Jonah Nathan Benitez of Lawton, OK, was born and went to be with the angels on Dec. 28, 2004. He is survived by his parents, Joe Jr. and Jacqueline (Guzman) Benitez of Lawton, OK; grandparents, Betty Benitez of Hondo and Robert and Margaret Jimenez of Oxnard, CA. His family gathered for a graveside service Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, 11 a.m. at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Harold James Bohlen, age 78, of Hondo passed away on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2004. He was born in Dunlay, on Feb. 3, 1926. Visitation was Tuesday, Dec. 28, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Service was at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hondo. Burial was in Quihi Cemetery.

Dominga De La Rosa, age 62, of San Antonio and formerly of Devine, passed away Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, in San Antonio. She was born in Devine,
July 19, 1942. Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at First Baptist Church with Dr. David Cooke, associate pastor, officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

BK Nixon Dillard, age 28, of Charlotte passed away Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, near Charlotte. He died as the result of a hunting accident. Funeral service was held at Atascosa County Showbarn, Pleasanton, at 2
p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004. Interment was at Cowley Ranch near Charlotte.

Freida Juanell Ritchie Erling, age 74, of rural San Antonio, passed away Dec. 18, 2004, in San Antonio. Freida was born Oct. 10, 1930, in Harlingen. A Memorial Service was held Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Castroville.

Luisa Luz Fabro, 76, of Kerrville, passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at her residence. She was born Aug. 25, 1928, in Sabinal.   Visitation was Tuesday at the Kerrville Funeral Home with Rosary at 7 p.m. Rosary was also recited at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo, 7 p.m., on Wednesday. Funeral Mass was Thursday, Dec. 30, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial in Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.

Norman Edward "Ed" Fisher, age 70 years, 6 months and 8 days, of Hondo passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004. He was currently serving as mayor of the City of Hondo.      He was born in Muncie, IN, on May 31, 1934.    Graveside service was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at the Sabinal Cemetery. Six Hondo Police officers served as casket carriers. Naval Air Station Dallas provided military honors.      Following the graveside service, a Celebration of Life service was held at the First United Methodist Church in Hondo at 11:30 a.m.

Edna Henrietta Geuea, age 88, of Hondo, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004. She was born in Leinweber Settlement, on July 26, 1916.   Visitation was Monday, Jan.3, at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hondo. Burial was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Patricia Ann Godfrey passed away Dec. 9, 2004 at the age of 74. Visitation was held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12 with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapel South. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13 at the funeral home. Interment followed at Mission Burial park south.

Simona Ramirez Gonzalez of Hondo, entered into rest on Dec. 14, 2004, at the age of 90. Visitation was from 12 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Hondo Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17 at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment followed in Oakwood Section of Hondo Cemetery.

Alma Jane Meikle Hibbs, age 76, of rural Castroville, formerly of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away Dec. 13, 2004, in San Antonio.      Alma was born Jan. 26, 1928, in Charleroi, PA. The Tondre- Guinn Funeral Home open on Friday, Dec. 17, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. for visitation. Memorial service at 6 p.m.

Zonie Frances Virginia Taylor Hoog, age 85, of Castroville passed away Dec. 4, 2004, in Castroville. Zonie was born Sept. 19, 1919, in Hondo.   Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. Rosary was held Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m. Both services were held at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment was in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Castroville.

Melvin Eugene "Gene" Hoover, age 73, of Devine, passed away Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004. He was born in Hondo, April 27, 1931.   Graveside service was at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Evergreen Cemetery
with Pastor Keith Dennis officiating.

Peggy Joyce Racker Johon-nett, age 67, of Castroville, formerly of Levelland, passed away Dec. 4, 2004, at home. Peggy was born Dec. 31, 1936, in Crossroads, Henderson County. Visitation was at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home Wednesday, Dec. 8, 6 to 8:30 p.m., with a Memorial service at 7 p.m.

Glenda Marie Dick Kuenstler, loving mother and grandmother, entered into rest on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, in San Antonio, at the age of 86 years. She
was born on Dec. 13, 1917, in Leakey. Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at the Cotulla Presbyterian Church in with Rev. Steven Parker officiating. Interment was in the Cotulla Cemetery.

John Earl Malone, age 51, of Devine, passed away Dec. 30, 2004. He was born in Dilley, Sept. 25, 1953.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at Pearsall Cemetery led by Richard Byrd.

John F. Moore, age 60, of Moore, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004. He was born in Moore, Nov. 8, 1944. Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leonard Geyer officiating.

Benito R. Morado, age 61, of Castroville, passed away Dec. 31, 2004, in San Antonio. Benito was born Mar. 21, 1943, in Madrid, Coahuila, Mexico. Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 2, with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Castroville, with interment at St. Louis Cemetery.

Milton Mumme, age 80, of Hondo, passed away on Friday, Dec. 17, 2004. He was born in Vandenburg, March 28, 1924. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with The Rev. David J. Mayer officiating. Burial was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Mary C. Munk, age 88, of Lytle, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2004. She was born in Bigfoot, Jan. 25, 1916. Graveside service was at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at Oak Island Cemetery with Rev. Fletcher Pool officiating.

Mabel Sadler Newsom, age 94, formerly of Devine and Pearsall passed away Monday, December 20, 2004, at her son's (James) residence in Palacios. Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel, Devine, with Rev. Johnny Melacon officiating. Interment followed at Pearsall Cemetery, Pearsall.

John Frank Rainosek, Jr., age 78, of Natalia passed away Dec.15, 2004. He was born Nov. 25, 1926, in Schulenburg. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 17, and Funeral Mass was held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, LaCoste. Military Honors were provided by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard was at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He was cremated and his ashes will be interred at a later date at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. Memorials may given to the Alzheimer's Association.

Erminia Cortez Reyes, age 67, of D'Hanis, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004. She was born in D¹Hanis, on Nov. 7, 1937. Rosary was recited at Holy Cross Catholic Church on Friday, Dec. 17, at
6 p.m Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis.

Richard Delwin Rushing, age 87, passed away Dec. 10, 2004. He was born Oct. 20, 1917 in Alice.

Kenneth Rutherford, GySgt, USMC, Ret, of Waco and formerly of Hondo, passed away Tuesday Dec. 28, 2004, at the age of 45. Funeral services in San Antonio are pending.

Mabel Ernestine Weynand, age 85 , of Hondo died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004. She was born in D'Hanis, on July 11, 1919. Rosary, followed by Funeral Mass, was held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in D'Hanis. Burial was in Holy Cross
Cemetery, D'Hanis.

Oleta Louise Williamson, age 64, of Moore, passed away Dec. 3, 2004. She was born in Phoenix, AZ, Dec. 20, 1939. Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Whitt officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mary Lillian Whitt Wren, age 81, of Devine, was born Oct. 28, 1923, passed away on Dec. 10, 2004. Funeral service was held Dec. 14, in the Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Whitt officiating. Gene Morris and Jake Arrott provided special music. Dr. Glenn Young closed the service with prayer. She was buried in the George's Creek Cemetery beside her mother.
