Adolfina Arredondo, age 72, of Hondo passed away Dec. 10, 2002, in San Antonio. She was born in Hondo on June 16, 1930. Rosary was at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home Chapel, with auspices by Rosa Maria Galvan. Mass was at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 12, at St. John's Catholic Church with Rev. Jeff Pehl officiating. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Francis Roy Barger, age 79, of Hondo passed away in Helotes, Tuesday morning, Dec. 17, 2002. Roy was born Feb. 14, 1923, in St. James, LA. Visitation was Thursday, Dec. 19, from 12 noon to 8 p.m., and the
Rosary was held at 7 p.m. at the Tondre-Guinn Chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment was held at St. Louis Catholic
Cemetery.

Ramona Y. Barrientes

Ramona Y. Barrientes, age 79, of Hondo passed away Dec. 13, 2002. She was born Aug. 2, 1923, in San Marcos. Rosary was recited on Monday, Dec. 16 at the Guinn Horger Funeral Home Chapel with auspices by Epifania Ybarra. Funeral Mass was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church lead by Rev. Jeff Pehl. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section.

James Shelton Bates Jr.,

James Shelton Bates Jr., age 60, of Hondo passed away Dec. 10, 2002. He was born Mar. 23, 1942, in Evant. Funeral service was held Friday, Dec. 13, at New Fountain Methodist Church and officiated by Johnney J. Whiteaker. Interment followed in the New
Fountain Cemetery.

service was at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor David Mayer officiating. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Patricia "Pat" K. Milam Byrn

Patricia "Pat" K. Milam Byrn, age 66, formerly of La Coste passed away Dec. 1, 2002, at home in Glen Allen, VA. She was born Feb. 4, 1936, in San
Antonio. The Chapel at Tondre-Guinn was open for her memorial visitation on Tuesday, Dec. 10. Memorial service followed the visitation at the
Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville.

Leo Paul Echtle

Leo Paul Echtle, age 88, of La Coste passed away Dec. 9, 2002, in San Antonio. He was born Feb. 15, 1914, in Bexar County near La Coste. Visitation was held at Tondre-Guinn Chapel Wednesday, Dec. 11, and the Rosary was led by Rev. Gerald Haby at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in LaCoste.
Funeral Mass was con-celebrated by Rev. Gerald Haby and Rev. John Mannion at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at the church and interment was at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery, La Coste.

Marisa Cristal Vera Esquibel

Marisa Cristal Vera Esquibel was born Lovington, NM, on Feb. 4, 1966, and passed away in Natalia, on Dec. 7, 2002. Rosary was recited and Mass was celebrated, Wednesday, Dec. 11, in St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Natalia. Interment followed in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Devine.

It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Hoffman Haegelin announces her death on Dec. 18, 2002. She was born Jan. 11, 1918, in San Diego, TX.

Leslie Vance officiating. Both services were at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Section.

Clara E. Hankins

Clara E. Hankins, age 98, of Kerrville passed away Dec. 15, 2002, in Hondo. She was born in Hondo, Oct. 10, 1904. She was cremated and a memorial service will be at a later date.

Carolina Garcia Hernandez

Carolina Garcia Hernandez, age 83, of Castroville passed away in San Antonio, Monday morning, Dec. 30, 2002. Carolina was born Nov. 9, 1919, in
Castroville. Visitation and the Rosary were held Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at the Tondre-Guinn Chapel. The Funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment was at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Castroville.

William E. Johnston

William E. Johnston, age 86,of Hondo went to be with the Lord Dec. 15, 2002. He was born in Houston on Dec. 16, 1915. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels, Hondo. Graveside followed at 12 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio.

Walter Joyce Jr.

Walter Joyce Jr., age 59, passed away Sunday morning, Dec. 15, 2002, at home in Lytle. He was born June 20, 1943, in Lytle. Visitation was Tuesday at the Tondre- Guinn Chapel and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to service time, which began at 10 a.m., at the Lytle United Methodist Church. Interment was at the Lytle Community Cemetery.

Claudia Boubel Jungman

Claudia Boubel Jungman, age 59, of Castroville passed away at home, late Thursday morning, Dec. 19, 2002. Claudia was born Jan. 12, 1943, in Castroville. Visitation was held Sunday, Dec. 22, at Tondre-Guinn Chapel. Funeral Mass was celebrated Sunday, Dec. 22, at 7 p.m., and the Rosary was Monday, Dec. 23, at 10 a.m. Both services were held at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville with Rev. Jim Conway officiating. Following the Rosary, interment was at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.

Ophaie Floyd Kent, age 79, passed away Dec. 25, 2002, at his home in Quihi. He was born Oct. 18, 1923, in Boyd. A celebration of his life was held Monday, Dec. 30, 2002, 11 a.m., at Tondre-Guinn Chapel in Castroville, with Pastor Stephen Schur of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Quihi, officiating. Interment was at 2 p.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Edward Knight, age 83, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2002. A graveside service was held Dec. 5, 2002, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Barbara Lee Langfeld

Barbara Lee Langfeld, age 74, of Corpus Christi passed away Dec. 28, 2002. She was born in D'Hanis, Oct. 11, 1928. Funeral Mass was at noon, Tuesday, Dec. 31, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Wallis J. Stiles officiating. Interment followed in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.

Modesto Tobar Leal, age 74, of Devine passed away Dec. 31, 2002, in San Antonio. He was born in Hondo, Feb. 24, 1928. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Romeo Olivares officiating. Interment followed in the Yancey Cemetery, Yancey.

David Martinez was born on Sept. 7, 1948, in Hondo. He passed from this life Dec. 30, 2002. Holy Rosary was recited Friday, Jan. 3, at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels and Requiem Mass celebrated Saturday, Jan. 4, at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment followed at Hondo Cemetery.

Andrew L. May, age 79, of Columbia Heights, MN, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, at the Washburn-McReavy Columbia Heights Chapel. Interment was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Leonardo Navarro, age 101, of Devine passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, in San Antonio. He was born in Marin, Mexico, March 12, 1901. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Msgr. Adolfo Valdivia- Aguirre officiating. Interment followed in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemtery.

Thomas Peyton Nowlin, II

Thomas Peyton Nowlin, II, age 88, of Devine passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002. Visitation was held Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Hurley Funeral Home, and on
Sunday, Dec. 15 the family received friends in the parlor of the First Baptist Church, Devine. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at First Baptist Church with interment following at Longview Cemetery, Bigfoot.

Donald W. O'Connell, age 71, of Willow, AK, passed away at his home Dec. 25, 2002. He was born April 14, 1931, in Riverside, CA. A graveside service with full military honors was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, 2003, at Ft. Richardson National Cemetery, Ft. Richardson, AK.

graveside service was at 3 p.m. in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. A reception followed at the First Baptist Church in Hondo.

Elizabeth (Beth) Marie Gaines Robbins, age 76, passed away Dec. 31, 2002, in Quihi. She was born in Shreveport, LA, Aug. 18, 1926. Christi. The family held a private memorial service.

a.m. Saturday, with both services at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, elotes. Interment was in Helotes Catholic Cemetery.

Eleanor Catherine Haby Tuck

Eleanor Catherine Haby Tuck passed away on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2002, at the age of 62 after a prolonged struggle with Parkinson's disease. She was
born on Sept. 15, 1940, in Hondo. A Rosary service was held at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Roy Akers. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 31, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (Selma). Interment followed in Fort Sam Houston
National Cemetery.
