Rolf Emil "Snooks" Bohmfalk, age 81, passed away July 8, 2005, at his home in Hondo. He was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Wortham. Rosary was Sunday, July 10, at 7 p.m. and the Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Monday, both services were officiated by Fr. Wallis J. Stiles at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo. Burial was at Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Section.

Ruben O. Cerda, age 63, passed away Friday, July 29, 2005. Funeral Mass was held at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, in San Antonio.

Ethel Louise Baldwin Christie, age 82, of San Antonio passed away July 15, 2005, in San Antonio. Louise was born May 4, 1923 in Tallagega County, AL. Louise's wishes were to be cremated.

George Fernandez Jr., of Devine passed away Saturday, July 30, 2005, in San Antonio, at the age of 60. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Jose F. Puente officiating. Interment followed in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.

Juan Jose Fraga, age 36, of Natalia passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2005, in Atascosa County. He was born July 25, 1968, in Castroville. Funeral service was at 9 a.m. Friday, July 8, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church with Father Romeo Olivares officiating. Interment followed in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.

Ruthona Gay, of Castroville, went to be with the Lord on July 7, 2005, at the age of 82. Graveside service was at 10:15 a.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.

Winona Helen Henson, age 77, passed away on July 31, 2005, at the Val Verde Regional Medical Center in Del Rio. She was born on June 29, 1928, in Hondo. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m., Tuesday. Aug. 2, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel and led by Ramona Koch and Alleen Koch. The Funeral Mass, officiated by Rev. Jeff Pehl, was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Octaviano G. Hernandez, of Hondo, went to be with the Lord July 9, 2005, at the age of 81. Visitation was 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 11, and 10 a.m. Tuesday with prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, with all services at Hondo Funeral Home. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery.

Victoria Alcorta Ibarra of San Antonio, age 97, passed away July 22, 2005. She was born in Sabinal on Jan. 12, 1908. Rosary was recited Tuesday, July 26, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Mass was held Wednesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, followed by interment at San Francisco Cemetery, D'Hanis.

Jim Edd Jenkins, age 85, passed away on July 28, 2005, in Hondo. He was born on Feb. 4, 1920, in Dot. Visitation was Sunday, July 31, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home and the Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. David Mayer, was at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hondo. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Woodmen of the World Section.

Garland A. Martin Jr., age 77, of San Francisco, CA, passed away Friday, July 15, 2005. He was raised in Hondo and graduated from Hondo High School
in 1945. Graveside service, conducted by Rev. Beverly Burk, was held at Oakwood Cemetery Friday, July 22, at 10 a.m.

Cynthia Kay Martinez, age 43, passed away Friday, July 15, 2005. She was born in Minneapolis, MN. She had lived in Devine for the past 20 years. Visitation was Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home. Funeral was held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home with Pastor Odis Doyal officiating. Interment followed in evergreen Cemetery.

Frances Haegelin Meyer, age 88, passed away on June 29, 2005, in Alpharetta, GA. She was born on June 12, 1917, in Hondo. The Rosary was recited Tuesday, July 5, at 9:30 a.m. and the Funeral Mass, officiated by Rev. Francisco Puente, was at 10 a.m., both services were at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial followed at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Our very beloved mother, Stella Finger Ney, age 87, passed away on July 2, 2005, in San Antonio. Stella was born Feb. 20, 1918, in D'Hanis. Rosary was recited Wednesday, July 6, at 9:30 a.m., and the Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m., both services officiated by Fr. Wallis J. Stiles at Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery in D'Hanis.

Elmer Adolph August Nietenhoefer, age 90, left this earth on June 14, 2005. A lifelong resident in the Hondo area, he was born on July 4, 1914, in the Vandenburg community. The funeral was conducted at the Guinn- Horger Funeral Home by Pastor Stephen Schur. Interment followed at the Hondo Cemetery.

James William Noblitt , age 84, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2005. He was born March 1, 1921, in Bonham. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 15 in Hurley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery.

Curtis Lee Parsons, age 45, of Castroville passed away July 14, 2005. Curtis was born Dec. 26, 1959, in Ft. Sumter, South Carolina. Visitation was held prior to the memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 17, at the Medina Valley United Methodist Church in Castroville.

Col. Jimmy T. Rice, USAF (Ret.) passed away on Monday, July 1, 2005, in Norman, OK. He was born 87 years ago, in Greenville. Funeral service was held at 11:30 Wednesday, July 6, in St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Entombment followed in Sunset Mausoleum 5000.

Evarista "Eva" Aguirre Rymers, age 78, of Castroville passed away July 30, 2005, in San Antonio. Eva was born Oct. 26, 1926, in Castroville. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, at St. Louis Catholic Church. The Mass was held Wednesday, Aug. 3, 10 a.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment was at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville.

Domingo Sanchez, 84, of Lockney passed away July 22, 2005. He was born Oct. 16, 1920, in Hondo. Rosary as recited Sunday, July 24, and Funeral Mass was held Monday, both at San Jose Catholic Church in Lockney. Interment was in Lockney Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lockney Health Rehabilitation Center, 401 N.

Georgia Sanchez of Bigfoot went to be with the Lord on July 7, 2005, at the age of 63. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 10. A 2 p.m. funeral service was held on Monday, July 11, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints in Hondo. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery in Devine.

Jacinto Sanchez, age 62, passed away on July 15, 2005, in San Antonio. He was born Aug. 17, 1942, in Hondo. Prayer service was held Tuesday, July 19, at 7 p.m. and the funeral service was at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, both at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Burial was at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

John Duane Tarvin Sr., age 71, of Hondo passed away July 24, 2005, from lung cancer. John was born March 17, 1934, in Havana, IL. A prayer service was held on Wednesday, July 27, 9:30 a.m., at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. His wishes were to be cremated.

Elida Quintanilla Trevino, age 68, of Uvalde passed away July 22, 2005, at Uvalde Memorial Hospital. She was born March 18, 1937, in Hondo. Funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Uvalde with Fr. Anthony Mendoza officiating. Interment in Hondo Cemetery, Hondo.

Matilde Trevino of Hondo went to be with the Lord on July 16, 2005, at the age of 82. Visitation was on Tuesday and Wednesday. Rosary was held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and a Prayer Service was held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The funeral procession Thursday, July 21, at 9:30 a.m. for 10 a.m. Mass at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment in Guadalupe Section of Hondo Cemetery.

Mary "Marie" Magdalen Echtle Tschirhart, age 85, of Devine passed away July 3, 2005, in San Antonio. Mary was born Feb. 22, 1920, in Bexar County. Mass was held Tuesday, July 5, at 7 p.m. and Rosary was recited Wednesday at 10 a.m., both at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment followed the rosary at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.

Angela Jean Utterback, age 25, of Devine passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2005, in San Antonio. She was born in Hondo, November 25, 1979. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 29, at Black Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Jones officiating. Interment followed in Tomerlin Cemetery.

Angelica Vasquez, age 93, passed away Friday, July 15, 2005. She was born Jan. 18, 1912, in D'Hanis. Rosary was at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 19 at Memorial Home and Mass was at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Guadalupe Church with graveside service at Fort Sam Cemetery at 11:15 a.m.
