Santos Barron, age 75, of Hondo passed away in San Antonio, Feb. 17, 2003. He was born in Hondo, April 16, 1927. Rosary was at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at Guinn-Horger Chapel, led by Richard Edminson. Funeral Mass was at 2 p.m. Friday, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, with Rev. Jeff Pehl officiating. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

John Henry Batot, Sr.

John Henry Batot, Sr., age 63, of San Antonio passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, in San Antonio. He was born August 7, 1939, in Hondo. Visitation was held Thursday, Feb. 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. and the Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment followed in the Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Section, in Hondo.

Lois Lee Ratliff Bell

Lois Lee Ratliff Bell was born on June 5, 1919, in Denton. She went to be with our Lord on Feb. 1, 2003. Service was at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels with Rev. Ron Vanderweert officiating. Interment followed in Hondo City Cemetery.

David Wayne Billebault

David Wayne Billebault, born July 7, 1961, in San Antonio, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 9, 2003, after he lost his fight with cancer. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, in Hurley
Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

Zelda Faye Bonam, age 62, of San Antonio passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2003. She died as the result of an automobile accident in Louisiana as she and her husband traveled to a revival meeting where they were to be guest speakers. Visitation was Friday and funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Sunset Northwest Chapel, San Antonio, with Dr. Tom Heath, Dr. Joe Sharp and Rev. Don Stone officiating. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park.

Marvin Wesley Camp, age 87, of La Coste passed away Feb. 26, 2003, in Castroville. He was born Jan. 8, 1916, in Temple. Funeral service was held Saturday, Mar. 1, at 10 a.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville. Interment   followed the service in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in La Coste.

Everardo Ramos Casarez, age 62, of San Antonio passed away Feb. 27, 2003. He was born Oct. 3, 1940, in Mexico.      Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 1, in Castillo Mission Funeral Home, San Antonio. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.

Celia Castillo, age 61, of Baytown, passed away Feb. 26, 2003. She was born Mar. 2, 1941.   Service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 1, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, D'Hanis. Interment followed in San Francisco Cemetery, D'Hanis.

Thomas "Tom" H. Coggin

Thomas "Tom" H. Coggin, age 90, of Devine passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2003. He was born in Bigfoot, Mar. 23, 1912. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Minister James Wilson officiating. Interment was in Brummett Cemetery, Bigfoot.

Frances Rutiaga Faseler, age 54, passed away Feb. 27, 2003, while at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. She was born in Raymondville, on June 1,
1948. Funeral service was held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 1, at First United Methodist Church, Raymondville, with James Schendel officiating. Interment followed at Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery.

Leroy Alfred Faseler was born in Yancey. He died at Chandler Estates Hospice Hospital in San Antonio on Feb. 19, 2003, at the age of 82. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at Yancey United
Methodist Church, led by Butch Morgan and David Crabtree, assisted by A.V. McCrea and Rick Peterson and a choir of family members accompanied by pianist Vi Faseler. Interment was in Yancey Cemetery.

Raul G. "Roy" Fernandez

Raul G. "Roy" Fernandez, age 60, of Devine passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, in San Antonio. He was born in Devine, Dec. 22, 1942. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at St. Jospeh's Catholic
Church with Msgr. Adolfo Valdivia-Aguirre officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

Jacob Ryan "J.R." Gooding, age 24, of New Braunfels passed away Feb. 19, 2003. He was born in Hondo, Sept. 8, 1978. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at Guinn-Horger Chapel, led by George Randall, a Navy chaplain. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section, with military honors.

Francis David Howard

Francis David Howard, affectionately known as "Chink" to his friends, passed away Feb. 1,2003, in San Antonio, at the age 80. He was born Sept. 10, 1922, in Eagle Pass. Graveside service was at 2:30 p.m., Feb. 7, at Fort Sam Houston National
Cemetery led by George Randall, minister, Church of Christ, Hondo.

Loney C. Jennings, age 86, of Belton died in a Belton nursing center Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003. She was born October 19, 1916, in Bandera County. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton with Rev. Billy Johnson officiating. Graveside service was held at 4 p.m. in the Tarpley Cemetery in Tarpley.

Chistopher Edward Johnson

Chistopher Edward Johnson of Helotes passed away Feb. 7, 2003, at the age of 15. He is survived by parents, Gary E. and Nancy Ann (Finger) Johnson;
brother and sister, Jacob Allan and Jessica Ann; grandparents, Jack and Jurleen Finger, all of Helotes, and Al and Sally Jurek of Saginaw, MI. Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery, D'Hanis.

Mary Alvina Mann

Mary Alvina Mann, age 80, of Devine passed away, Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, in Devine. She was born in Fay, OK, May 27, 1922. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Hurley Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Dale Park officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Wilkes Otto Martin

Wilkes Otto Martin, 75, of Hondo passed away Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003, at the VA Hospital in Kerrville.
He was born Aug. 23, 1927, in Hondo. Rosary was recited Tuesday, Feb. 11, 7 p.m., and Funeral Mass celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 12, both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo. Interment was in Yancey Cemetery. Rev. Jeff Pehl officiated.

Billy J. Musick Sr.

Billy J. Musick Sr., age 59, passed away Feb. 12, 2003. Funeral service was at 10:30 a.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church, San Antonio. Interment was in Lytle Masonic Cemetery.

Lorene McDaniel Coker Ness

Lorene McDaniel Coker Ness passed away on Feb. 4, 2003, in Hondo at the age of 93. She was born Oct. 16, 1909, in Comanche and moved to Uvalde after her marriage. She had resided in Hondo since 1995. Graveside service was held in Uvalde on Thursday, Feb. 6, with Rev. John O. McKay officiating.

Wayne Blair Noddin, age 68, of San Antonio passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, in San Antonio. He was born May 29, 1934, in Hingham, MA. Funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Rosary was held Thursday, Feb. 27, at 11:45 a.m. also at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment followed the Rosary at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

David G. Odam Jr., of Devine passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at the age of 82, in San Antonio. He was born in Spur, June 19, 1920. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Hubbel officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

Bea Ellen Bean O'Neill, age 81, of Rio Medina passed away Feb. 24, 2003, in College Station. She was born Sept. 17, 1921, in Waterloo, IA. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Castroville. Interment followed the Mass at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Castroville.

Juan Jose Rodriguez passed from this life Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003. Juan's life was celebrated in prayer at 7 p.m. Church service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at Templo De Dios Pentecostes with Pastor Johnny Hernandez officiating. He was laid to rest in the Hondo Cemetery.

Ethel Regina Rothe

Ethel Regina Rothe died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003 at a nursing home in Castroville. She was 90 years old.
Rosary and funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis, with the Rev. Wallis Stiles officiating. Interment is in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Boyce Dale Schwope

Boyce Dale Schwope of San Antonio, formerly of Boerne and Hondo, entered into eternal rest on Feb. 5, 2003, at the age of 55. He fought a long, hard
battle with cancer. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at the First United Methodist Church in Boerne, officiated by Rev. James Galloway- Edgar of Oxford United Methodist Church, San Antonio. Interment was in Boerne Cemetery.

Rudy Valenciano, age 35, of Castroville passed away Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, in San Antonio. He was born April 17, 1967, in Greeley, CO. Visitation was Monday, Feb. 24, and Rosary was at 7 p.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday at 9 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment was at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville.

Constance Ione "Connie" Westbrook, age 76, of Devine passed away on Feb. 23, 2003. She was born in San Antonio on Sept. 17, 1926. Funeral service was held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at Lytle United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Martin officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery, Devine.
