Ricarda Correa Arias, age 65 of Hondo, passed on to be with our Lord January 29, 2010. A prayer service was held Saturday, Jan. 30, at Hondo Funeral Home. A funeral service was held Sunday, Jan. 31, at First Mexican Baptist Church. Interment followed in Hondo Cemetery.
Vera Lucille Hood Gill, a native of Sarepta, LA, died January 31, 2010, in San Antonio. Funeral services for Vera Lucille Hood Gill, age 91, will be held Saturday, Feb. 6, at Bailey Mortuary Chapel in Springhill, LA. Interment will follow in the Springhill Cemetery. The family will received friends at Bailey Mortuary on February 6, 2010 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Domingo G. ‘Mingo’ Gonzales, age 84 of Hondo, passed away Friday, January 8, 2010. He was born December 16, 1925, in Biry. The Rosary was recited, followed by the Funeral Mass Monday, Jan. 11, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Ken Dakin officiating.
Mary Agnes “Tiny” Hubbard, born December
25, 1923, went to be with the Lord Jan. 29, 2010, at the age of 87. The
Rosary was recited and Funeral Mass was celebrated Sunday, Jan. 31, at
St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. Interment was Monday, Feb. 1,
at Holy Cross Cemetery in D’Hanis. For all that is good, William ‘Bill’ Alois Iltis dedicated 87 years of his life on this earth in service to his country, to his community, and to his family. He went to the Lord January 17, 2010. He was born Sept. 30, 1922, at the Iltis farm near the small settlement of Idlewild. Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, Jan. 19, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville. The Rosary was recited Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville followed by interment at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Cemetery in La Coste. Bobby Ray Kelley, age 71 of Devine, passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at home. Memorial services held at a later date in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Devine. Irving C. Kuentz, age 82, of Windcrest, died
Wednesday, January 20, 2010. The Rosary was recited Sunday, Jan. 24 at
Porter Loring Chapel. Mass was celebrated Monday, Jan. 25, at St. John
Neumann Catholic Church. Interment was in St. Jerome’s Catholic
Cemetery.

Gladys Marie Crouch Miller of Somerset, surrounded by her loving family at Wilford Hall Hospital at Lackland AFB, went to be with the Lord January 24, 2010. She was 81. She was born September 2, 1928, in her family’s home outside of Devine. Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 27, under the direction of Pastor L. Lynn Beams at Hurley Funeral Home in Lytle. Burial was in Bexar Cemetery in Somerset. Reverend James Clarence Neffendorf, age 87 of
Seguin, went to be with the Lord January 31, 2010. Visitation held
Thursday from 4 – 6 p.m. at Tres Hewell Mortuary. Funeral service held
Friday, February 5, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Tres Hewell Chapel with Rev.
Jeremy Roy officiating. Interment at San Geronimo Cemetery. James was
born October 13, 1922 in Fredericksburg.

Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Guadalupe Section. Roy John Schweers, age 95, died January 2, 2010, with his children by his side. He was born August 14, 1914, in Hondo. The funeral service and interment were held Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, the Rev. James Murguia officiating. Doris K. Sharber, age 82 of Natalia, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010 in Lytle. The Rosary was recited Monday, Feb. 1, in the Chapel of Hurley Funeral Home in Lytle. Gerald Neil Bogert of Somerset, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010, at home at the age of 74. Graveside service was held Friday, Feb. 26, at 11a.m., at Brummett Cemetery in Bigfoot with interment immediately following. There was no visitation prior to service. Mildred “Mille” Wurzbach Breiten, age 63 of San Antonio, passed away Feb. 16, 2010, in San Antonio. She was born March 8, 1946, in Castroville. Interment was in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Castroville. Deralde Clark Carwile, age 78, long-time resident of Sweeny and more recently of San Antonio, passed away February 23, 2010, in Converse. He was born July 25, 1931, in New Iberia, LA. The family will hold a private burial. Maureen “Pat” Christley age 73, entered into rest February 9, 2010, in San Antonio. She was born May 3, 1936, in Liverpool, England. Memorial services were held Friday, February 19, at La Coste Baptist Church, with Rev. Cliff Harden officiating. She was laid to rest at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Mindy Lou Jones Coppock, age 37 of San Antonio, passed away Feb. 16, 2010. She was born Aug. 1, 1972, in San Antonio. Interment in the Evergreen Cemetery. Pat Horn Edwards, age 75 of Hondo, formerly of Uvalde, passed away February 9, 2010, in San Antonio. She was born February 4, 1935, in Uvalde. Funeral service was held Friday, Feb. 12, at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Funeral Chapel in Uvalde by Rev. Andy Tyson. Jose Jesus Fuentes, age 81, of Pearsall passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at his residence. Prayer service was offered Tuesday, Feb. 9, at the Hurley Funeral Home in Pearsall. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, Feb. 10, in the Chapel of the Hurley Funeral Home. Interment followed in Pearsall Cemetery.

Devine with interment to follow in Brummett Cemetery. Dorothy Allie Naegelin Muennink, age 85 of Hondo, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010. She was born in Castroville October 9, 1924. The Rosary, led by Aleen and Ramona Koch, was followed by the Funeral Mass, Tuesday, March 2, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Fr. Ken Dakin and Deacon John Schoellman officiated. Interment was at Hondo Cemetery, Oakwood Section. James “Pete” Reagan, age 77 of Lake Hills, passed away February 10, 2010. He was born January 24, 1933, in San Antonio. Gloria Ardyce “Biddy” O’Neill Vincent, age 83 of Hondo, passed away Friday, Feb. 19, 2009. She was born in Hondo Oct. 31, 1926. The Rosary was recited at 1:45 p.m., followed by a Memorial Mass, on Saturday, Feb. 27, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Services concluded at the church.
Dr. Leo Windecker, 88, the legendary aircraft designer and creator of the first military Stealth prototype, earned his permanent wings Saturday, February 13, 2010, as he passed away in Cedar Park. He was born in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada, July 9, 1921. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 16. Interment was in Mission Park-South, in San Antonio. Maria Elvira Ybarra, age 57 of Hondo, passed on to be with our Lord February 7, 2010. A prayer service was held Feb. 9, at Hondo Funeral Home. Funeral service was held Feb. 10, at Hondo Funeral Home. Meta Marie Schulmeier Acker, age 95 of Yancey, went home to be with her Lord March 19, 2010. She was born Nov. 18, 1914, in Wetmore, Texas. Funeral services were held at Mission Park South in San Antonio Wednesday, March 24. Interment followed in San Fernando III Cemetery in San Antonio. L.T. Brown, 67, a loving father and husband, passed away March 14, 2010. L.T. was born May 27, 1942, in Fort Worth and was a lifelong Fort Worth area resident. Bruce “B.T.” Terry Foster, age 71, of Hondo, passed away March 8, 2010. He was born Oct. 15, 1938, in Cleveland, OH. A graveside service was held Friday, March 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio. Pete Almodova Gallego Jr., a lifelong resident of Alpine and son of a pioneering Alpine family, passed away March 4, 2010. He had just celebrated his 85th birthday. He was born February 17, 1925, in a very different Alpine. The Rosary was recited March 7, and funeral services were March 8, both at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Burial was in Holy Angels Cemetery. Alicia Garcia Gallegos, age 84 of Devine, passed away Friday, March 26, in Round Rock. Interment was in Lytle Community Cemetery. Loretta Delores Hail Mahan, known to all as “Bill”, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, March 15, 2010. 1st Sgt. Harvey “Hank” A. Pomerance, USMC (Ret.), age 80, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010, in San Antonio. He was born August 24, 1929, in Brooklyn, NY.
