Nelma Janice Diehl Barge, age 64, passed away on August 19, 2004, in Dallas. She was born on Sept. 24, 1939, in Brady. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, at Calvary Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Bear Creek Cemetery in Euless.

Bradley Austin Vincent "Brad" Billings, age 44, of Castroville passed away on Monday, Aug. 16, 2004. Brad was born March 13, 1960, in San Antonio. Visitation was on Wednesday, Aug. 18, and Funeral Mass will be Thursday, Aug. 19, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville.

Dorothy Ellen Bradley, age 78, of Devine passed away Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004. She was born Mar. 6, 1926, in Wayne County, MO. Graveside service was held Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1:45 p.m., at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, with Steven Patterson, minister of the Church of Christ, officiating.

Agnes M. (Fahnert) Bryant, age 89, passed away Aug. 16, 2004. She was born on Oct. 15 on a "German" family farm near Lyons. A brief Memorial Service was held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 20, at Sunset Memorial Chapel in San Antonio.

Melvin James "Jimmy" Burell, age 74, of Castroville passed away Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, in San Antonio. Jimmy was born Feb. 10, 1930, in Castroville. Funeral Mass was offered by Fr. Jim Conway at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, and the Rosary was led by Deacon Gene Ebner on Friday, at 10 a.m., both at St. Louis Catholic Church. Entombment, with military honors provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard, was at St. Louis Garden Mausoleum, Castroville.

Franklin LeRoy "Frank" Burton Jr., age 53, of Hondo, died on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004, in San Antonio. He was born in Dallas on August 19, 1951. Visitation was Friday, Aug. 27, at the Guinn-Horger Chapel. Graveside funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at the Yancey Cemetery.

Rogelio "Roy" Carmona Jr., age 46, of Hondo passed away Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004. He was born in Hondo on June 1, 1958. A wake service was held Sunday, Aug. 8, at 7 p.m. at the Guinn-Horger
Funeral Home. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo. Fr. Jeff Pehl of St. John's and George Randall, minister of Hondo Church of Christ, officiated. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Delma Delia Dominguez, age 54, of Hondo passed away Aug. 10, 2004. She was born in Hondo March 18, 1950. Rosary service on Friday, Aug. 13, was led by Epifania Ybarra. Funeral Mass was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Section. Rev. Jeff Pehl officiated.

Ethel Mae (Koehler) Fischer, age 84, passed away Aug. 27, 2004. She was born in San Antonio March 8, 1920. Visitation was 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with Rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Brookehill Funeral Home. Mass was at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Gerard Church with graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Terrence Thomas "Terry" FitzSimon, age 60, of La Coste passed away on Aug. 8, 2004. Terry was born Dec. 13, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas. The family will hold a private memorial service.

Margarita Silva Gonzales, age 87, of Devine, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, in San Antonio. She was born in Black Creek, Nov. 3, 1916.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Keith Dennis officiating. Interment followed in Black
Creek Cemetery.

Petra (Garcia) Gonzales, age 76, died on Thursday, August 19, 2004, in San Antonio. She was born in Paducca, on Feb. 23, 1928, the daughter of Clemente and Julia (Tovar) Garcia. Rosary was recited Sunday, Aug. 22, at 7 p.m. and the Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23, both at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment was in Yancey Cemetery.

Robert P. "Bob" Gregory, age 63, of San Bernardino, CA, passed away Aug. 7, 2004, after a lengthy battle with cancer. A private family memorial was held in San Bernardino, CA.

Russell Alvin "Rusty" Gregory, age 79, of Three Rivers passed away Aug. 10, 2004. He was born in Edna, Texas on April 4, 1925. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at the Church of Christ in Three Rivers with Don Jones officiating. Interment was in Three Rivers Cemetery.

Carolyn L. Hartung died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004, at her home in Sinton after a long illness. Graveside services were held Saturday, Aug. 7 at Sinton Cemetery with Rev. James Sturgis officiating.

Frances Ellen "Frankie" Hartung, age 82, of Hondo passed away August 10, 2004. She was born in Hondo on June 20, 1922. Visitation was held Thursday, Aug. 12, at Guinn-Horger Chapel. Funeral Service was held Friday, Aug. 13, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hondo. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section.

Visitation was at 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 27, with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Zizik-Kearns Riebe- Saunders Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m., Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Entombment was at the Holy Cross Cemetery.

L.A. "Alton" Martin, age 88, of Devine passed away Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004 in San Antonio. Visitation was Friday, Aug. 6, from 2 until 9 p.m. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel, Devine. Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment was at 2:30 p.m., Saturday at Stockdale Cemetery in Stockdale.

Christian Edward Martinez, age 17 months, passed away Aug. 8, 2004. He was born on Mar. 14, 2003. Christian is survived by his father, Michael Benjamin Martinez. Funeral service was held at Warnerrobbins, GA, on Aug. 11, 2004.

Elena Mendoza, age 76, of Devine, passed away Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, in San Antonio. She was born on Aug. 28, 1927, in Devine. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Jose F. Puente officiating. Interment in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.

Mary M. Mikulenka, age 92, passed away Aug. 14, 2004. She was born Mary Margaret Fillinger in Devine, Oct. 15, 1911. Rosary was recited at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at St. James Catholic Church in Seguin followed by Mass and interment.

Elva Apodaca Mills, age 71, of Castroville passed away on Aug. 6, 2004. Elva was born Feb. 3, 1933, in Empalme, Sonora, Mexico. Visitation was Tuesday, Aug. 10, followed by funeral service at 2 p.m. at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home, Castroville. Cremation will be at a later date.

Ruby Marie Haass Newman, age 101, of Houston, a former long-time resident of San Antonio, passed away Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, in Houston. She was born July 21, 1903, in Medina County. Funeral service was held Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1 p.m., at Porter Loring Chapel, San Antonio, with Pastor Anne Kolmeier from Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville officiating. Guadalupe "Lupe" (Trinidad) Rangel, age 63, of Hondo passed away on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at home. She was born in Hondo on Oct. 22, 1940. Rosary was Wednesday, Sept. 1, at 7 p.m. at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at St. John
the Evangelist Catholic Church. Interment was in Hondo Cemetery.

Joyce Marie Rawlings, age 52, of Devine, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004 in San Antonio. She was born June 27, 1952 in New York. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 in Evergreen Cemetery with Murl Helwig, Minister, officiating.

Agedita Santos Reyes, age 64, of Hondo, passed away on Aug. 31, 2004. Visitation was from noon to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2, at Hondo Funeral Home with Rosary at 7 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery.

Eduardo "Wallo" Reyes, age 96, of Devine passed away Sunday, Aug. 8, 2004, in Pearsall. He was born Oct. 13, 1907, in Von Ormy. Funeral Mass Thursday, Aug. 12, 10 a.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Jose F. Puente officiating. Interment in Longview Cemetery.

Margaret Richardson, age 71, of Devine, formerly of San Antonio, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, in Hondo. She was born in Halls, TN, May 12, 1933. Graveside service was at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at Evergreen Cemetery with Steve Patterson, Minister, officiating.

Josephine Mazurek Ruede, age 87, of Pipe Creek died on Sunday, August 15, 2004, at a Castroville nursing home. She was born in Bandera County on Dec. 10, 1916. Funeral arrangements are pending with Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera.

Keith Ross Seale, age 48, of Dallas, passed away on Aug. 25, 2004, he was born on Nov. 5, 1955.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Aug. 28 at Sparkman Funeral Home, Richardson.

Thomas Patrick Sharp, age 53, died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, in a Kerrville hospital. A resident of Kerrville since 1982 and a former resident of Hondo, Thomas was born Feb. 16, 1951, in New York City. Memorial services were held at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 18, at Grimes Funeral Chapels.

Bertie Martha Sweatt Vanderleest, age 88, of Dunlay, formerly of Devine, passed away Aug. 21, 2004. She was born Mar. 30, 1916, in Devine.
Funeral service was Wednesday, Aug. 25 with her grandson Rev. Robert Wayne Boettcher officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery.

Lenore D. Walker, age 81, of Devine, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 10. 2004, in Castroville. She was born in Aspermont, Aug. 2, 1923. Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at Hurley Funeral Home
Chapel with Bro. David Cook officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.

Leonie Marie (Fest) Warner, age 101 years, of Hondo passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2004, at home. She was born in San Antonio, on Nov. 26, 1902. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, and Funeral Mass was held Wednesday Sept. 1, both services at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hondo. Entombment was in Hondo Cemetery, St. John's Mausoleum.

Gertride Frieda Clara Weiser, age 89, of Devine and formerly of Pearsall, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, in Hondo. She was born in Winchester, Nov. 1, 1914. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Pearsall, with Pastor Robert Gentet officiating. Interment was in Pearsall Cemetery.

Elva Maxine (Martin) Kempf Weynand of Yancey, age 79, died on Saturday, August 14, 2004, at her home. She was born in Yancey on March 9, 1925. Visitation was Monday, Aug. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Guinn-Horger Funeral Home. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at the Yancey United Methodist Church. Interment followed in Yancey Cemetery.

Earnest Woodson, age 83, of Natalia, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004. He was born in Crosbyton, Dec. 8, 1920. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at Hurley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Myron Rickertts officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery.
