REQUEST FOR BIDS

320 Potranco Ranch, L.L.C. is requesting bids for construction improvements of the 320 Potranco Ranch Subdivision, Unit 4, located in Medina County. Improvements include: streets, sanitary sewer lines, water lines, re-use water lines and grading. The contractor must be insured and bonded. Bid Packages will be available at the office of Briones Consulting & Engineering, Ltd., 8118 Broadway, San Antonio, Texas 78209 on Wednesday October 29, 2014. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the office of Briones Consulting & Engineering, Ltd., 8118 Broadway, San Antonio, Texas 78209 on Monday November 6, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Any questions regarding the bids should be directed to Briones Engineering. Bids are due back no later than 2:00 pm on Monday November 10th, 2014 and will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 pm on Monday November 10th, 2014. The owner reserves the right to accept the low bids, in whole and/or in part(s) of the street and drainage, water, sanitary sewer, etc. A non-refundable fee of $100.00, is required, for each set of bid documents or $150.00 for each set of bid documents and a CD.

FOR THE BENTON CITY WATER SUPPLY CORPORATION

FOR MEDINA COUNTY, TEXAS (TXCDBG #713320)

 

Separate sealed bids for “WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS 2014 FOR THE BENTON CITY WATER SUPPLY CORPORATION” for Medina County, Texas (TXCDBG#713320) will be received at the Benton City Water Supply Corporation office located at 980 FM 3175, Lytle, TX 78052 until 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 14th, 2014, where all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Any bids received after closing time will be rejected and returned to the bidder unopened. The project consists of the furnishing and installation of 6” PVC Class 200 waterline, boring of 12” steel casing w/ 6” carrier pipe, gate valves, new service connections, existing service reconnections and appurtenances. The Information for Bidders, Form of Bid, Form of Contract, Specifications, Forms of Bid Bond, Performance and Payment Bond and other contract documents may be examined at the office of KLEIN & COPE ENGINEERING, INC., 8611 Botts Lane, San Antonio, Texas 78217 (210-828-7070, fax 210-828-7076). Copies may be obtained at the office of the Engineer upon payment of $70.00 per set. There is an additional $10.00 non-refundable fee for each set requested mailed thru USPS. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid issued by an acceptable surety. A certified check or bank draft made payable to Medina County may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. Bids must be submitted on forms furnished. No bid may be withdrawn for 30 days after the above scheduled closing time for receipt of bids. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid and to reject any or all bids. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirement as to the conditions of employment to be observed and to the fact that not less than the Federally Determined Prevailing Wage Rates, as issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture and contained in the contract documents MUST be paid on this project. Adherence to the grant recipient’s Section 3 Policy is required for contracts and subcontracts in excess of $100,000.00. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. Attention is called to General Conditions 141: “Restrictions of Public Buildings and Public Works Projects”. The bidder certifies by the submission of its bid that it: 1. Is not a Contractor of a foreign country included in the USTR list. 2. Has not or will not enter into any subcontract with a subcontractor of a foreign country included on the USTR list. MEDINA COUNTY, Texas has received an award of Federal Money from the Texas Community Development Block Grant Program Fund through the Texas Department of Agriculture for the construction of certain water system improvements.

The Edwards Aquifer Authority (EAA) invites qualified firms to submit sealed proposals for a refugia research study on the development of husbandry and captive propagation techniques for invertebrates covered under the Edwards Aquifer Habitat Conservation Plan. Proposal specifications will be available at 900 E. Quincy St, San Antonio, TX 78215, on Monday, October 20, 2014.
