Fecundo Alvarado of Blue Island, IL, passed away July 2, 2003, in Harvey, IL, at the age of 60 years. He was born Sept. 23, 1942, in Hondo. He was known in Blue Lake as "Frank" and in Hondo as "Cunnie". Visitation and a wake service were held at Hickey Memorial Chapels on Monday, and visitation and rosary service were held at Guinn-Horger Chapel
Wednesday. Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 10, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood
Section.

Sybil Juanita Ray Anthony of Lytle passed away at the age of 91 on July 19, 2003. She was born Jan. 16, 1912, in Temple. A memorial service was held on Monday, July 28, at the Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, Devine. Interment was Wednesday, July 23, at the Fairmount Cemetery in San Angelo.

Vera G. Bendele entered into rest on July 24, 2003, at the age of 82. A Rosary was recited Sunday July 27, at Hondo Funeral Home. Mass was held Monday July 28, at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery.

Stephanie Jay Bennett, age 17, was tragically killed in a car accident on Wednesday, July 9, 2003. Stephanie was born Nov. 1, 1985. She is survived by her father and step-mother, Jay and Carla Bennett of Sabinal; mother, Alma Rosa Musquiz and husband, Richard, of Uvalde. A graveside service was held Friday, July 11, 2003, at 3 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Uvalde. Service was conducted by Rev. Monty Benson.

Allan August Biegert Jr., born Aug. 10, 1928, on what would become Randolph Air Force Base, passed away in Schertz on Wednesday, July 9, 2003, surrounded by his family. Funeral service was held Saturday, July 12, at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Cibolo with Senior Pastor Brett Becker and Associate Pastor Willie Stratemann officiating. Interment followed at Comal Cemetery in New Braunfels.

Irene Lena Blackburn passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2003, at the age of 72. She was born in LaCoste on Oct. 28, 1930. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednes- day, July 9, at Dellcrest Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery No. 3.

Clyde Cox, 87, of Pearsall passed away Wednes- day, July 9, 2003, in Jourdanton. Graveside service was held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 11, at the Pearsall City Cemetery.

Christina "Tina" Cuellar passed away July 12, 2003, in Hondo at the age of 17 years, 11 months, and three days. She was born Aug. 9, 1985. Visitation was Sunday at the Guinn-Horger Chapel with a Prayer Service led by Gegi Villa. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 14, at Primero Iglesia Bautista Mexicana in Hondo. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Robert "Bob" Alton Faseler, age 89, entered eternal rest on July 1, 2003, at his home near Yancey. He was born Dec. 15, 1913. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 4, at First United Methodist Church in Hondo, followed by interment in the Yancey Cemetery with Rev. Bert Clayton and Gale Long officiating.

Edward P. Gonzales Sr., age 87, passed away July 17, 2003, in San Antonio. He was born May 23, 1916, in Poteet. Visitation and Rosary was Sunday, July 20, at the Tondre-Guinn Chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, July 21, at 10 a.m. at St. Louis
Catholic Church and interment was at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville.

MaryLena Georgia Graber passed away July 22, 2003, in Berthoud, CO, at the age of 80. She was born Jan. 16, 1923, in Hondo. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 28, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hondo. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Maria Moncada Guerra passed away July 16, 2003, in San Antonio at the age of 58, after having under- gone heart surgery. She was born December 4,
1944, in Yancey. Rosary was recited by Rose Mary Galvan at 7 p.m. Friday and the Funeral Mass was at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment was in Yancey Cemetery. Fr. Jeff Pehl officiated.

Howard H. Huesser, age 85, of D'Hanis passed away Thursday, July 17, 2003. Born in Hondo on Aug. 24, 1917. Rosary was recited Sunday, July 20, by Deacon Richard Edminson. Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 21, with Father Jeff Pehl officiating. Both services were at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial was at the Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Section.

Angelita S. Juarez, age 81, of Natalia passed away Friday, July 25, 2003, in San Antonio. She was born in Lytle on April 16, 1922. Funeral service was Wednesday, July 30, at St. John Bosco Catholic
Church with Father Romeo Olivares. Interment was in San Lorenzo Cemetery.

Toney Monroe Keeney, age 60, passed away on July 13, 2003, in Bend. He was born Oct. 14, 1942, in San Saba. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, at Howell-Doran Funeral Home in San Saba. Burial was at the Chappel Cemetery in San Saba.

Paz Lara Jr. passed away July 19, 2003, in San Antonio at the age of 46, from a short battle with cancer. Rosary was recited on Monday, July 21, by Joe Mares, and words of comfort and music by Albert Villa. Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, July 22, at St. John's Catholic Church with Rev. Jeff Pehl officiating. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery.

A. W. Mooney, formerly of Hondo, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in Longview. Visitation was 0n Friday evening and funeral service was Saturday,
Aug. 2, 2 p.m., at New Fountain United Methodist Church under the direction of Guinn-Horger Funeral Home, Hondo.

Henry Eugene "Gene" Norwood, passed away July 17, 2003, at the age of 72, in Abilene. He was born Aug. 3, 1930, in Medina and grew up and went to school in Hondo. Funeral service and interment were held Sunday, July 20, in DeLeon.

Ethel Lee Reid, age 83, of Alvin died Wednesday, July 16, 2003, in Alvin. Ethel was born Oct. 22, 1919, in Yancey.

Juan D. Reyes passed away at the age of 72 on July 22, 2003, in San Antonio. Rosary was recited Thursday, July 24, at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was concelebrated at Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in San Antonio on Friday, July 25. Interment was at the Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section, in Hondo.

Alejandra Valdez Saldana of Pearsall passed away Thursday, July 17, 2003. She was born in Buda on April 23, 1918. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Jorge Baestra officiating. Interment was in
Moore Catholic Cemetery.

Charles Roger Scantlin, age 60, of Rockport and formerly of Devine, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2003, in San Antonio. A memorial service was held Sunday, July 20, 2003, at the Black Creek Baptist Church, Devine.

Clifford Edward Schautteet, age 42, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2003. He was born on Feb. 7, 1961 in San Antonio. The funeral was held on Tuesday, July 29 at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Lytle. Interment followed in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Devine.

Halie and Katie were welcomed into the loving and welcoming arms of the Lord on July 29, 2003. Their parents, Becky and Willie Scott, mourn their short lives, but are thankful for the time they were given with them. A private graveside service was held on Aug. 1, 2003.

Adrian Anthony Sedillo, 36, of Devine, passed away Friday, July 25, 2003, at his residence. Mass was celebrated Monday, July 28 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Devine. Interment followed at Mission Park North Cemetery, San Antonio.

Julius "Doc" Stein, age 67, of Castroville passed away July 31, 2003, in San Antonio. Julius was born May 10, 1936, in Hondo. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 7:30 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church
in Castroville. Rosary was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, also at St. Louis Catholic Church with Father Mike Horan as the celebrant for both services. Interment was at St. Louis Cemetery in Castroville.

Catherine E. (Doehne) Tally, age 87, of Hondo died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Knopp Nursing Home No. 1 in Fredericksburg. She was born Aug. 16, 1915, in Galveston. Graveside service and interment were held Monday, July 28, at 11 a.m.,
in the Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery at Cherry Spring with the Rev. David A. Heidtke officiating.

James "Jim" Traylor, 76, of Devine passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2003, in San Antonio. Funeral service was held Saturday, July 12, in the Chapel of Hurley Funeral Home. Interment with military honors was at Evergreen Cemetery, Devine.

William Anthony Velez, infant, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2003, in San Antonio. He is survived by father, Sergio G. Velez and mother, Julia R. Perez; brother, Thomas Perez; sister, Kristina Perez, all of Lytle. Graveside service was at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at Lytle Community Cemetery with Father Romeo Olivares officiating.

Daisy Braly Weirich passed away July 12, 2003, in San Antonio at the age of 86 years. She was born March 12, 1917, in Athens, AL. Visitation was Tuesday, July 15, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Grave- side service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, at Der Stadt Friedhof Cemetery in Fredericksburg.

Jacqueline Janet Wilson passed away July 27, 2003, in San Antonio, at the age of 73. She was born August 14, 1929, in Fredericksburg. The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Interment was in Yancey Cemetery.

Ruby M. Zoller, age 91, of Pearsall passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2003, in Pearsall. She was born in Clifton, Jan. 21, 1912. Graveside service was at Beeville Memorial Park with Pastor Brian Blackburn officiating.
