Mary Elizabeth Adams, 70 of Yoakum, formerly of Hagerstown, MD, and Plairsville, PA, died on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004. A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown, MD. Rev. John W. Ailstock officiating.

Cyril R. Aelvoet, age 78, of Castroville passed away Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at his home. Cyril was born Oct. 6, 1925, in San Antonio. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, at St. Louis
Catholic Church in Castroville. Rosary was recited on Monday, Jan. 5, at 10 a.m., followed by entombment in St. Louis Garden Mausoleum in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.

Baby Juan Martin Arizola III, passed away on Jan. 20, 2004. He is survived by his parents, Juan Martin Arizola Jr. and Amanda Hammond Arizola; Visitation was at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, and chapel service was at 1 p.m. at Hondo Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery,
Hondo.

Brant Thomas Aase Beck, was delivered to Jesus on Jan. 13, 2004. Survivors include his parents, Ty Aase Beck and Megan Costello of Castroville. A memorial service was held on Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at 7 p.m. with Rev. Mike Horan officiating at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home.

Billy Norfleet Bizzell of Hondo, passed away Jan. 1, 2004, in Hondo at the age of 73. He was born in Kensett, AR, on May 8, 1930. A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 10, at 10 a.m. at Fort Clark's Golf Course Clubhouse.

Doris J. Blair passed away on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at the age of 78. She was born on Oct. 31, 1925. Memorial service was conducted Friday, Jan. 16, at 1 p.m. in John Calvin Presbyterian Church with Pastor Malcom L. McQueen officiating.

Robert L. "Ratzy" Burell, age 79, of Castroville passed away Saturday, January 3, 2004,   in Castroville. Ratzy was born Aug. 20, 1924, in Medina
County.   The Rosary and Funeral Mass were held consecutively, Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Entombment followed in St. Louis Garden Mausoleum in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.

Julia Alvarado Contreras, age 59, of Sabinal passed away Jan. 23, 2004, at her residence. Mass of resurrection was celebrated at 11 Saturday, Jan. 24, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sabinal with Father Pedro Molina officiating.   Interment followed in the Sabinal Cemetery.

Ramon Contreras, age 60, of Devine passed away on Monday, Jan. 5, 2004. Visitation was Thursday, Jan. 8, at Hondo Funeral Home. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. that evening at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Natalia. Mass was at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church. Interment followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Devine.

Randall Hank Dennis, age 45, of Austin, formerly of Devine, passed away Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, in Austin. He was born in Valdese, NC., Aug. 9,
1958. Funeral service was at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Louis Retzhoff officiating. Interment was at Fort Sam
Houston National Cemetery.

Christine Elizabeth Ducos, age 53, of Las Vegas, NV, passed away Jan. 25, 2004, in Los Angeles, CA. Christine was born Feb. 8, 1950, in Castroville. Visitation was on Sunday, Feb. 1, from 4 to 8 p.m. Rosary was at 7 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 1, at Tondre- Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. The Funeral
Mass was Monday, Feb. 2, at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment followed in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.

Ann Risinger Finger Flinn was born Jan. 11, 1916, and passed away Jan. 5, 2004, six days shy of
her 88th birthday. Rosary was recited Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis. Funeral Mass was held Thursday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Fr. Wallis J. Stiles and Msgr. Vincent Fecher officiating.

Dorothy Foote, age 78, of Devine, formerly of Broussardville, Canada, passed away Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at her residence. Graveside service was held Friday, Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Fort Sam
Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio.

Dorothy Jewell Plunkett Haby, age 77, of San Antonio passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, in San Antonio. Jewell was born Nov. 24, 1926, in
Thornton. Visitation was on Saturday, Jan. 24, with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. The Funeral Mass was
Sunday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment was in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.

John William Hartman went to be with his Lord on Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at the age of 81 years, five months. He was born Aug. 4, 1922, at the family home seven miles north of Hondo. Visitation was Tuesday evening and graveside service was held Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 2 p.m. with Pastor David Mayer of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating.

Maria V. Hernandez, age 79, of Natalia passed away Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, in San Antonio. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church and officiated by Father Romeo Olivares. Interment followed at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.

Nicolasa Hernandez, age 84, passed away Jan. 22, 2004. She was born on Sept. 10, 1919, in Hondo.
The Rosary was held Monday, Jan. 26, at 7 p.m. and the Funeral Mass was Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m., both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church
in Hondo. Interment following at the Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.

Christopher Daniel Lessing, age 51, of Norwood, CO, formerly of San Antonio, passed away Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, in Grand Junction, CO. Chris was born July 26, 1952, in San Antonio. Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home was open for visitation on Thursday, Jan.
8, from 3 to 8 p.m., with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass was held at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church in Macdona on Friday, Jan. 9, at 10 a.m. Interment in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery
followed the mass. Masses may be offered at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Chris' memory.

Abundio Flores Lopez, 71, of Friona passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2004. Graveside service was held Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, 11 a.m., at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section, with Deacon Richard Edminson officiating.

Monica Mata, 25, of Hondo passed away Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004. She was born in Ogden, UT, Dec. 2, 1978. Graveside service was held Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, 2:30 p.m. at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section, with Deacon Richard Edminson officiating.

Sidney Allen Mays Jr. of Alexandria, VA, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at the age of 72. He was born at Fort Sam Houston, June 1, 1931. Graveside service was at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Louis Retzloff.

Anna Mae Rihn Mumme of Lytle passed away on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at the age of 78. She was born in Devine. Funeral service was held on Thursday, Jan. 29, at 10 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Lytle. Interment followed at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Devine.

James Herman Oreschnigg of Galveston passed away Jan. 18, 2004, in Galveston at the age of 49. He was born in Corpus Christi on Jan. 15, 1955. Graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at the Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville.

Pedro R. Ramirez of Hondo entered into rest on Jan. 15, 2004, at the age of 87. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at the funeral home. Mass was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at St. John's Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment was in the Oakwood Section, Hondo Cemetery.

Paula P. Reyes, age 82, passed away Jan. 23, 2004. She was born on June 29, 1921, in Hondo. The Rosary was Sunday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. and the Funeral Mass was Monday, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m., both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo. Interment followed at the Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.

Isabel R. "Chavel" Rodriguez, age 68, passed away Jan. 25, 2004. He was born on Nov. 5, 1934, in Hondo. Prayer service was held Tuesday, Jan. 27, and funeral service was Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m., both at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home in Hondo. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Lola Puneda Rodriguez, age 62, of Sabinal passed away Jan. 17, 2004, at University Medical Center, Lubbock. She was born in Tenaha, May 25, 1941. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Fr. Pedro Molina officiating. Interment in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery.

Luella Mae (Wiemers) Schweers died Wednesday, January 1, 2004, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple. She was born seven miles southeast of Hondo on October 21, 1913. Funeral service was held Saturday, Jan. 3, at New Fountain United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Charles Parker officiating. Interment was at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. The Order of the Eastern Star rites were conducted by Hondo Chapter #404.

Maxine Louise Shane, age 81, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004. She was born Aug. 19, 1922, in Sabinal. Rosary was at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Porter Loring Chapel. Mass was at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Interment followed in Holy Cross Cemetery in D'Hanis.

Floyd Lewis (Pete) Stein, age 83, passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, in San Antonio. He was born Feb. 29, 1920, in Boerne. Funeral service was held Friday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville. Interment will be Saturday, Jan. 24, at 11:30 a.m. at the Boerne Cemetery in Boerne.

Lila Ruth Stephenson of Medina County, born May 28, 1921, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 25, 2004, at the age of 82. Funeral service was at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Interment followed at Mission Burial Park South.

Mattie Kathryne Thomas, age 92, of Marietta, GA, and formerly of Devine, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, in Marietta, GA. Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, at First Baptist Church, Devine, with Dr. Glenn Young officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

Ursula Vargas, passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004. Visitation was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27 with prayer service being at 7 p.m. Interment was on Wednesday, Jan. 28, in Panteon San Juan de Mata in Allende Coah, Mexico.

Barbara Weaver, age 72, of San Antonio passed away Jan. 1, 2004.   A memorial service will be held at a later date.   Arrangements are by Hondo Funeral Home, Hondo.

Mildred Christene Wharton passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, in Hondo at the age of 88.     She was born August 24, 1915, in Enloe .   Funeral service was be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home with Rev. Beverly Slusher officiating. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. at the Wharton Family Cemetery outside of Kerrville.

Lenna (Felts) White of Sabinal passed away Jan. 7, 2004, in Uvalde at the age of 96. She was born in Sabinal on March 18, 1907.    Graveside service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Sabinal
Cemetery.

Victor B. Williams, affectionately known as "Nardie" by his family members, age 76, passed away at his home early Saturday morning, Jan. 31, 2004, after an extended illness. Graveside service was held Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 2 p.m. at Lytle Community Cemetery.

Ret. Senior M/Sgt. W.L. (Bill) Williams went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at the age of 92. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Funeral service was Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Mission Park Funeral Home and was conducted by Rev. Gale Long. Interment followed at Mission Burial Park South.
