Paul Oscar Bendele, age 99, of Hondo passed away Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004. He was born on October 2, 1904, in Dunlay . Rosary was recited at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, prior to the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Entombment was at the Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Mausoleum.

Maurice Gilbert "Windy" Biediger, age 70, of La Coste passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, in San Antonio. Maurice was born Sept. 20, 1933, in LaCoste. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, and the Funeral Mass was held Saturday, Feb. 28, at 10 a.m., both at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste, followed by interment at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.

Edith Benton of Sabinal passed away Wednesday, Mar. 9, 2004, at her home. Graveside service was held Sunday, Mar. 14, 3 p.m., at Sabinal Cemetery.

Allan A. Black, age 89, of Castroville passed away Feb. 5, 2004, in Castroville. Allan was born Mar. 31, 1914, in Corpus Christi. Visitation was on Sunday, Feb. 8, from 2:30 to 4:45 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass was at 6 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 8, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. The Rosary was Monday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. Interment followed the Rosary in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.

Pamfila Cordova, age 76, of San Antonio passed away Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004. She was born in Natalia, June 1, 1927. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Msgr. Adolfo Valdivia- Aquirre. Interment followed in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.

Robert Lee Cosgrove, age 80, of Canyon Lake, formerly of Hondo and Castroville, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004. He was born January 9,
1924. Graveside service was held Friday, Feb. 20, at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section, with Rev. Charles Parker of New Fountain United Methodist Church officiating. Military honors were provided by the U. S. Coast Guard.

Henry Jean Darche, age 83, of Hondo, formerly of Houston, passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2004. He was born Oct. 18, 1920, at Corpus Christi. Funeral service was held Monday, Mar. 1, 2 p.m., at the Guinn-Horger Funeral Home and interment was at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

John David "Johnny" FitzSimon, age 51, of Castroville, passed away Feb. 23, 2004, in Hondo.
Johnny was born Oct. 10, 1952, in San Antonio. Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. and Rosary was held Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 10 a.m., both at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment was at St. Louis Cemetery in Castroville.

Lydie Denise Haines, entered into rest on Feb. 29, 2004, at the age of 95. A private memorial service was held Friday, Mar. 5, 2004.

Ethyl Magdalene Henry, age 88, of Jourdanton passed away Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, in Hondo. Visitation was held Monday, Feb. 9, at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton. The funeral service was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, also at Hurley Funeral Home. Interment was at Fowlerton City Cemetery in Fowlerton.

Eddie Wayne Luce, age 58, of Hondo, fomerly of Uvalde, passed away Feb. 26, 2004. He was born June 14, 1945, at Ft. Sam Houston. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Monday, Mar. 1, 2004, at the First Baptist Church of Hondo. Interment was at 2 p.m. at the Montell Cemetery, Montell.

Juan P. Martinez, age 55, of Castroville passed away Feb. 2, 2004, in Castroville. Juan was born Sept. 15, 1948, in Castroville. Visitation was on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Rosary followed at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass was Monday, Feb. 5, at 3 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment followed the mass in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.

Nathan Montgomery, age 80 of Perris, CA, passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, in a California hospital. He is a brother of Thelma Burden of Hondo. Memorial service was held at Miller Jones Chapel in Perris Thursday, Feb. 26, at 12 noon, followed by interment at Riverside National Cemetery at 1 p.m.

Frank Muzquiz, Jr., age 89, of Moore, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, in San Antonio. He was born August 4, 1914. Visitation was held Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Hurley Funeral Home, Devine.
Rosary was also recited, Feb. 7, in the Hurley Funeral Home Chapel, Devine. Mass was celebrated Sunday, Feb. 8 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Devine. Burial followed in the Moore Catholic Cemetery in Moore.

Dorothy G. (Ney) Pichel of Temecula, CA, passed away Feb. 18, 2004, at the age of 78, in Murrieta, CA. She was born on Dec. 29, 1925.    Graveside service held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 24, at the Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Section.

Robert Bailey Pilgrim Sr., age 70, of Lytle passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, in Lytle, where he was born on April 19, 1933.    Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Monday, Mar. 1, at First Baptist Church of Lytle with Rev. Grady Summers officiating. Interment was in Lytle Masonic Cemetery.

Cody Wayne Ricks, age 28, of La Coste passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at his home. Cody Wayne was born Sept. 19, 1975, in Del Rio. Funeral service was held Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, followed by interment at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Castroville.

Cemetery, Oakwood Section, with Rev. Charles Parker of New Fountain United Methodist Church officiating.

Claudie (Dougan) Rogers, age 87, of San Antonio passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, in Kerrville. Claudie was born Nov. 23, 1916, in Trinity County.      Funeral service was held Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2 p.m., at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Interment was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Castroville.

Cristina Resendez Salas, age 67, of La Coste passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, in San Antonio. She was born July 24, 1936, in Corpus Christi.    Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18. Funeral Mass was held Thursday, Feb. 19, 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, LaCoste. Interment of her ashes was Saturday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, La Coste.

Charles Lawrence Snyder, 54, of Reno, NV, formerly of D'Hanis, passed away Feb. 14, 2004. He was born Jan. 26, 1950, in Hondo.     Graveside service was held Friday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. at the Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section, with Rev. Charles Parker of New Fountain United Methodist Church officiating. Full military honors were provided by the U. S. Air Force.

Lee William Tschirhart, age 83, of Castroville, passed away Feb. 18, 2004, in San Antonio. Lee was born June 20, 1920, in Rio Medina. Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, Feb. 21, 9 a.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church, with interment at St. Louis Cemetery, Castroville.

Marvin Daniel Williams Jr., of Atascosa passed away Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at the age of 25. He was born Oct. 19, 1978 in Jourdanton. Graveside service was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Barney Williams Cemetery with Pastor Keith Dennis officiating.

Kenneth Robert Wilson, age 59, of Chewelah, WA, passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2004. He was born Oct. 2, 1944, in Memphis, TN. Memorial service was held Friday, Mar. 12, at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hondo.
