For the kids… A silent auction held during last week’s Medina County Women’s Conference raised $2,300 to benefit the Bluebonnet Children’s Advocacy Center. Executive Director Rodger Clark accepted the check from (left) Sandy Kunkel and Mindy Coyne.


D’Hanis murder trial begins....  Opening statements were offered Monday in District Court in the murder trial of Stacie Voigt Etzel, as the state began its prosecution of her for the shooting death of her husband.

Council moves to 2nd phase of library project.... Hondo City Council on Monday stopped short of committing to a 12% tax increase, but still approved a $128,961.50 contract with CDS Muery for design development, construction documents, bid and bidding phase services for the new Hondo Public Library.  Read More

Two Hondo runners advance; teams place 5th at district meet.....  Bandera -- Neither of the Hondo varsity cross country teams placed high enough at the District 29-AAAA meet last Wednesday, Oct. 22, to qualify for the Region IV meet, but two Hondo individual runners did earn the right to advance.     Read More
