Jose Solis Arcos, age 86, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2001, in Burleson. Mr. Arcos was a retired supervisor for H.B. Zachry Construction Co. Funeral Mass: 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Ann Catholic Church of Burleson.

Raymond Bowen
Raymond Bowen, age 77, of Conroe died June 3, 2001. He was a paratrooper in the Army during World War II, receiving the Bronze Star and two different Purple Hearts. He retired from Kelly AFB after working 32 years in Civil Service as an office supervisor.
Funeral service: 10 a.m. Friday, June 6 at Grimes Funeral Chapel, Bandera.

Marissa Dandi Burleson
     Marissa Dandi Burleson, age 21, passed away June 17, 2001. She was born on Feb. 11, 1980.
     She was to begin her senior year at Angelo State University in the fall where she was majoring in Special Education and Kinesiology. She had graduated from Nueces Canyon High School.
     Funeral service: 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at First Baptist Church, Barksdale.

     Vivian W. Coquillette, age 77, of Sabinal passed away June 21, 2001, at her residence. She was born in Lorena, Dec. 10, 1923. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Monday, June 25, at Hondo Cemetery.

Joseph Neely Blankenship
Joseph Neely Blankenship, age 71, of Hondo passed away June 22, 2001, in Pecos. Graveside service: Wednesday, June 27, at Quihi Cemetary , Quihi.

Cresencia Estrada
     Cresencia Estrada, age 101, of Lytle passed away in Devine. She was born in Mexico on May 5, 1900. Mrs. Estrada was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church.
     Funeral service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church.

Clarence Anthony Haass
Clarence Anthony Haass, 88, lifelong resident of Hondo, died June 18, 2001. He was born Sept. 18, 1912. He worked for many years for the Hondo Post Office. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Friday, June 22, at St. John's Catholic Church, Hondo.

Menno M. Hamm
     Menno M. Hamm of San Antonio passed away June 13, 2001, at the age of 78.
     Menno was a S/Sgt in the US Air Force during WWII, and retired from the U.S. Civil Service.
     Rosary: 7 p.m. Sunday, June 17. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Monday. Both services at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D'Hanis.

Walter Warren Hemby
     Walter Warren Hemby, 37, of San Antonio died June 15, 2001.

Christian Jacob Hostetler
     Christian Jacob Hostetler, age 85, of Devine passed away Sunday, June 17, 2001, in Devine.
     Graveside service: 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, at the Wimberley Cemetery in Wimberley.

Michael Lee Ilse
     Michael Lee Ilse, age 59, of Houston died June 4, 2001. He received a BS in Landscape Architecture from Texas A&M University in 1964. He moved to Houston, working for Robert Caldwell and Associates, the architectural firm of Caudill Rowlett Scott, and, for the last 33 years, Vernon G. Henry & Associates.
     Funeral service: 2 p.m. Friday, June 15, in Earthman Bellaire Chapel in Houston.
     The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Houston, Gulf Coast Chapter, 2425 Fountainview, Suite 280, Houston, TX, 77057.

Stanley Gustave "Pud" Keller Jr.
Stanley Gustave "Pud" Keller Jr., Medina County Precinct 2 Commissioner, age 60, of Castroville passed away June 30, 2001. He was born April 24, 1941, in Castroville. Funeral: Mass of Resurrection at 7 p.m. Monday, July 2, at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment: at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, with military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.

Angie Rose Pavelka Koehler
      Angie Rose Pavelka Koehler, age 80, of San Antonio passed away June 12, 2001.
     Angie was a retired beautician and a member of the Catholic faith.

     Antonio Ortiz Martinez, age 86, of Lytle passed away June 20, 2001, in Lytle. He was born in Lytle, Feb. 27, 1915. Funeral service: 9 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel, Devine.

Randy Mendoza, age 43, of Little Rock, AR, formerly of Fort Smith, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, in Little Rock. He was a truck driver for Eagle Trucking Co. in Little Rock. Funeral service: 2 p.m. in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith, AR.

Pete Muzquiz, age 93, of Moore passed away on June 21, 2001. Pete¹s first love was cattle raising. Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, June 25, in St. Joseph¹s Catholic Church in Devine.

Robert E. "Bobby" Nester, age 71, of Hondo passed away June 24, 2001. He was born in Hondo Sept. 1, 1929. He was a rancher and owned and operated Nester's Supermarket for many years. Funeral service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hondo.

Troy Wayne Richardson, age 74, of Devine passed away Sunday, June 24, 2001, in San Antonio. He was born on Friday, June 10, 1927. Funeral service: 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel , Devine.

Olga Carolina Schweers Riff
     Olga Carolina Schweers Riff was born June 27, 1898, in the home of her parents, John H. and Elizabeth Heyen Schweers. She was baptized Aug. 28, 1898, and confirmed Sept. 8, 1911, in the New Fountain Methodist Church where she remained a member until her death on June 13, 2001, at the age of 102, 11 months and 17 days.
     Olga was a hard-working homemaker and enjoyed gardening and working outdoors.
     Funeral service: 10 a.m. Monday, June 18, at New Fountain United Methodist Church.

Guadalupe Gonzales Tapia
     Guadalupe Gonzales Tapia, age 62, of Hondo, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2001. She was born in Hondo, on June 30, 1938. She was the pastor of Templo De Dios Pentecostal in Hondo for five years. Funeral: 2 p.m. Friday, June 29, at Dawson Chapel. Interment: Hondo Cemetery.

Cheyenne Alexis Ward
     Cheyenne Alexis Ward was born June 6, 2001. She died June 30, 2001, at the age of three weeks, three days.
