Jesse S. Arcos Sr.," the Smiling Deputy," of Hondo passed away June 29, 2004, at the age of 77 years. Jesse was born on May 12, 1927, in Hondo. Funeral Mass was at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 3, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Myrlin C. Balzen, born May 5, 1919, passed away after a long illness June 10, 2004, in Kerrville, at the age of 85. A memorial service was held at the Church of the Latter Day Saints, corner of Coronado and Lois St. in Kerrville, Saturday, July 10, at 2 p.m.

Fred Robert Beck, age 49, of New Braunfels, passed away June 9, 2004. Fred was born Oct. 16, 1954. Funeral Mass was held Saturday, June 11, 9 a.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment was in St. Louis Cemetery.

Loyd Bunyan Blackwell, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 2, 2004, surrounded by his wife and family. He was born in San Antonio,
March 24,1916. Funeral service was held Saturday, June 5, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home, Devine. Interment followed at Moore Memorial
Cemetery.

Daniel Vincent "D.V." Day Jr. of Hondo, passed away Friday, June 18, 2004, at the age of 80. D.V. was born Jun. 12, 1924, in Crystal City. Funeral service was held Tuesday, June 22, 2 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Angelita C. De Leon of Pearsall entered into rest on June 21, 2004, at the age of 65. Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hondo Funeral Home. Funeral Mass 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jun. 24, at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery.

Francisco "Sisco" David Dominguez, age 16, of Georgetown passed away Friday, June 11, 2004, in Georgetown. Sisco was born April 14, 1988, in Austin. Rosary was recited Tuesday, June 15, at 7 p.m. at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, at St. Helen Catholic Church. Burial was at Georgetown Memorial Cemetery.

Anita M. Fraga, 57, of Natalia passed away Friday, June 18, 2004, in San Antonio. Rosary was recited on Monday, June 21, 2004, in the Chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home, Devine. A Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, June 22, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Natalia. Interment was at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Devine.

Wayne "Tiny" Formann, born March 23, 1955, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, June 20, 2004, at the age of 49. On Wednesday, June 23, family received visitors at 3 p.m. and a prayer service was held at 4 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home, San Antonio.

Tomas Gauna of Yancey passed away June 28, 2004, at the age of 80. Tomas was born on Dec. 29, 1923. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 1, and Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Friday, July 2, both at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment was in Yancey Cemetery.

Valerie M. Gonzales, age 20, of Natalia passed away Saturday, June 19, 2004, in rural Bexar County. She was born in San Antonio, June 6, 1984. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 24, at Prevailing Word Church, Lytle. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Annette Gottlieb of Hondo entered into rest on June 20, 2004, at the age of 65. A 3 p.m. memorial service was held on Thursday, June 24, at Hondo Funeral Home.

Francis Louis Graham of Natalia passed away Saturday, June 19, 2004, in Lytle at the age of 84. He was born in Rush Springs, OK, on Dec. 24, 1919. Graveside service was at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, at Evergreen Cemetery.

Jesusita "Consuella" Guajardo of Hondo passed away June 16, 2004, at the age of 80 years, 7 months, 22 days. Jesusita was born Oct. 25, 1923, in Hondo. Visitation was from 5 until 8 p.m. Thursday, June 17, at Guinn-Horger Chapel with Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. Friday, June 18, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and interment in Hondo Cemetery Oakwood Section.

Beverly Anne Gunn, 71, of Lytle passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2004, in San Antonio. Funeral service was Monday, June 7, at Lytle United Methodist Church. Eastern Star graveside services were conducted under the auspices of Lytle Chapter #335 O.E.S. at Lytle Masonic Cemetery.

Edward Fabian Gutierrez, age 38, of Devine passed away Sunday, June 6, 2004, in San Antonio. He was born on April 14, 1966, in San Antonio. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 10, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Jose Francisco Puente officiating. Interment was in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.

Francis "Frank" H. Lessing, age 76, of Macdona passed away June 18, 2004, in San Antonio. Frank was born June 7, 1928, in Macdona. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 21, at Tondre- Guinn Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was held at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church in Macdona on Tuesday, June 22, at 10 a.m. Interment was in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Macdona.

Jerry Edward Mann, age 55, of Bigfoot passed away Thursday, June 17, 2004, in Pearsall. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, in Hurley Funeral Chapel in Pearsall. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, June 23, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Interment was in Miguel Cemetery in Frio Co.

Ada May Williams McLeod, age 83, of La Coste passed away June 8, 2004, in San Antonio. Ada was born Dec. 17, 1920, in Jarrell. Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home opened for visitation Thursday, June 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral service was held Friday, June 11, at 2 p.m. at the Lawler First Baptist Church in Lawler. Interment will be in the Lawler Cemetery.

Larry L. Palmer, 61, died Saturday, June 12, 2004, at a San Antonio hospital. He was born August 1, 1942. A memorial service was conducted among relatives and friends Thursday, June 17, at Grimes Funeral Home, Kerrville.

Joe Earl Pollard, 82, of San Antonio, formerly of the Devine area, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at his residence. Funeral service was held Friday, June 25, in the Chapel of Hurley Funeral Home, Devine.

Ronald Leo Reak, age 59, of San Antonio passed away June 27, 2004, at home. He was born Nov. 8, 1944, in Batavia, NY. Funeral service was held Wednesday, June 30. Interment was at Castroville Community Cemetery with full military honors.

Victor Marvin Saathoff, age 81, of Hondo passed away June 10, 2004. He was born Oct. 14, 1922. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Monday, June 14, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. David J. Mayer officiating. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Jovita Juarez Saldana of Natalia passed away June 9, 2004, at the age of 99. She was born Sept. 12, 1904, in Devine. Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at Prevailing Word Church with Pastor Lynn Beams officiating. Interment followed in Moore Catholic Cemetery.

Darvin Louis Schultze Sr., age 71, of Hondo passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2004, in a Hondo care center. He was born Oct. 19, 1932, in San Antonio. Service was held on Friday, June 11, at 10:30 a.m., Grimes Chapel. Interment followed in the Bandera Cemetery.

Edwin M. Stanton of Devine entered into rest on June 8, 2004, at the age of 76. Graveside service was held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors on Tuesday, June 15.

Trecia Elizabeth Stewart, age 84, of Devine passed away Sunday, June 20, 2004. She was born in Yancey, Jan. 27, 1920. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Devine
with interment in Evergreen Cemetery.

Irene Olivia Bendele Stiles, age 85, of Houston passed away June 23, 2004, at St. Luke's Hospital. She was born in Medina County, on Aug. 17, 1918
Funeral was held St. Mark's Episcopal Church on June 28, 2004. Interment followed at Forest Park Westheimer in Houston.

Leslie Tidball, age 28, of San Antonio passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2004, in San Diego, CA. He was born in San Antonio, Aug. 27, 1975. Funeral service was at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 12, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J.D. Saunders officiating. Interment was in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Cecil Tindall, age 81, of San Antonio passed away June 10, 2004. He was born Oct. 5, 1922, in Cameron. Funeral service was at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at Porter Loring North Chapel. Interment followed in Sunset Memorial Park.

Dr. Everett B. Vincent, 89, of Hondo passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2004. He was born in West Lake, LA, on Oct. 15, 1914.     A memorial service was held Saturday, June 26, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Military services will follow at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Anna Marie Flores Webster, born on March 16, 1965, in Hondo went to be with Our Lord on June 28, 2004, at the age of 39. She was a victim of breast
cancer.   Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 1. Memorial service was held Friday, July 2, at Santo Niño Catholic Church, 5655 U.S. Hwy. 87 East, San
Antonio, for 11 a.m. Mass.

Vicente Ybarra of Hondo, passed away June 25, 2004, at the age of 88. Vicente was born on April 5, 1916. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 27, and Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Monday, June 28, both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Interment was held Tuesday, June 29, in Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.

Nancy Zinsmeyer, age 57, of Castroville passed away June 7, 2004, at home. Nancy was born March 11, 1947. Rosary was recited Wednesday, June 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Chapel. Funeral Mass was Thursday, June 10, at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment followed in Moore Cemetery in Moore.

Carlota Zapata of D'Hanis entered into rest on June 17, 2004, at the age of 86. A 7 p.m. Rosary was held at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Monday, June 21, at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Interment followed in San Francisco Cemetery in D'Hanis.

Candelario "Candy" Zepeda, age 74, of Castroville passed away June 24, 2004, in San Antonio. Candelario was born March 23, 1930, in Atascosa County. He was Pct. 2 Medina Co. Constable for 8 years and was a former deputy sheriff. Rosary was recited Sunday, June 27. The Funeral Mass was held Monday, June 28, at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment was at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville.
