Chapel of Hurley Funeral Home, Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial said on Friday, April 2, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Devine. Interment followed in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Sotero "Sam" Arias, age 64, of LaCoste passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2004, in San Antonio. He was born April 22, 1939, in Austin. A prayer service was held Thursday, March 11, at 7 p.m. in the Hurley
Funeral Home Chapel, Devine. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Friday, Mar. 12, in the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Lytle Community
Cemetery.

Raymond H. Batot, born Nov. 24, 1901, died March 6, 2004, at the age of 102. Funeral service was on Wednesday, Mar. 10, at Mission Park Funeral
Chapels South with Pastor Tom Dietzel officiating. Interment followed in Mission Burial Park South.

Edith Lorene Benton, age 63, of Sabinal passed away March 10, 2004. She was born on May 25, 1940, in Menard. Graveside service was held Sunday, Mar. 14, at 3 p.m. at the Sabinal Cemetery with Rev. Claud Bonam and Pastor Mark Bonam officiating.

Leslie Leon Blevins, age 70, of Devine passed away, March 31, 2004. He was born in Eureka, KS, August 4, 1933. Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.D. Saunders officiating. Interment was in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Samantha (Sammy Sue) Buvinghausen, age 15, of Devine passed away March 23, 2004. She is survived by her parents, Robert and Ali Buvinghausen. Funeral service was held March 27, 2004, at 12 noon in the Grace Community Church in Castroville.

Simon Campa Sr. of Devine passed away March 22, 2004, in Austin at the age of 82. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. March 25, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Msgr. Adolfo Valdivia-Aguirre officiating. Interment followed in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.

Daniel Correa Sr., age 94, of Hondo, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2004. He was born June 1, 1909, at Yancey. Prayer Service was held Friday, Mar. 5, 7 p.m., at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. Funeral service was Saturday, Mar. 6, at 3 p.m. at the Primera Iglesia Bautista Mexicana. Burial was at the Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.

Christina May Bonner Ciomperlik, age 77, of San Antonio, passed away Mar. 5, 2004, at home. Christina was born April 6, 1926, in Portland. Memorial Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, Mar. 8, 3 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville.

Lucia S. "Lucy" De La Cruz, age 68,of Hondo passed away March 26, 2004, in San Antonio at the SWT Methodist Hospital. She was born Feb. 13, 1936, in Hondo,. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, Mar. 28. Funeral Mass was held Monday, at 10 a.m. Both services were at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo. Burial was in the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Belen Rosa Duron, age 87, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2004, in San Antonio. She was born Sept. 4, 1916, in La Coste. Rosary was recited Tuesday, Mar. 16, at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, March 17, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Interment was at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery.

Carlos Elizondo, age 69, of Castroville, passed away Thursday, Mar. 4, 2004. Carlos was born Apr. 20, 1935, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, Mar. 7, at Tondre- Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church with interment at St. Louis Cemetery, Castroville.

John R. Fischer Jr. of San Antonio passed away Friday Mar. 19, 2004, at the age of 84. He was born in Castroville on July 31, 1919. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Mar. 24, at the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Mar. 25, at San Jose Catholic Mission. Interment was in San Jose Burial Park.

David John FitzSimon, age 73, of Castroville passed away Mar. 28, 2004, at his home. David was born July 18, 1930, in Castroville. Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, Mar. 30, at 7 p.m. and Rosary was held Wednesday at 10 a.m., both at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment was at St. Louis Cemetery.

Shirley Ann Jones Fowler passed away on Friday, March 26, 2004, at the age of 69. Funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Mar. 30, in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Devine.

Elizabeth Proctor Frick, age 89, of Sabinal passed away Monday, March 8, 2004. She was born November 2, 1914, in Luling . Graveside service was held Saturday, March 13, at 3 p.m. at the Sabinal Cemetery with Bro. George Dawson officiating.

Norman Kent Gray, age 79, of Hondo passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2004, in San Antonio. He was born Oct. 5, 1924, in Dunlay. Funeral service was Saturday, Mar. 20, 10 a.m., at the Guinn-Horger
Funeral Home in Hondo with burial following in Yancey Cemetery.

Wardon E. Heath, age 89, of Lytle and formerly of Devine, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2004, in Lytle. He was born Sept. 2, 1914, in Natalia. Graveside service was Thursday, Mar. 25, in Evergreen Cemetery at 2 p.m. with Rev. David Cook officiating.

Raymond Charles Heiligman, age 72, of Hondo passed away Sunday, Mar. 21, 2004, in San Antonio at the Audie Murphy Memorial VA Hospital. He was born on Oct. 17, 1931, near Hondo. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Mar. 25, at St. Paul
Lutheran Church, Hondo. Interment in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Myron James Heinen, age 82, of Hondo passed away Tuesday, Mar. 16, 2004, in Floresville. He was born May 6, 1921, in Bandera. Memorial service was Saturday, April 3, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul
Lutheran Church, Hondo.

Tyrus F. Koch of Bulverde, age 84, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2004. Graveside service was at Wednesday, March 10, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with Rev. Phillip Flournoy officiating.

Lena Mae Koehler entered into rest on March 4, 2004, at the age of 84. She was born July 25, 1919, in Devine. Funeral service was held on Monday, March 8, at Mission Park Funeral Chapel South with Pastor Bobby Leggett officiating. Interment followed at Mission Burial Park South.

Myron Heinen passed away Tuesday, Mar. 16, 2004, in Floresville. Funeral arrangements are pending at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home, Hondo.

Fermin H. Hernandez, age 70, passed away March 4, 2004, in San Antonio. He was born in Lytle, July 1, 1933. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Mar. 11, at Iglesia Calvario Bautisto with Pastor Jesus Ortiz officiating. Interment followed in Lytle
Community Cemetery.

Robert Keith Holbrook Jr., age 15, passed away Friday, March 19, 2004, in San Antonio. He was born April 18, 1988, in San Antonio.
Robert was a freshman at Medina Valley High School and was involved in the FFA.
He is survived by his parents, Robert Keith and Tobie Holbrook of Seguin, Janet and Bud Dooling of Castroville; sister, Shanna Holbrook. Visitation was Sunday, Mar. 21, at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home.
The funeral service was held Monday, Mar. 22, at 10 a.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home.

Joseph Charles "Joe Boy" Langfeld of D'Hanis, age 64, passed away Mar. 31, 2004, in San Antonio.
Joe was born July 8, 1939, in Hondo. Rosary was recited at 10 a.m. Saturday, Apr. 3, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, followed by the Funeral Mass. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, D'Hanis.

Carl S. Luker, age 81, died Monday, March 15, 2004, in Castroville. Visitation was held Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and funeral service was Friday at 11 a.m. at Porter Loring Chapel. Graveside service was held at 3 p.m. Friday at Stockdale City Cemetery.

Frances Ruth Fly Mims, beloved mother, devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, died at the age of 82 on Saturday, March 20, 2004. Born
in Hondo on May 24, 1921. Church service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Mar. 23, at University United Methodist Church with burial held at 2 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Hondo.

Katie Lou Pepper, age 86, of Sabinal passed away March 12, 2004, in Uvalde Memorial Hospital. She was born in Pauls Valley, OK, Dec. 23, 1917. Graveside service was at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 14, at Sabinal Cemetery with Mr. Gregory Alvarado III officiating.

Margaret D. Philbeck, age 43, of Hondo passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2004. She was born on June 10, 1960, in Saltillo, Mexico. Funeral service was held Sunday, Mar. 14, at 6 p.m. at the New Covenant
Fellowship Church, with Pastor Charles Schlentz officiating, assisted by Youth Minister Jonathan Ybarra. Burial was at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Mar. 15.

Alice Louise (Clifton) Roach, passed away March 16, 2004, at the age of 81. She was born July 2, 1922 in the community of Teck. Funeral service was held Friday, Mar. 19, at 10 a.m. at the Clements- Wilcox Chapel with Bro. Bill Brietschopf and Bro. George Randall officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery next to her loving husband.

Tomas Robles, age 87, passed away Saturday, Mar. 13, 2004, in Kerrville. He was born Aug. 5, 1916, in Yancey. Rosary was recited Monday, Mar. 15, in Schaetter's Chapel in Comfort with Father Jim Cashin. Funeral service was held Tuesday, Mar. 16, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Comfort with Father Jim Cashin and Rev. Jeff Pehl officating. Interment followed in Yancey Cemetery, Yancey.

Wanda I. Stewart Russell, age 93, formerly of Yorktown, IN, passed away Mar. 10, 2004, in San Antonio. She was born May 5, 1910. Graveside service was held Monday, Mar. 15, 10 a.m., in the Elm Ridge Cemetery, Muncie, IN, with Patrick McWilliams of the Tulsa Rhema School of Theology officiating.

Donna Joyce Schulze entered into rest on March 19, 2004. She was born on Feb. 23, 1942, in Bristol, CT. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 20, at St. Pius X Catholic Church and Funeral Mass was offered at 3 p.m. Sunday, Mar. 21, at the church. Interment followed at Sunset Memorial Park.

Carol Ann Shelton, age 65, of rural Hondo passed away Saturday, Mar. 27, 2004, at her home after a long illness. Carol was born Oct. 15, 1938, in Rochester, NY. Rosary was recited at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Memorial Mass followed at 4 p.m. Additional services are pending in Rochester, NY.

Jesusa Leal "Susie" Soliz, age 65, of Devine passed away March 31, 2004, in Victoria as the result of an automobile accident. Susie was born Feb. 27, 1939, in Yancey. Rosary was held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Apr. 4, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel and Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial was in the Yancey Cemetery.

June Angermiller Tarrodaychik, age 74, passed away March 2, 2004. She was born August 7, 1929, in her paternal grandmother's home in Sabinal and moved with her parents to a ranch south of Hondo in 1934. Memorial service was held in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 120 Pioneer Way, Mountain View, CA, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2004.

Guadalupe G. Vega, of Midland passed away at his home Monday, March 22, 2004. He was 74 years old. He was born June 9, 1929 in D'Hanis. Funeral service was 3 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 25, at Our
Lady of San Juan Catholic Church with Father Thomas Kelley officiating. Interment followed at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Darden Lee Wall Sr., age 65, of Floresville passed away Sunday, Mar. 14, 2004, at Medina Lake in his cabin overlooking the lake. He was born Jan. 14,
1939, in San Antonio. Rosary was recited on Tuesday, Mar. 16, in the Vinyard Funeral Home in
Floresville. The funeral mass was held Wednesday, Mar. 16, in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Poth. Father Grzegorz Szewczyk of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Poth, officiated both services.

Gabriel H. Ybarra, age 76, of Hondo passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2004. He was born May 12, 1927, in Hondo. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Mar. 12, and Funeral Mass was Saturday at 11 a.m., both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Rosary was led by Maria V. "Mary Ben" Ibarra and the Mass was led by Rev. Jeff Pehl. Burial was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Fernand Joseph Zinsmeyer, age 78, of Mico passed away March 1, 2004, in Castroville. Fernand was born Sept. 20, 1925, in San Antonio. Visitation was Thursday, Mar. 4, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home and Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday, Mar. 5, 10 a.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church, followed by interment at St. Louis Cemetery. Castroville.
