Margaret Ann Knopp Braham passed away July 29, 2006. She was born March 4, 1923, in Nixon. The family moved to Hondo in 1925. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church Episcopal in Hudson, Ohio, on August 5, at 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Christ Church Episcopal Foundation.

Cornelia Ida Burell, age 98, of Gonzales, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2006. She was born January 27, 1908 in Medina County. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Fr. Paul Raaz Monday, July 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment followed in St. James Cemetery in Gonzales.

Timothy Allen Copeland, age 40, of Tarpley, died Monday July 10, 2006, in a San Antonio hospital. He was born on August 23, 1965, in Sardis, MS. Olivia Massara Corona, age 77, of Bigfoot passed away Thursday, July 13, 2006, at her residence. Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment followed at Long-view Cemetery in Bigfoot.

Kenneth William ‘Kenny’ Ersch, age 50, of Comfort and Corpus Christi, and formerly of Fredericksburg, died Sunday, July 2, 2006. A memorial service was held Thursday, July 6, at 10:30 a.m., at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church with the Rev. Bobby Vitek officiating. Private interment of the ashes is planned at a later date. The family greeted friends Wednesday evening, July 5, in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home. Kenny was born March 5, 1956, in Fredericksburg. Daniel “Dan” Wade Janway was born in Ashmore, on June 9, 1938, and passed away in San Antonio, on Friday, July 28, 2006, at the age of 68 of heart disease. Memorial services held Saturday, August 5, at 3 p.m. at the Baptist Church, Hontubby, OK, officiated by the Reverends Wayne Fowler and Larry Yandell. Interment at the Blackfork Cemetery, Blackfork, AR.

Myrtle Elizabeth Hitzfelder Jungman, age 89, of La Coste, passed away July 19, 2006. Myrtle was born Nov. 19, 1916, in La Coste. Rosary was recited Thursday, July 20, at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home Chapel in Castroville. Funeral Mass was held on Friday, July 21, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste. Interment followed at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery, La Coste.

Florence Theresa Conrad Kempf, age 96, of Castroville, passed away July 16, 2006. Florence was born Aug. 14, 1909, in Castroville. Rosary was recited Tuesday, July 18, and Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, July 19, at 10 a.m., both at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment followed at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Castroville.

Ruby Mathilda Groff Man-gold, age 90, of Castroville, passed away July 27, 2006. Ruby was born July 29, 1915, in Dunlay. Rosary was recited Sunday, July 30, at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass was held on Monday, July 31, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment followed at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.

Joseph Gustava Schmidt, 84, of Texas City, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2006. “Joe” was born June 15, 1922, on a farm in Devine. Rosary was recited Friday at Emken-Linton Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 22, at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church in Texas City. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson.

Mary W. Sims, age 93, of Devine passed away Monday, July 24, 2006, at home. Funeral service was held Wednesday, July 26, 2006, in the Chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery.

Karen Lokelani Smart of Sabinal passed away on July 12, 2006, in the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, at the age of 47. She was born on November 4, 1958, in San Antonio. Graveside services were held on Saturday, July 15, in Jones Cemetery, Utopia, with Rev. Monty Benson officiating.

Bobby Lee Splawn, 38, of Devine passed away Saturday, July 22, 2006, at home. Funeral services was held Thursday, July 27, 2006 in the Rose Hill Church of Christ, Devine.

Kenneth D. Walker, 75, of Natalia passed away Monday, July 24, 2006, in San Antonio. Funeral service was held Friday, July 28, at the First Baptist Church of Natalia. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery.
