Guadalupe Robles Alcozer, age 75, of San Antonio, formerly of Hondo, passed away Friday, June 29, 2007. She was born May 9, 1932, in Hondo. Rosary was recited Tuesday, July 3, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, July 4, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Ken Dakin officiating. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.

Thomas Alvarado Jr., age 60, of Castroville, passed away on June 23, 2007. Graveside service was held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on June 26, 2007.

Carmen Jose Alvarez, age 75, passed away in Devine, Tuesday, June 26, 2007, in San Antonio. He was born Thursday, July 16, 1931. Funeral services were held Friday, June 29, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon George Torres officiating.

Lois Burton Beck, age 80, of Devine, passed away June 26, 2007. Lois was born Apr. 9, 1927, in Daisetta. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, Castroville.

Ella Flora (Ford) Blackshear, age 75, of Horn Lake, MS, formerly of Hondo, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2007, in Tennessee. She was born in Hondo April 25, 1932. A celebration of her life was held at West End Baptist Church, Hondo, on Saturday, June 23, with Rev. Hubert Morris, pastor, and Minister Shirley Morris of Rightway Baptist Church officiating. Interment was at Cottonwood Cemetery, Hondo.

Jesse Junior Brumage, age 77, of Talladega, AL, passed away Monday, June 11, 2007, in Talladega, AL. He was born in Jere, WV, on April 4, 1930. Graveside service was Friday, June 15, in the Evergreen Cemetery, Devine.

Raymundo M. Carrillo, age 52, of Hondo passed away Friday, June 8, 2007. He was born in Hondo, April 10, 1955. Rosary was recited Sunday June 10, and Funeral Mass was Monday, June 11, both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Andrea Contreras of Hondo, beloved aunt and sister, passed away on June 25, 2007, at the age of 67. Rosary was recited Friday, June 29, at Hondo Funeral Home. The funeral service was held Saturday, June 30, at St. John’s Catholic Church. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery.

Jesus T. Covarrubia, age 83, of Devine, passed away Friday, June 29, 2007. He was born February 2, 1924, in Devine. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 3, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Alejandro Del Bosque officiating. Interment followed in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

Janet Kathryn Cook Fest, age 71, of Moore, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007, in San Antonio. She was born in San Antonio, February 22, 1936. Funeral services were held Friday, June 15, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Leonard Geyer and Rev. Roy Stokes officiating. Interment followed in Moore Memorial Cemetery, Moore.

Theodore C. Gonzales of Hondo passed away on June 27, 2007, at the age of 65. Rosary was recited Friday, June 29, and Funeral Mass was held Saturday, June 30, both at St. John’s Catholic Church. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery.

William Verbert Gray, age 73, a resident of the Hondo/D’Hanis SKP Park, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2007, in San Antonio. He was born Aug. 6, 1933, in Athens, GA. Memorial service held Friday, July 6, 10 a.m., at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Barren Cooper Hatfield died shortly after birth, and was delivered to Jesus on June 8, 2007. Survivors include his parents, Zachary J. and Kristina Houston Hatfield of Castroville. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Castroville Community Cemetery in Castroville, Texas.

Mary Emma Graff Johnson, age 81, of Hondo passed away Monday, June 25, 2007. She was born August 12, 1925, in Hondo. Rosary was recited Thursday, June 28, followed by the Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Entombment was at Hondo Cemetery, St. John’s Mausoleum.

Rosemary “Rosie” Julian, age 56, of Lytle passed away Monday, June 18, 2007. She was born in Devine on December 10, 1950. Funeral service was held Saturday, June 23, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Father Alejandro Del Bosque. Interment followed at Moore Catholic Cemetery.

Hedwig Caroline (Leinwe-ber) Windrow Kollman, age 97, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2007, in Hondo. She was born on Nov. 23, 1909, the third of six children. Funeral service was held Tuesday, June 19, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel in Hondo. Casketcarriers were Bryce Britsch, Cody Buck, J. Gruber, Doug Westfall, Matthew Windrow and Zachary Windrow. Burial was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Pedro P. Hernandez, of Hondo, passed away on June 16, 2007, at the age of 77. Rosary was recited Monday, June 18, at Hondo Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, June 19, at St. John’s Catholic Church. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery.

Jessie Arthur Long, age 73, passed away Monday, June 11, 2007, at Canyon Lake, after coping many years with the progressive blood disorder, myelofibrosis. He was born Sept. 8, 1933, in LaSalle County. Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 14, at Hondo Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. at Canyon Lake United Methodist Church.

Allen Franklin “Mac” McGuffin, 84, of Hondo passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2007. Mac was born on August 12, 1922, in Field Creek. Rosary was recited Friday June 15, and Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, June 16, both at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hondo. Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery at Honey Creek, near Spring Branch.

Enrique “El Teco” C. Niño, Sr. age 79, of La Coste, passed away June 14, 2007, in San Antonio. He was born April 1, 1928. The Rosary was recited Sunday, June 17, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. The Mass of Resurrection was celebrated Monday, June 18, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Interment followed the Mass at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery.

William Robert “Bill” Pick-thall, age 64, of Hondo passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2007. He was born in Dallas on Sept. 23, 1942. A private graveside service was held Monday, June 25, at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section, officiated by Minister Kenneth Heyen.

Pasqual Ramirez of Hondo, age 96, Friday, June 8, 2007. He was born in Brackettville, Feb. 9, 1911. Rosary was recited Tuesday, June 12, followed by Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Alfred Julio Ramos, age 52, of Devine passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2007. He was born October 22, 1954, in Hondo. Funeral service was held Saturday, June 23, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Father Alejandro Del Bosque.

William Roy Salts, Jr., entered eternal rest on June 8, 2007, in Castroville. He was born December 20, 1961, in Holyoke, MA,. The funeral service was held Friday, June 15, at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery in Clay Center, KS.

Baby Izelia Zapata Sanchez of Hondo passed away on June 16, 2007. Survivors include his parents, Ricky and Mary Jane Sanchez. Graveside service was held at 11 a.m., June 23, at Hondo Cemetery.

Romana M. Sepulveda, age 103, of Devine, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2007, in San Antonio. Mass was celebrated Wed-nesday, June 27, 2007, at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Devine. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

William John Silvers, age 59, of rural Hondo, known to family and friends as John, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2007. He was born June 23, 1947, in Sabinal. Funeral service was held at Guinn-Horger Chapel, Saturday, June 9, with Rev. Ron Stringfellow officiating. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, St. John’s Section.

John Sobolewski, age 61, of Hondo passed away Sunday, June 10, 2007. Arrangements are pending at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home.

Frances (Sauter) Windrow, age 90, passed away Monday, June 4, 2007, in Marble Falls. She was born on Feb. 12, 1917, at Hondo. The Rosary was recited Sunday, June 10, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral service was held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Monday, June 11,followed by interment in Hondo Cemetery, Oak-wood Section.
