Dorothy Hubbard Bendele, born February 6, 1911, went to be with the Lord Friday, July 18, 2008, at the age of 97. Funeral mass was Sunday, July 20, at St. Louis Church in Castroville. Rosary was recited Monday, July 21, at St. Louis Catholic Church. Entombment followed at St. John’s Mausoleum in the Hondo Cemetery.

Christina Luna Carmona, age 29, of Hondo passed away July 20, 2008. Rosary was recited on Wednesday, July 23, at Hondo Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass held on Thursday, July 24, 2008, at 1 p.m., at St. John’s Catholic Church. Interment in Hondo Cemetery.

Leslie Ralph Chancy, age 79, of Medina, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2008 in Kerrville Care Center. He was born on May 1, 1929 in Gatesville, Texas. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, July 9, at 10 a.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera with Pastor Bill Stegemuller and Dr. Allie Balko officiating. Another memorial service was held on Sunday,
July 13, at 1:30 p.m. at Riverhills Health and Rehab in Kerrville.

Maxine L. Crouch, age 65 of Devine, passed away Monday, July 14, 2008, in San Antonio. Visitation held Thursday, July 17, 2-9 p.m., at the Hurley Funeral Home. Funeral services conducted at 3 p.m., Friday, July 18, at First Baptist Church of Devine, with interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Virginia E. Everitt, age 76, of Hondo passed away peacefully in San Antonio on July 4, 2008. She was born on March 23, 1932, in El Paso. A Memorial Service to celebrate Virginia’s life was held on July 9, 2008 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hondo.

Juan C. Estrada, Sr. age 66 of Lytle passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008, in San Antonio. Rosary was recited Sunday, July 27. Mass was celebrated Monday, July 28, 2008, at Hurley Funeral Home in Lytle. Interment followed in Lytle Community Cemetery.

Janet Eileen Frick, age 65, of Natalia passed away at her residence on Friday, July 4, 2008. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 in the Chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home, Devine. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery.

Pete Garcia, age 51 of Lytle passed away Sunday, July 27, 2008 at his residence. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, July 30, 2008, in the Chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home, with interment following in Lytle Community Cemetery.

Sara ‘Sarita’ Hernandez Garcia passed away July 3, 2008 at Rocky Mountain Care in Clearfield, Utah. She was born November 2, 1911. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, July 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Josephs, Ogden. Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday from 9 to 9:45 p.m. Interment was in Aultorest Memorial Park.

Jose Damian Garza, age 41, of Hondo, passed away on July 19, 2008. Visitation held 5 - 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Rosary, on Thursday, July 24, at Hondo Funeral Home. Funeral Mass held Friday, July 25, at 1 p.m., at St. John’s Catholic Church. Interment in Hondo Cemetery.

David Christopher Holzhaus, 58, of Mico, passed away July 11, 2008 in Mico. He was born January 18, 1950 in San Antonio. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

James “Bill” Little was born at Fort Lewis, WA, on August 27, 1942. He passed away July 4, 2008. Bill Little was recently selected for City Administrator for the City of Castroville. Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home was open for visitation Thursday, July 10, 5 to 8 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass officiated by Rev. Jim Conway at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville Friday, July 11, at 10 a.m. Interment at Quihi Cemetery where Pastor Stephen Schur officiated the committal service.

Rosalie Burell Martinez of La Coste, went to be with the Lord on July 19, 2008 in San Antonio, at the age of 55. Rosalie was born August 13, 1952 in Castroville. Rosary was recited Tuesday, July 22, at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Her body was cremated.

Mildred Fern Allen Moody, age 82, of Devine, passed away Monday, July 28, 2008, in Hondo. Funeral services held Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 1 p.m. at New Fountain Methodist Church. Interment in New Fountain Cemetery.

Carolina M. Muniz, age 66, of Devine, passed away, Sunday, July 20, 2008, in Devine. Rosary was recited Wednesday, July 23, at Hurley Funeral Home, Devine. Funeral Mass held Thursday, July 24, 2008, at 10 a.m., in St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Devine. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.

On July 16, 2008, in the afternoon, Laura Jean Norvell, age 38, went home for her Coronation Day with God. Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, July 19, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with interment in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

James Joseph Richter of Hondo passed away Monday, July 14, 2008. He would have attained the age of 83 years had he lived two more days. He was born on July 16, 1925. The Rosary and the Memorial Mass was celebrated July 17, 2008, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo with Fr. Paul Cleary officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date.

John Anthony Rodriguez, III, age 20, of Devine passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008 in Devine. Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, July 21, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment followed at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Charles W. Smith, age 80 of Yancey, passed away on July 21, 2008. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Susan May Stansell of Devine, born April 1, 1952 in Crystal City went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 25, 2008, at the age of 56. Susan passed away in San Antonio, after a valiant fight with cancer. A memorial graveside service was held Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Evergreen Cemetery in Devine.

Connye Sue Davis Suehs, 62 of Castroville, died July 11, 2008, in Hondo. Connye Sue was born January 7, 1946, in Sweetwater. Rosary was recited Wednesday, July 16, at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Funeral service Thursday, July 17, 10:30 a.m., at Tondre-
Guinn Funeral Home.

Edna Trueper Weynand, 88, of Castroville, passed away July 11, 2008 in Castroville. She was born Jan. 24, 1920 in Prairie Valley. The Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home was open for Visitation on Monday, July 14, from 12 noon to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Mass of Resurrection was held Tuesday, July 15, at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment followed the Mass at Hondo Cemetery in Hondo.
