 9, 1917, passed away on May 16, 2002, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Graveside service was held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 20.

William H. "Billy" Smith, age 55, of Hondo passed away May 4, 2002. He was born in Poteet on Sept. 2, 1946.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, at New Fountain United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Wm. Treude officiating. Interment was in New Fountain Cemetery.

Francisco "Pancho" Soliz entered into eternal rest at the home of his son, Charlie, in Yancey after a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease on May 24, 2002. Funeral arrangements were by Guinn-Horger Funeral Home, Hondo.
